I had been wanting to visit this place since we moved to Lyon. It had a lot of decent reviews online and it looked good. It's appeal is more to the breakfast and brunch folk, and it seemed kind of trendy.
We walked in on a Sunday afternoon, and we were pretty happy since most places in Lyon are closed Sundays. The place itself has a nice feel and there were a couple of open tables. We were seated right away and our orders were taken quickly.
We ordered a very basic avocado toast and a Pain Perdu Salée. We were hungry and ready to eat. Then the waiting began, and continued, and still went on. Things in France typically take a little long, but our order took 45 minutes to arrive and the Pain Perdu had the wrong ingredients. They were very kind and replaced it within five minutes, but it really was unnecessarily long for what it was.
I mean no disrespect to the staff or the business, but it truly took way too long for some avocado toast.
The food itself was not bad, but not as good as some had sold it online to be. It's a bit overpriced for what it is. I'm really trying to be objective about this because I don't like speaking I'll of people's work and efforts. However, it's really not what it's made out to be. Lucile I said, the food was decent, the service was good, but it just took way too long and cost more than it should.
I'm just one person, and it's one opinion. I can't even say it took long because it was packed, because during our wait, 80% of folks were already gone. If it had stayed full, I would have totally understood.
I'll give this place three stars because the price and the wait wasn't really worth it for me. The place and the folks are nice, but I think they could improve based on what they're sold to be. The plus side is that it's open on Sundays when so many places in France are typically closed. read more
