I did appreciate they gave me 2 extra cups so I was able to easily divide it for my 3 kids. The ice cream itself was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately, there was a noticeable rancid oil smell inside the shop, which detracted from the experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is plenty of indoor seating, but the space lacks much ambiance or character.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]On a nice day, the outdoor area is definitely the better option.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One downside is parking. Much of the street parking in 12 South has recently been changed to permit-only, which is a huge bummer. There are a few spots directly in front of the shop, but your best bet is probably parking near Sevier Park and walking over. Overall, it was okay, but given the price and the experience, I wouldn't go out of my way to return. read more

As a lover of fries dipped in ice cream, Fryce Cream has been on my radar for a while but parking in 12S overwhelms me. While a friend was in town and on the 4th of July where the area was far less busy we made the trip over there! The seasonal ice cream was peach - which is one of my favorite summer flavors! I thought the ice cream was good, I really loved the pickle dip for the fries on the side, and I got just the plain salted fries which were also good. However, as a place that does just fries and ice cream I expected the fries to be more than just good. Maybe getting a flavor would have improved them but I think the basic fry should stand out on its own. We had arrived shortly after opening the the grease from the fryer kinda filled the space as well, which wasn't the most appetizing smell but it's hard with a mostly open kitchen. So glad they're back open for the 2024 season! You will not find better soft serve in Nashville, it is so custardy but not too heavy. They rotate fun seasonal flavors too, like peach or blood orange. When you order their classic "Fryce cream" you get a generous portion of fries, topped with one of their fun seasonings, a sauce, and your choice of soft serve. You can add soft serve toppings for a small additional fee. The owners are a very kind couple (who now recognize us when we walk in, because we love it here!) I LOVE the concept of this place! It took me back to when I would go get a chocolate frosty and fries from Wendy's! This is just a great twist on a good childhood memory! There's a lot of great topping options for your soft serv, they have a special flavor of the month (when I was there it was Dr Pepper), you can get seasoning on your fries, a soda float, and so much more! The gentleman that took my order was extremely helpful and honest on how big the fry baskets are. I was going to get 2 baskets and since it was just me and my 2 girls he suggested we just get one basket! Very helpful, because we didn't even finish one basket between the 3 of us. This is one of my favorite hidden gems in Nashville. It's such a simple concept but they do such a great job with it. The quality of both the soft serv & their fries are excellent. The toppings, fry seasoning, & dipping sauce are all done so well & are so creative. I also love the changing seasonal rotations incorporated into the menu. The owners are wonderful & really seem to love engaging with the community & meeting customers. They truly make you feel like family when you visit. It's located in 12 South so parking is always a little challenging, but we've always found free street parking in the adjacent neighborhood (Paris Ave). The space is small, but big enough to come in and sit if you wish when it is not super busy or you have the option to go up to the window to place a to-go order. My husband and I split the $10 combo of fries and ice cream. You can get a scoop of ice cream for $4.50 then add toppings for $1/topping. We got the combo then just added an additional ice cream since he was craving something than myself. I went to town on the fries, and really think they paired well with their seasonal ice cream flavor that I had. Even better to say that the ice cream is homemade! So happy that we did, as it was a terrific combination of excellent customer service, a superb vibe, and a unique offering.
