Returned for a torta a second time because it was that good ... the 5 stars apply to carne asada torta being delicious- only but this second visit deserves a 3 star . The first time I ordered this same sandwich I asked for Jalapeño's instead of salsa and they gave the torta and side of jalapeño's at no extra charge . Today I was informed that if I wanted jalapeños instead of salsa " on the side" I needed to pay extra?... news to me because this did not happened the last I ordered a torta with Jalapeños instead of salsa. when I received the torta I asked for the jalapenos and they told me jalapeño's are extra if I they give them to me on the side therefore they put them in the torta. I wasn't asking for extra spiciness- I was asking to be given jalapeño's instead of the salsa. If the torta doesn't originally have salsa inside why would they assume I want the jalapenos in the torta. I hope this business stays consistent with service so I can continue requesting the same without surprises and I really hope they can accommodate customers with the choice of Jalapeños or salsa . I don't know who eats salsa inside thrrrr torta but I don't . :/ ... torta with Jalapeños is a must try ! Btw I agree with some of the other yelpers who have yelped about customer service not always being the best ... not all have a welcoming attitude--- nor an attitude that they love what they do... Note to business owner: please consider giving your employees a raise and remove the HARD STOP to choose a TIP before selecting payment because a tip is earned and not just handed over for doing your job. Why request a Tip before customers can even decide if service from star to end is deserving enough of a tip. read more

Came in for the salmon bagel was very fresh and tasty! The customer service was great and there were a few orders ahead of mine normal wait time and then they had my order ready to go. The ambiance to eat there was cozy as well there were a few 2 seater tables and 2 tables that seat 4. read more

Made a return to Frutas after a first visit a few days prior. You can find this place between Little Caesars and Krispy Kreme donuts. Ordered the Milanesa tortas on both visits. Great portions, great flavors and all made with fresh ingredients. Friendly staff and clean dining room. A must try! read more

Customer service was dismal, waited at the register with absolutely no acknowledgment for 10 minutes. One employee was making a salad, but then another employee passed by us and ignored us as well. We finally gave up and left. Also, it smelled. This was our first time and we won't be back. read more

It was not closed yet and we called more than 5 times and they hung up, we arrived to the place and were being rude.

Frutas is a Mexican juicery that serves up smoothies, salads, sandwiches (tortas), fruit bowls etc. I enjoy going here for their natural juices and tortas. The bread on the torta is what makes the sandwich really good, it is perfectly toasted and delivered fresh daily. I've gotten the salad before and in my opinion, it's not worth the price. It's a very basic salad with a protein choice and you're better off making it yourself. The customer service is good, the Hispanic ladies know enough English for you to order and explain what's in each item on the menu, but not to hold a conversation. Plenty of parking in an open parking lot! Would recommend trying out a torta and some juice if in the area. Frutas is a small shop that can seat 12 people. read more

I had not been to Frutas in several years and this week I felt like having a fruit salad. I ordered a torta especial and a small fruit salad. The torta was huge, but I am used to saving the second half for another day, but the fruit salad was very disappointing. I ordered it with mango and watermelon for an extra charge, but the mango was not ripe or ready to be used for salads. It was very hard and without flavor. The other disappointment was the pineapple, another fruit that was not ripe and had not flavor. Why would you sell fruit salads with non-ripe fruits??? read more

This place is ridiculous. I purchased a sandwich and after 30 minute wait and watching other people come in and order and get their food before me I asked how much longer. They insisted it would take another 15 minutes. I wouldn't be so frustrated yet watching other people getting their big orders before mine made me think they did it to me on purpose. I wouldn't recommend this place. My go to place is D-K-Che in Imperial Beach. read more

Food is always amazing here and I always feel healthy when eating it. From what I've noticed, their ingredients are fresh and the fruit always has vibrant colors. Service in my opinion is good. Never been in a busy day though so that might vary. For this review I got the Chia/Energy Bowl with a Diet Juice: mixed greens smoothie. read more

Torta especial and torta de Milanesa 10/10 I love this place, this location and the Chula Vista one are amazing. The tortas, the smoothies, fruit salads, everything is good. Amazing food for a decent price. Service is quick and both places are always clean. read more

