Fruta is a charming little spot that's perfect for enjoying a refreshing Aqua Fresca and some delicious ice cream! The customer service was absolutely delightful; they really went out of their way to cater to my needs. On the flip side, I wasn't a fan of the cucumber and lemonade drink. It had way too much cucumber pulp, leaving a rather bitter aftertaste that didn't sit well with me. However, the ice cream was truly a highlight! Would I consider returning? Perhaps! While it may not be my top choice for ice cream, I can see Fruta as a solid backup option when I'm in the mood for a sweet treat. Thanks for being a part of Sonoma County! read more

Fruta - Strawberries Strawberry N' Cream Paleta - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Santa Rosa, California

I always forget there's a Fru-ta in Rincon Valley! I stopped by with my little brother for an ice cream date and when we walked in staff was very welcoming and polite. While I did find the price point for 2 ice creams and 2 drinks on the higher end than what I expected, both the ice creams and drinks were honestly really good. The shop is very clean and indoor/outdoor seating is ample. I had the Nutella ice cream and a Strawberry drink. My brother had a Raspberry ice cream and Guava drink. We enjoyed our ice cream outside and enjoyed the sun. Overall Fru-ta is a must try if you have a sugar craving, bonus points because most choices on the menu are preservative/additive free. Friendly staff, yummy choices. 9/10. read more

We love Fru-ta! Have been here a few times now. We take our niece here after the Howarth Park playgrounds, as part of our fun weekly playdate. We've had the banana chocolate chip, the strawberry cookies and cream and the regular cookies and cream and it's all been good. The fruit ice creams taste of real fruit... not too surprising given the name of the place. The strawberry has been intensely strawberry, and the banana intensely banana. No artificial flavors here. The cookies and cream portion has huge chunks of cookies, and taste how you want it to. You can just tell whoever is making this ice cream, they care. They want it to taste great. You can tell that they were making their own ice cream before they had their own shop, and want to share their joy with the world without skimping on the ingredients. I don't know if that's their story, but that's how it tastes. Our barely two year old niece of course loves it here. She's so cute, trying to say hi to the woman behind the counter after she tastes the ice cream. Very smart to make friends with the ice-cream lady. :) Can't wait to try more flavors and perhaps some of their other stuff on the menu. read more

Now don't get me wrong; Fru-ta has some pretty tasty ice cream here. But when compared to some of the other local favorites like Noble Folk and Two Dog Night, their ice cream is average. Ended up stopping here for a night cap before hitting up Howarth Park. I actually wanted to go to Noble Folk, but my friend was raving about this place, so we decided to stop by for some ice cream. Fru-ta actually has several locations within this area, so you can refer to it as a local chain ice cream shop. They specialize mainly in popular Mexican ice cream flavors, but of course a few classics are also on the list. I personally adore Mexican ice cream, so I was super excited to try this small ice cream chain. This particular location is located in a small shopping center. At the time that we went, the inside was closed and they had a small kiosk right in front of their building where you could place your order (I think they've opened the inside again since my visit). Ended up ordering a small size of their Rum Raisin and Chonga Zamorano. What's nice is that they are still allow in f samples during COVID. I was able to sample a few until k finally settled on those two flavors. A small size is definitely small. If that's what you're truly going for, then it will fit the bill. This is a shop that won't hit you with that hefty scoop game, but the prices are cheap and you get what you pay for. Both ice cream flavors were really yummy. Not as creamy as you'd find at Noble Folk or Two Dog Night, but it still hits the spot. They also weren't offering waffle bowls or cones at the time, but I'm sure they've resumed this since then. Would have loved to enjoy my ice cream in a cone, and maybe they would have given me a little bit more. The lady working the kiosk was super sweet and helpful. Service is definitely on point. I don't know... maybe I'm spoiled by the creameries in the area, but nothing really stood out to me here. I would still come back to try out some of their other flavors. In fact, I do plan on it since I'm in the area frequently. Plus, the restrictions have gotten a lot less strict since my last visit, and I'd like to see what it's like post-COVID. read more

The staff were amazing and very patient! She allowed us to taste test some of the flavors and was being very kind throughout my interaction with her. I had the coffee and peanut butter chocolate chip scoop in the smallest cup size. The coffee tasted good as expected! There was a cappuccino flavor I taste tested that was similar and contained nuts in it! The peanut butter chocolate chip flavor was amazing! There was no big peanut butter cup chunks in it and was more blended in with the ice cream than other places I have been to, but I prefer this! Would come here again to satisfy an ice cream/yogurt fix. read more

