Our açaí bowls were on the watery side. It wasn't on the cold, thick, icy side. That is so weird; I have never seen this before. The toppings of banana slices, strawberries, and blueberries were also very, very scarce. I didn't know I was supposed to tell the guy that I wanted almond butter "on top," so it was blended (eewww) into my açaí base! It gave it a slimy texture which was so gross. If you're paying over $10 for an açaí bowl, I feel like it should be good. I gave this place a 2 because I'm not coming back. To end on a positive note, my husband liked his mango smoothie. If you want a recommendation for an amazing açaí place, go to Berry Brand in Tustin. I've tried the Nekter location near UCI, and that one tasted good. That was maybe a year ago, though.

I took a seat at one of the tables along the wall and proceeded to devour my bowl. I liked this place so much, I came back 2 days later, before I left to fly back home. Fruithies is certainly my go to place for smoothies, bowls and juice after a good workout at the nearby 24 hour fitness. The have a good selection of bowls and lots of healthy juice options. I like their Nutty Acai bowl and the Berry Blast (with added peanut butter). They are usually pretty empty so I never wait long. They make their juices right there on the spot and have a wide selection of juice options. Unlike Jamba Juice (which is as healthy as McDonalds) they actually have raw fruits and vegetables. They also have Pitaya (I don't know what that is but I assume it's healthy) haha. Parking is free just make sure you enter on the side and not through the gated entry. read more

Between our group, we ordered the chocolate strawberry, blueberry vanilla, cookies and cream, and peanut butter chocolate smoothies. I really don't like saying this, especially about a small business, but I honestly hated every single one of them. I tried all four flavors, and I genuinely couldn't get past more than one sip of each. The biggest issue was the texture and consistency. All four smoothies were weirdly warm, which was already a little off-putting since we were expecting something cold and refreshing after playing tennis. On top of that, they were incredibly watery, but somehow they were also bubbling and fizzing despite not being carbonated drinks. I understand that this is a nutrition-focused shop, so I wasn't necessarily expecting the same kind of smoothie I'd get from a regular boba or smoothie place. However, I was still hoping for something that tasted like the flavors we ordered. Unfortunately, the protein powder taste completely overpowered everything else, and I could barely distinguish the different flavors. We all ended up trying each other's drinks to see if maybe someone had ordered a better flavor, but unfortunately, none of us enjoyed any of them. In the end, we actually threw all four smoothies away, which is something I really hate doing, especially after spending money on them. Overall, I feel pretty conflicted writing this review because the lady working there was genuinely so sweet, and I really do want to see small businesses succeed. However, I also want to be honest about our experience, and unfortunately, these were some of the least enjoyable smoothies I've tried. Between the warm temperature, watery yet fizzy consistency, and overwhelming protein powder flavor, they just weren't what any of us were hoping for. I really wish I had something more positive to say about the drinks themselves, but I don't see myself coming back for another smoothie. I do appreciate the kindness and service we received, though, and I hope others who enjoy this style of nutrition smoothie have a better experience than we did!
