This was a great little spot in the old part of Lyon. There isn't much outdoor space as the restaurant is located in one of the narrower streets of Vieux Lyon. We didn't have a reservation but was able to get a table for two during prime dining hours. This place didn't seem too touristy and appeared to be patronized my mostly locals.
We ordered of the Menu Bouchon, which was a prix fixe menu consisting of a starter, entree and dessert. I got the onion soup, which originated in Lyon, to start. It was quite good! For dinner, I had the saucisson lyonais (Lyon sausages) and dauphinois potatoes (yum!!!). The sausages were good but the potatoes were amazing! They came out piping hot in their own little cast iron pot.
To finish the meal, I got the tarte aux pralines. What a delight! This is another lyonais specialty and a must try.
Service was pretty good. The food came out pretty quickly and there was not a rush to get us out. They only have the credit machine at the bar so that is where one would pay (we found that out after asking for l'addition). read more
