This place is easily the best restaurant to get the most authentic Italian food here in the south…read more Daniele, the owner of this place, is the son of the famed owner of Bellini's in Cubao X, so you're sure you're in for a real good treat. This place can be easily missed if you're along Sucat road because it's quite discreet-looking and has no parking. But inside is a different story--the vibe is reminiscent of Bellini's. It's cozy, homey, and filled with Italian-themed decor, a leaning tower of Pisa, and so on. You'll forget that you're in bustling, polluted Sucat road! We got the Aglia Oglio Pasta, and a Mushroom Risotto (that they made vegan just for me! Just ask nicely). Both dishes were really topnotch and exceeded our expectations (though to be honest, we had none at this particular time. I mean, any meal after a 10-hour trip from Vigan, Ilocos will be satisfying). Their servers are very accommodating, and at that time they were offering us these really fresh, gigantic portobello mushrooms they had that looked so tempting (but were quite pricey--though to be honest, I STILL think about that moment. What if we had gotten those mushrooms?!?! WHAT IF). Just like Bellini's, at the end of your meal you are treated to a complimentary jigger of Italian sweet wine. Bellisimo!

I'm not usually a fan of thin-crust pizza, but Mama Lou's changed my mind…read more Me and my fabulous hubby were in the mood for some pizza, and Mama Lou's had captured my husband's interest for a while. We visited it for our anniversary, and the Italian bistro interior was truly captivating. They had some watercolor advertisement prints, a nice wine rack, and other touches to sell the bistro atmosphere. The supervisor, Mark, was extremely engaging, and along with our server, Aira, made sure that our visit was stellar. We enjoyed talking with Mark very much. We chose to eat the spinach and artichoke dip, the mozzarella sticks, and two fourteen-inch pizzas. I LOVED the pepperoni pizza. It had a spicy, addictive sauce that really gave it oomph. The assorted meat pizza was great, but I'm not the biggest fan of Canadian bacon. It was still delicious but didn't wow me as much as the pepperoni did. The thin crust delivered on its promise: tender dough under the toppings with a crisp, cracker like crust. We truly enjoyed the experience. The dip had this baked cheese crust that really elevated the taste, and was served with fluffy, flour tortilla, fried chips. This dish was my second favorite next to the pepperoni pizza. The mozzarella sticks were also amazing, with what seemed like hand breading. I'm used to the kind of mozzarella sticks you get in diners, so these sticks tasted a bit... classier? I think that's how I'd describe it. Anyway, I invite you to give Mama Lous in the Nuvali Solenad Mall a try. I think you'll be happy you visited.

It was cooked medium and I guess I shouldn't ordered medium to begin with and a steak on a filipino guised italian restaurant. Service of course is not good but works when I wave my hand for 2 minutes :)

I was travelling and this was my only visit for lunch. It was a great meal. The inside of the…read morerestaurant is decorated well. There is seating upstairs. The place is a great setting for a power lunch, "ladies who lunch", or a very nice dinner. I ordered a bellini and it was great. Not too sweet and just the right alcohol content. For the meal we ordered the lobster ravioli and a meat pizza. My only critique of the meal is that although the pizza was good, perhaps a Neapolitan style would make it more authentic and differentiate from other available pizzas. The service was exceptional. The prices were reasonable for what we ordered. I noticed in the menu other full meal classic Italian meals for moderate prices. One more critique, the tiramisu seemed like it was not thawed out enough indicating too frozen. The cappuccinos were deftly made with authentic italian brew. All ingredients were authentic including the gorgonzola cheese on the salads. Definitely will try this place again, and at night for another meal.

We needed to wait out a huge downpour after dinner so we headed to L'Opera for coffee and dessert…read more L'Opera was a large two story restaurant with an eclectic mix of furnishings and decor following an Italian theme. A trio performed nightly and were quite entertaining playing and singing a mixture of modern and classic songs. Special occassion serenades on request. Sitting upstairs or in the room to the left of the main entrance was quieter. I ordered the panna cotta with mango which was a large slice but was firmer and lacked a certain creaminess than I expected. At least the mango slices and sauce added some sweetness to offset. Not too impressed with dessert but since it's a short walking distance from our new base in BGC will likely try their Italian food in the future. Will update my review at that time.
