they offer bargain prices and at times when you cut the fruit open even though it looks fine from the outside it,s rotten on the inside.

Thank you Hannah's hut for saving so many of my meals!! I came here on a friend's recommendation…read moreand I'm so glad I did! They have some of the freshest, best priced produce anywhere around. Some stuff that's hard to find at IGA and Metro? Bet you Hannah's hut's got it. For a place that looks so small, I've been amazed at how it feels like a Mary poppins bag. Twice now was looking for stuff I couldn't find (coconut shavings, and poppyseed), asked an employee, and a fast moving korean lady would come out the back and find exactly what it is and where in random spots. They pack a lot in those shelves! And stuff I thought I'd only find in Chinatown or Asian grocery stores, they have it pretty much all the major staples here!! Fruits and veggies are fresher here than anywhere else in my opinion. And fresh herbs! Thank God I don't need to learn how to urban plant stuff during lockdown because I suck at keeping succulents alive. They also have some fresh cold pressed juices, an impressive nut display, an entire wall of organic teas, and some korean/Asian prepared foods (kimbap, kimchi, bimbimbap, Vietnamese rolls). They even have some OG Chinese tiger balm and pei pa kao tucked near the bottom of the side of the cash register. They clearly have a more holistic and healthy eating approach with many many choices of gluten free flours and healthy alternatives to most products (like ice cream and frozen meals). Everyone is super nice and they take social distancing and safety seriously even asking some customers to wait when it's busy. A truly wonderful place to shop and get nearly everything you need. Please continue supporting them!

Here's a little context: I used to go to the Maxi for my…read morenon perishables and the Farmer's Market for my produce. However, the farmer's market closed for the winter. It seemed impossible to find good produce at a decent price in CDN, but then my trusty yelp app came in handy and found this place for me. Wow wow wow! It's so cheap! The veggies are always fresh and super cheap. (Big bag of spinach for 2,99$?!) they have produce that's already sorted out for you (ex. Melons that are halved and skinned). Their bakery breads were a little hard the times I went, so I've never bought some, but maybe I'm just uptight about bread, because a lot of people were buying it. They have a small section of processed meat/cheese. Prices are acceptable. The place is rather small, but they carry a lot of products. The staff is super friendly and checkout is always quick. It's also right by a bus stop and the metro! The only thing I'd like is if there were a wider selection of veggies, but given the limited amount of space they have, I understand that they can't have everything. All the basics are there though. If you live in the area and appreciate cheap/fresh produce, go go go!

This Côte-des-Neiges location also has outdoor seating on a deck out front. Be advised, a large coffee to go was dinky compared to standards I'm used to, (see pic,) especially compared to the sizable bowl serving when dining in (see pic). My favorite pastry so far is the scrumptious, sublime Passion Dulce - a shortbread cookie, topped with sponge cake, garnished with a combination passionfruit, banana, mango purée, coated with a fruit icing flavored similar to the purée, then decorated with cream of Dulcey chocolate and roasted sesame seeds. Wow! Had also a taste of my friend's fruit cheesecake. Nice! Also, when picking up for breakfast, explored a savory pastry Pâté Lorrain filled with assorted meats. While tasty and may be traditionally prepared, the filling had a little too much fat for my taste, noticeable even when warmed up. The staff was friendly, although (a very minor issue) on one occasion the lady behind the counter who said she personally will get us our coffee was not the one who made it in the end, also delayed with a bottleneck at the machines. That being said, I'd definitely recommend stopping by a Première Moisson for a bite or picking up something baked.
