Just when I think I have written enough reviews and that there is nothing else to say, I go into a…read morerestaurant, and then I happen to find a place that you weren't expecting by accident. However, at the same time, you are happy that you did. So, let's get into the nitty-gritty of this review. The first time I went there for lunch, I sat in a booth so I could work while eating. So, I tried the Shrimp Teriyaki Box. It was terrific. So much so that I decided to order my dinner to go: the Steak and Salmon Hibachi Dinner Combo. I had my steak medium well. Later that evening, when I partook of my dinner, that steak was SO tender, juicy, and melted in my mouth. There is nothing like a good cut of meat and someone who knows how to cook it just right. The next day, one of my colleagues was interested in trying it after I told her about it. We ordered the following: Hibachi Fuji Yama Combination, Gyoza, Tempura Combo APP, along with a Fried California Roll, which was a first for me. But you're talking about some kind of good. The service on every occasion was fantastic; the staff were very attentive and cheerful, offering recommendations if you were unsure of anything. The atmosphere was engaging, clean, and not too noisy, where you can not only hear yourself think but also the other people in your party. If you're in the area, treat yourself to this restaurant; it's worth it.

Okay....today after a day of Sisterhood, I brought my Sister to my favorite Habachi restaurant in…read moreHattiesburg- Fuji Yama, my Husband and I have dine here over 10 or a dozen times....so I had no doubt she would have a Great Dining experience! Well, tonight was Horrible! The Habachi Chef was Ricky and he was not good! He had a style with his presentation and he spent too much time talking to a few members while not paying attention to our food. He even allowed one young adult crack an egg on the Habachi stove- this was not sanitary at all!!!!! He cooked the vegetables 1st and loaded the vegetables with loads of butter, then pushed the vegetables on the side, he then proceeded to to clean the Habachi stove then brought the rice and added the egg then poured what looked like 2 cups of soy sauce on the rice....and loaded it with butter, then he mixed the rice for 10 min, then put it on the side then went back to the vegetables and cooked them more, then he started talking to one of the fellows while we are all waiting on the rice to be placed on our plates. Then he finally decide to give the rice to us , he went to the guy he was talking to first but since the guy was on his phone he went all the way to me which I am further from all the other guest, instead of giving the rice to the next person - so I felt like he was upset that the guy he was speaking with was too busy..... then he served the rest of the rice..... now here is what really pissed me off ( not as bad as a customer cracking the egg for all to eat) but one of the customers said give me all the rest of the rice as a joke!!! So - the Chef Ricky did not evenly give the other customers rice- he gave ALL the extra rice ( about 3 cups remaining) to one person !!!!! Now it doesn't get better..... well , even though someone told him he was showering the rice with too much soy sauce, he also proceeded to shower the meat with the lit flan and more soy sauce..... even though my sister and the other customers told him light on the soy sauce! I was so upset that I had to leave the table to inform the employee in charge that it was beyond horrible and that I would not pay for the food... she informed me me her manager was not there and she couldn't give me no more than a 15% discount for me and my sister dinner. I really shouldn't have paid a penny , I did not eat the mess, and still couldn't get the fact that a customer actually used his hand to crack one of the eggs that was prepared with our rice. But, she did offer to give my sister and I some fried rice at no charge..... well we did get the cold bland rice- it was nasty but, at this point - I am extremely unhappy and trying not to make a scene, so I and my sister had a smile and politely paid for our meal. This was my "Go to Spot".... but after this experience. I cannot recommend this Restaurant- if you do go please make sure you do not get Ricky's your Habachi Chef. I am still so disappointed and can't believe how bad the chef was. The Service from the other employees was good, I wanted a manager, and not to have to pay for horrible food, but, no manager tonight, and after a long fun day, I just am tired and too exhausted to hassle with anyone.

We needed lunch while on a road trip and Yelp came through for us once again!…read more This spot has a great vibe and cool decor. The staff were warm and helpful. Cocktails were creative and beautifully presented. The food was great - eclectic Asian would be my descriptor. We had the pickled veggies which included kim chi, black garlic, poblanos, pickles, and collards. The assortment was very nice. The pork and shrimp dumplings were a bit firmer than I'm used to, but not in a bad way, and the flavors were excellent. The pot roast egg rolls were a fun mashup. The okra was delicious - perfectly cooked and great balance of flavors. The pork belly buns were my favorite item. Lots of tender, crispy pork on a cloud soft bun. Yum! I will definitely return if in the area.

Locals know this place is great. If you're traveling to Hattiesburg for any reason, like a…read moregraduation or baseball game or football game. This is the review for you. There are absolutely no shortages of places to eat in Hattiesburg. Some visiting might lean towards safe places with menu items they feel secure and safe with, and there's nothing wrong with that. But, if that's you you're missing out on some amazing food. Today I took my wife for mother's day as they had some special items on their menu, while also keeping their regular menu available. We started with their standard dumpling appetizer. We get it everytime we eat there and they're delicious every time. The meals we picked were the the kimchi cabanara and the shrimp and grits. Both on their special mother's day menu. Both were absolutely delicious with fresh ingrediants, balanced seasonings and amazing flavors. I'm Italian and grew up eating traditional family Sunday dinners but this bowl of pasta was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere of the place is very modern with a combination of traditional asian features mixed with some modern MTV inspired artwork. If you're into craft cocktails they got you covered as well. The only miss we had to day was our server never came back to take our dessert order, when we asked to order it he confused what we said for the bill and brought that instead. Not a deal breaker, we were actually too full for it anyway and we've had their desserts before. They always inventive and delicious. At the end of the day, one small service hiccup wasn't enough to overshadow what was an outstanding meal and experience. In a city packed with chain restaurants and predictable menus, places like this are what make Hattiesburg's food scene worth exploring. If you're willing to step outside your comfort zone a little, you'll be rewarded with creative dishes, quality ingredients, and flavors you'll still be thinking about on the drive home. We'll absolutely be back.
