We arrived late to Valdez and Fu Kung was within walking distance and open! We were greeted and sat immediately. Loved the fish tanks. My husband ordered Pork Fried Rice and I Sizzling Rice Soup. I was impressed with both - huge servings. The soup was full of vegetables, shrimp and chicken - and will serve me three meals! The rice had ample egg, pork and vegetables.

Beef lo mein

One of the few Asian restaurants in town. Unfortunately, food was expensive and bland. The service could use some work too. They're a bit brusque. We had lo mein. The serving size is enough for 1.5 to 2 meals. However, it was very bland and not authentic at all. I can make much better at home. They didn't have fish even though it was on the menu either. They do have free hot tea if you ask for it.

Visited Fu King during my trip to Valdez and had a good dine in experience. We were initially told it could take up to an hour for us to receive our food (they were really busy). However, the service was quicker than expected and we received our food within 20 minutes. I ordered the beef lo mein and my friend ordered the beef and broccoli entree with pork fried rice. All of the food was good and I would recommend Fu Kung if you're looking for a casual and quick dining experience.

3 sushi rolls

We rolled into Valdez and found that Fu Kung was right behind our hotel. We ended up getting the 007, Polar Bear, and a spicy crunch roll. For 2 people, the 3 rolls really hit the spot and came with a great spicy soup. We knew we'd be hungry later and got an order of pad Thai to go. The servers were kind and quick, and we had a great time relaxing here after a long drive. In the evening when we broke out the pad Thai, they had carefully put the peanut sauce and the hot pepper sauce in separate containers, so it wasn't soggy or separated. The one order was enough for both of us to eat.

I don't know why the average is only 3 star, I'm giving it 5 stars because i absolutely love Fu Kung. We don't get to come to Valdez too often, but fishing once, maybe twice a year, gets me excited to go to Fu Kung, because they have one of my favourite ever meals I've ever eaten. I always get the same thing, after discovering it by accident one year. The sizzling rice with beef. You get egg drop soup, or hot n sour soup to start, and then your appetizer comes and it's a big portion. The server brings a hot plate, on a wooden trestle, and puts some rice in it, then pours over the beef, vegetables, and sauce, and it sizzles and spits. Yum! It comes with regular steamed rice too. The vegetables are always tender crisp, cooked perfectly, sugar snap peas, broccoli, carrots, and baby sweet corn, and beautifully tender slices of beef in this most sublime sauce, along with the rice that had sizzled, and it's crunchy and uncommonly good, and very addictive. I absolutely adore this dish. I am wishing right now, as i sit back home, that we were in Valdez, and i could have this for dinner. Husband varies his choices, and is always happy with what he gets too, but i can't even leave a review for any of his meals, because when i get my sizzling rice and beef, i am in a happy place, with tunnel vision, and not even aware of what he ordered. I will see you next summer Fu Kung!

Mandarin beef, Mongolian beef -both with rice, and chicken lo mein.

Wonderful food!!! Flavors are great and each of my party is completely satisfied! Service was a little slow but they ARE busy so that's completely understandable! Another treasure here in Valdez!!!

This is supposedly General Tso's Chicken. It is nothing at all like it.

Spent 50 minutes waiting for my takeout that I ordered, which was egg drop soup and General Tso's Chicken (didn't look or taste like it at all). They gave my order to someone sitting in the restaurant, so I had to wait long get. The place has 2 fish tanks, one has dead fish in it, the other has so many little fish that it looks like a choked drank from a cup and backwash went into the aquarium. Both tanks were disgusting and needed to be cleaned. 0/5, would never eat again.

Side of rice

I had a very good experience. I ordered Mongolian beef. Tons of beef. It was super delicious. We went to another place because they got higher reviews. Spent $54 and wasn't enough food. Wasn't seasoned enough, only to find a lump of spice with a piece of chicken. The chicken dish only had few pieces of chicken and the chicken was precooked and dry. So we ordered from Fu Kung to see how it was. We were going to order 2 dishes but ordered 1 just in case. This is what we got. Tons of fresh beef. Got a ton of rice, not a small scoop. It was less expensive than the other place and the food was freshly cooked. They deserve much better rating for sure. If we stay one more night, we would order again.

This is the place to avoid.

Good food but not the best option compared to few other places in Valdez. Try Fat Mermaid instead won't disappoint you

I have tried hot and soul soup at MANY Chinese restaurants. Fu Kung in Valdez is the best!
