Was going to do a live Yelp during procedure, but just had fun with the staff instead
    Darren B.

Decided it was finally time for "The Snip", so set-up a consultation, which went well, and then scheduled the procedure which was done in-house. Obviously, this decision isn't made lightly, but assume many men back out or drain themselves mentally in the lead up, but I just wanted it over so I could get back to my outdoor activities. Getting into the room, dropping your pants and essentially plopping yourself up onto the table is as close as a man will get to having a Pap Smear. It's physically and literally a moment, if it were in a movie, that all guys would shudder at the thought of a knife near your goods. They tell you to bring music to listen too, and I brought some, but didn't really use it as I was chatting with the Dr. and nurse (which is also strange because you know your marble sack is split open) Just have fun with it, because honestly, there is nearly ZERO pain. Even when the needle punched through the marble sack, was more reactionary than pain, it just caught me off guard. You feel a twinge when he clamps a marble off and see a puff of smoke from cauterizing, but you feel nothing, and then it's over. There really was almost no pain during the procedure or after during the recovery; this will vary between individuals, but honestly, it was a very simple, pain-free procedure for me personally. The staff was very personable, proficient and professional.

It's with a heavy heart that I have to give a bomb review of this office…read more It's never a good idea to let the office administrators run wild and act like queen bees. All the good work of Dr Weintraub and the nurse practitioner Rodarte are wasted when somebody in the front desk behaves imperiously and cuts you off when you're in a tight spot. Dr Weintraub is wonderfully funny and Light and kind. The Nurse Practitioner is great and most of his office staff could be very good too. Having said that, over the years I have noticed that that kind and light and fun way does not translate into some of the office policies that affect my experiences. 1). They prefer the fax machine to relay test orders to Quest instead of emailing. Faxes cannot be verified. I spent 4 hours at a quest waiting for a walk-in appointment (I should have made a reservation as Quest heavily favors appointments these days) and ran into quite the problem as a result of it. The first problem of course not having an order meant that I had to call the doctor's office while I the flambotimist chair. Dr. Weintraubs staff wanted to fax the order again. Juan Carlos the flabatomist at Quest said it would have taken an extra 25 minutes inside the Quest system and they were close to closing time so I asked them to email it which they said they would do. I said please do it right away because there were people waiting for me and some had waited for 4 hours themselves. 2). Queen bees in an office will ruin it for you and for the good doctors and good staff people that are in that office. I followed up 5 minutes later when nothing came through and called. Someone picked up and hung up. I called back a third time and got eventually was transferred to Ariel the office worker who helped me reschedule my appointment as I was concerned that the test results would not be back by my original appointment on the 7th. Ariel assumed that I was blaming her for the email not coming through and she was repeatedly talking over me insisting that only a fax authorization was the way that their policy worked..... even though the girl who picked up the phone 5 minutes before said she would email it. Juan Carlos and I rolled our eyes. I asked for her supervisor when she refused to email the order and she said that the supervisor wasn't available and I said I would bomb their office with a bad Yelp review and she freaked out and said, "you're threatening to bomb our office I'm going to hang up the phone on you! ". She then did so and I left a voice message for Dr Weintraub to call me directly if I'm posting this he chose not to do it. Luckily for me Juan Carlos at Quest was listening the whole time. I am so very disappointed and unhappy with Ariel's Behavior and the general policy of relying on Antiquated fax communication like it's 1968 that I am seriously considering moving to a different urologist after 30 years of ups and downs .....it's a sad ending.

So I called and spoke to Kathy. I told her I had an MRI done on June 26th 2016 in a mobil unit parked outside of their office on Sepulveda. She said I would have to go there to get my records. So I drive through bumper to bumper traffic in the rain and when I arrived, the woman behind the desk said, "I spoke to you on the phone". The truck wasn't out front, so I asked why she told me to drive there, knowing she wouldn't be able to assist me. A guy working with her joked, "don't worry, the truck has LoJack", then explained the records weren't on the truck anyway but at their central office. He called and left a voice mail with that office, then promised to call me back the next day. Of course, he didn't. The following week, I called and spoke to him. He put me on hold and let Kathy deal with me. It was clear they had completely forgotten about me. Kathy said she was putting a rush on it, then corrected herself, saying it had already been sent, so they couldn't put a rush on it. She told me to call the following day. The next day, I called and got their voice mail so I drove over there again. I have an appointment with a new urologist tomorrow and want him to compare his new MRI with the old one. Does everyone have to go through all this hassle, just to get their medical records? When I showed up, Kathy said the MRI still hadn't arrived. I asked if they could just email a PDF of the email to my urologist and she said yes. I called two hours later and she said it hadn't arrived but she would call me. Now they are closed and she never called me. My doctor's appointment is at 9am tomorrow, 20 miles away. After this experience, I wouldn't trust them with my dog. There is absolutely no sense of urgency with these people, even when you are dealing with cancer, as I am. My suggestion? If your doctor uses Skyline Urology, find another doctor!

I highly recommend Dr. Alinsod for his exceptional care and personalized approach. If I were to offer any constructive suggestions, it would be to measure and gather more data in-office. For example: body-mass-index, baseline hearing, baseline vision (I acknowledge the existence of audiologists and optometrists, but having basic data for the visit would be useful), lung function/capacity, basic strength, basic flexibility, and basic skin exam. I realize that doing this would likely necessitate the acquisition of additional equipment, but it would certainly help the patient to avoid what may be seen as unnecessary trips to yet more offices. Terrible experience…read more This clinic never answers the phone, never calls back, and you can drive all the way there only to find it closed. We have been trying to reach them and schedule an appointment for more than two weeks with no success. We don't even know if the doctor is good or not, because it's impossible to get through to anyone. It's simply not worth the stress of waiting for someone to finally call back after leaving dozens of voicemail messages. Because of this, we have already requested to switch to another clinic and will be scheduling our appointments there instead. Completely unprofessional and unreliable.

Can I give negative stars?…read more First I should mention that this is just a satellite office and not a main office. And by satellite office I mean a closet where they only see patients and do nothing else. It literally has the smallest waiting room I have ever seen. It is just four chairs and the space is so small that it doesn't matter which chair you sit it, you will get hit by a door. Either the door leading into the office from the hallway or the door leading to the exam rooms, but have no doubt, you WILL get hit by a door. Then once in the exam room, also miniature size, the doctor just asked me a couple of questions and then scheduled me for a test in downtown LA. No real exam, just a couple of questions and then tell me to spend an hour in traffic going downtown. If I wanted to go downtown I wouldn't have scheduled an appointment in Burbank! I asked if there was anywhere else I could do the test and they said no, they only do it in Downtown LA. I ended up cancelling the test and scheduled an appointment with another Urologist who actually gave me a full examination. Maybe these guys should go to my new doctor to see how it's done. Everyone in this office should be embarrassed!
