I had this place saved to get some good dessert on Amalfi and it did not disappoint!…read more Gelato from the booth opposite the main location and a cannoli from the actual cafe. Cannoli was decent - crunchy shell with creamy filling, but I've had better Cannoli in Rome. Gelato was delicious! Proper creamy and actually authentic! Got the Cioccolato con Caco del Madagascar (basically a chocolate gelato) + Ricotta Stregata (a ricotta flavor) in a cone. It was a really lovely combination and so perfect for a hot day.

A local classic, this caffe and pasticceria is one of the most famous (if not the most famous)…read moredessert and pastry shop in Amalfi. This address is the main location along Via Duca Mansone I, they also have a couple other smaller chocolate and gelato boutiques, the closest being diagonally across the piazza in front of the Amalfi Cathedral. Outdoor seating set out on the stone street fronts with a cream and wood color scheme and table umbrellas for shade. The store interior shouts classic European emporium, warm, medium-tone wooden display fixtures and wall paneling with mirrors and glass. A handful of golden chandeliers and pendant lights. Most importantly--many glass displays of pastries, cakes, chocolates, cookies. The staff is forthcoming and friendly, ready to help when I mentioned looking for a snack without certain ingredients. Their English was much better than my (non-existent) Italian. I ended up purchasing a little bag of almond cookies €6, with a texture between almond cake and marzipan, baked in little mini cupcake cup shapes. They were tasty though a little on the sweet side. Prices in the store were pretty typical for Amalfi Coast though I think a little higher than average pasticcerias in other Italian cities. I had planned to drop by again to try their gelato though alas didn't have the chance again when I was there. If I ever go back to Amalfi will drop by again!

I think it's funny to read some reviews saying, "This place is a tourist trap!" I hate to break it…read moreto you, but this whole city is a tourist trap. Once, you come to terms with that, the price of stuff becomes relative. Was this place a bit pricey? Yes. However, it compared to the other stands surrounding it and it had some really excellent sorbet, granita and fresh fruit. We first took notice of this place while we were walking up the stairs to get to lunch. I knew I wanted to check it out after lunch because the guy working there was seriously out of control, in the best way possible. He was working the stand, trying to get people to come in and I respected his hustle. He got me. The outside has examples of the lemons and oranges you can get in the region. I liked that this was a way to decorate. There isn't any seating and the stand is very small, the 4 of us couldn't all fit in at the same time. The granita I got with strawberries on top was seriously amazing. My friends husband got the Amalfi Dream, which was essentially orange sorbet. It was freaking amazing, so rich and creamy I thought it was a sherbet. It wasn't. I'd gladly pay 20 Euro for the 4 of us to get these treats again, especially when a fancy cup of gelato in Vegas is getting close to $10. Gladly.

does have prices listed then charged us 15 euros for sour orange juice. do waste your time here…read morewhen there's a lot of good places steps away