I was in the area and was starving. I didn't want fast food and being gluten-free. I needed to watch what I ate. They have a little something for everyone, and it's geared for a healthier approach. I had a salad with salmon on top, and my friend had a wrap that looked filling and delicious. The juices and the cut-up fruit looked amazing, too. If you're in the area please give them a try. read more

I was there the other day, and I ordered three tortas de panela, and it took 27 minutes to get them ready. This is my favorite little Mexican fruit spot because it's affordable and clean, and the food is very delicious. My favorite is probably the Farmers Shrimp Salad because it has different kinds of lettuce, and the cheese is tasty. My Princess doesn't really like juice, but since we've been eating here, she likes it a lot. Thank you, Frutas, for always serving us delicious food and healthy drinks!! read more

The restaurant was nice and clean only thing saving it. The customer service was horrible and rushed with no one in the business by the way. No were on the menu is it listed that it came with any seeds or granola either read more

The food and drinks are good, even the prices are not bad BUT their to go SUCKS. We oder from postmates to have delivered, every single time, we ask and pay for Chipotle sauce. We NEVER get Chips sauce. It's not once, twice, or even 3 times. I thought, maybe they don't read the instructions since they are in English, ok this time I wrote them in Spanish and STILL NO Chipotle Sauce. I get it, it's only .75 cents but it's the point and inconvenience of it all. Just don't have it as an option to pay .75 cents and then not get it. read more

Love the food, smoothies, tortas! Food quality is good here. Sadly, Isabel Ma's service is absolutely horrible. She constantly rolled her eyes at whatever we ordered, was sluggish, sassy, and down right rude. I've been to the Frutas on Third my whole life and was never treated with so much disrespect right off the bat. I'll be coming back to Frutas, just not at the Otay Lakes location. read more

TASTY DELIGHTS BEYOND FRUIT This Frutas is located across the driveway from East lake Church in Chula Vista and next door to Krispy Kreme. It's kind of a hard decision to make a healthy choice for breakfast...umm donuts or fruit? I arrived on Sunday at 1030 AM. Although not crowded, ordering to wait time was 15 minutes. Surprisingly, beyond fruit, smoothies and tortas, Frutas offered lentil soup with oyster crackers. My party ordered avocado toast, apple juice+ginger and a cup of lentil soup. Each item was flavorful. The avocado toast is garnished with a medley of seasonings as well as cut hard boiled egg. And if you want something light, the apple juice and ginger is a refreshing combination in a hot day. The lentil soup was gently seasoned and the broth was good. HIGH FIVES Parking Mostly fresh ingredients Pleasant employees Clean & organized PRICES Fair AMENITIES There are only a few tables and chairs inside. No seating available outside. Service right now was terrible talk about not using common sense. I placed a $40 order over the phone. We arrive the milk shake was ready but the sandwiches weren't. They hand us the milkshake my daughter starts drinking it but they tell us to wait on charge. 10 min later food is ready I go up to pay. She assumed card payment but I have cash she gets bothered says oh sorry wait because everyone pays card. Ok so I wait for her to reset device while she has a bothered mood. What proceeds to happen next though... My order $40 I pay with a $100 bill she says I'm not sure if I have change doesn't even open the register. She flies the bill on the air and asks the lady with bright orange hair, "tenemos cambio?" She replies without even checking no no no tenemos cambio. Walks up to me and says I don't know what you're going to do but we don't have change. What am I gonna do what are you going to do is what's going through my brain I'm here order already being consumed and I'm paying. My daughter gives me an embarrassed look so I ask her politely what would you like to do. She tells me rudely you're gonna have to go ask the businesses next door if they have change. Lady why didn't you go ask your neighbors for change? Anyway I'm go but they don't have change I come back and tell her they didn't have change and offer keep the bill I'll be back this afternoon for my change and again she rudely replies we can't do that! At this point I'm pissed off and reply ok what do you want to do? I'm offering for you to keep the money if not too bad I'll come back later and pay and her answer man Well I do have change but then I won't have change in case another customer needs it. Are you Efren kidding me? Are you for real? You just made me waste 30 min go around the shopping center asking for change made my daughter later for school and all of this for a customer that doesn't even exist or may not even come in?? Lady give me my damn change use your common sense next time give your current customer change and if you need change arrange a run to the bank. Chocomil banana milkshake was bland Sand which was good Customer service 0 stars Food 3 stars although it's normally good read more