Can't believe I've never written a review for Fruta - a delicious warm day treat. Very unique ice cream and ice pops. They had a great setup for Covid but it's much nicer to be able to go in and see all the amazing frozen pop flavors. I wish I thought to grab a picture. Today my daughter got a mango pop and I got a spicy mango, my favorite. My husband is lactose intolerant, they do have a few options without dairy. One day I will try one of the other flavors... read more

We came here because they claimed to have vegan and dairy-free options. My kid has a dairy allergy so we thought this would be a safe option. On the wall menu, they have a section that lists all items that are dairy-free. They also wrap each paleta with a protective covering and keep all dairy free options on one side of the freezer, so things seemed promising. We ordered a dairy free one for my child. Half way though eating, my kid went into anaphylaxis. If you are dairy intolerant or allergic to anything, STAY AWAY. This place is NOT SAFE from cross contamination. I would give it zero stars given our experience. But aside from the allergy, the place is clean and there are many options hence the 2 stars. We also tried coconut, guava (too many seeds), mango, strawberry and cream (basically a creamscicle). I appreciate that they are not too sweet. read more

Did not know they did Açaí bowls here and boy am I glad that they do! Tasted so fresh and made with organic granola it was truly one of the best açaí bowls and not overpriced at all. Very filling and such a friendly environment. Can't wait to go back and keep supporting! Got one for my friend who is a diehard açaí bowl lover and she absolutely loved it so if you like them, definitely try out Fru*ta next time you're craving one, you won't regret it! read more

Haven't been here in a while and forgot how much I love it! They have a few fresh house-made drinks and a huge selection of ice cream & fruit/cream-based paletas, also vegan-friendly. We got their triple scoop in a waffle bowl for $6.75, great deal for three large scoops. The server was patient and let us sampled a few flavors before we decided on blackberry cheese (love this), cookies n creme (also love), and banana chocolate chip (boyfriend loved). I like that they use wooden spoons but my one suggestion would be to replace the styrofoam with a more eco-friendly/compostable alternative! read more

This location's always super clean and the service is fast and friendly. They have lots of goodies to choose from. Love this place! My husband was craving ice cream tonight, & found this place on Google, since we're visiting from Honolulu. We got there at about 8:30pm, a half hour before closing. Mariana was the young lady who mostly waited on us, & she is exceptional! The other young lady was very friendly & helpful as well. Mariana took the time to explain the different items they had to offer (we'd never been there before, of course), what the ingredients were, offered samples of everything, & even explained that it's a family-owned business (which made us like it even more.) My husband was in the mood for chocolate, so he got a scoop of the Chocolate de Italia & a scoop of the Coconut. I got the Tequila (like a cocktail & dessert rolled into one!) Yum!! They were all REALLY good! (Fru-ta's Coconut is better than any coconut ice cream I've had in Hawaii! ) I can't wait to go back & try all the other flavors! Fru-ta's ice cream quality is so good, you can not go wrong w/any flavor you order. read more

Great Staff | FAVORITE PLACE TO GET ICE CREAM $ If you LOVE ice cream, stop going to those other ice cream places like Cold Stone Creamery and Baskin Robbins 31. Those are chains; support your local businesses! I always end up chugging a gallon of water every time after I have a scoop... or two. I believe there are 2 locations. LOTS of items on their menu and a great clean interior. Every time I go there, which is pretty often, it's always clean. The staff always greets you and offers you samples. They don't make me feel rushed at all. Made from all natural ingredients! Their flavors are super bold whereas other places have a muted flavor. They have different flavors from cheese to fruits I've never heard of before. I love their strawberry cheese cake, pistachio, nutella, blackberry cheese, and any coffee flavor. I'm not a regular there... lol read more

This place is AMAZING! They provide the most freshest and high quality treats. The environment is friendly, clean, and comfortable; in fact, this location seems to be less busy than the one on Stony Point Rd. Each time I go, I always get attended quickly, without having to form a large line. They have a large variety of ice cream flavors, sorbets, yogurts, ice cream bars, fruit bars, fruit drinks, smoothies, chocolate covered fruits, and specialty desserts. My favorite by far is the Bionico, fruit mixed in sweet cream - it's so delicious! And if you want authentic Horchata, this is the place to go! They make their Horchata from scratch... I love Fruta. I visit both locations depending where I'm at. The employees are usually young adults and they have always been really friendly. Lots of different Ice creams or soberts to chose from and they have some interesting flavors.... Cheese, Rose Petal and many more. The Pecan ice cream is tasty!!! My main reason of going is the fruit cocktail, it has mango, cucumber and jicama and it's topped with a few differnt sauces . Wish there was one in my town but the 20 minute drive isn't to bad. read more

