I called and scheduled an appointment for the owner - Sarah - to come out to my house and see the spaces I needed light fixtures for and offer suggestions. The service was $100 but that is a credit towards your purchase and then you get 10% off your order as a design client. What a deal! We ended up getting new island pendants, dining room chandelier, and living room chandelier. I love them all! I loved Sarah (so nice and friendly and worked around my taste) but most of all I love how painless the whole process was. My husband and I cannot make a decision for the life of us but Sarah has collected such a great set of fixtures at her store that the decisions were easy and now both of us are happy with our selections. She also offered to come back with some of the ones we liked so that we could see them in the space which was so helpful for indecisive people like us! Lastly, they delivered them to our house when they came in. The service was phenomenal! Beyond the light service - it is just a delight to stop in and look around the store because there are so many fun things to look at. Also, it is just amazing at Christmas time. I bought this adorable santa shaped dish towel last year that is now my favorite Christmas decoration.

We also bought a stunning Green Mountain grill, though from another store. The three items I mentioned in my initial review that we wanted to buy, we would have gladly purchased at Murdoch's if things had gone differently. Since that post, we've returned to Murdoch's twice more, but unfortunately, not much has changed. We've bought five additional guns--but not here, again due to our customer service experiences. When we stopped in during the winter to look at snow blowers, the salesperson couldn't answer our questions confidently. I wish I could give Murdoch's a better rating, but it's just not the kind of experience that makes me want to spend my hard-earned money. Customer service and profiling issues need improvement. This store could have made several sales but missed the mark.