Long overdue review of Fru-ta. My boyfriend lives a few blocks away from this location and visits frequently since he moved to Santa Rosa a few years ago. Every time I come to visit I absolutely have to make a stop here - ideally multiple times! I hunkered down with him since COVID hit in March 2020, and we wondered what would come of our favorite local ice cream spot. Fru-ta adapted wonderfully to the situation by creating an outdoor ordering window to keep their workers and customers safe. I think they took it down when the wildfires were raging nearby (it was made of wood), but now they have online ordering available. We haven't used it yet, as we typically pop in during off hours, but we're glad it's an option. The paletas are refreshing, ice cream is creamy (not to mention that in our experience portions have been very generous!), and the girls who work behind the counter are so sweet and kind. I always try to tip them extra whenever I have small bills. One of these days I should just drop a $20 in the tip jar. They deserve it! Note to management: PLEASE let us tip electronically!! Especially in the pandemic I don't like to handle cash. Also, we are not Latinx/Hispanic and I appreciate that the girls are always happy to explain to us what certain flavors and some of the other treats are. I live in a predominantly Latinx area in the South Bay and I wish Fru-ta would open a location down there! We love you, Fru-ta! read more

The ice cream here is Delicious. The rose flavor is so good and unlike any flavor anywhere else. The scoop sizes are very generous as well. All 3 of us loved our ice cream and ate every bite. My only complaints are it was messy, and their outside tables as well, doesn't seem like anyone is on cleaning duty throughout the day, we found the cleanest table possible and even that's as dirty. Also the staff isn't very friendly. They all very much seemed like they did not want to be there and were not welcoming with smiles or anything. read more

The paletas outshone the ice cream for us! We loved the cookies and cream, pistachio, mango, and pineapple. They were perfectly sweet and flavors were true. The fruit bars even had real chunks of fruit! read more

I'd seen this place around, but due to the name thought it was just juice. Wrong! They also have really delicious ice cream and Mexican-style fruit popsicles. As for ice cream flavors, I've enjoyed the caramel, Nutella, curdled milk (yep, for realz), coconut, and the one with Ferraro Rocher in it. I want to try the cheese, walnut, and corn flavors next. They've also got a small selection of sorbets. The branding is also really fresh and clean. It's a pleasant way to spend a post-park afternoon, drinking horchata while kids hang out at the kid-size table. read more

Love this place! High quality ice cream and desserts, honestly you can taste such a difference between these ice creams and your typical ice cream bar. Usually a line because they're so delicious and I love that they frequently have new, fresh flavors. Staff is always attentive and good! Good flavor. I've been there twice this week. A friend of mine recommended I go and so I did. Tostilocos are good, I just wish they added "cueritos". Omg I was so astonished at how amazing their fruit cocktail was! Their bionco is a must order and a must try because if you don't you are definitely missing out on it! The cashier was very friendly and helped me very well. I was from out of town and I wasn't sure how things worked. She said that for the bionco there are two options. Some people get the fruits with yogurt or with milk cream. She said that the milk and cream was more popular with the fruits. When I took the first bite I almost cried at how wonderful it tasted. It had fresh fruits such as banana, strawberry, granola, mango, apples, raisins, coconut shavings, condense milk, and mango. It was soooo good and I'm sad that it was over in a heart beat, but being able to just sit down and relax while listening to music and enjoying my bionco on a rainy day was the best relaxation I've had in a long time. read more

Fru-Ta!!! This is a hidden gem. A few months ago someone mentioned it, but I couldn't find it off of mission. It's right behind the McDonald's on Mission. If you're in the neighborhood, drive right past McDonald's and stop by. I stopped in for the bionico on the recommendation of a friend. This was amazing. I've never had anything like it. The fruit was all fresh and the cream had the perfect amount of sweetness. While standing in line, I saw the many favors of ice cream. NUTELLA ice cream? Who would have thought? I had to sample it. I then walked out with a scoop of it at 10:30am. It's that good. They have many other favors as well. I'll be back to try the other flavored and treats. On a separate note...this shop was clean and the girl working the counter was extremely friendly and helpful. I applaud Fru-ta for a job well done. Give it a try! read more

I had to make a yelp just to complain about the fruta drink because it got me so mad instantly. As soon as I got it, it was hella messy and that the drink spilled all over my pants. Secondly, the most annoying thing is that they put a ton of ice, that it was comparable to a Starbucks drink, and hella fruits that I couldn't drink any of the act drink from the thin straws.
