I acquire supplies and frame myself so this all works pretty well for me too. They also give artists a discount. Parking out front is convenient going in, but getting back out is a bit tricky .. The second time I took some paintings in, they were more expensive and not so good on any price reductions. The 3rd time, I had 4 more framed, and it had gotten very expensive. Each time, I used their "discount" Artist's Corner, so expected better prices. They do a beautiful job, but as an artist, I need to find another framer. Between commission to galleries and expensive framing costs, I am making less on my own paintings than they are. If you are willing to pay the price and can afford it, they do a beautiful and professional job.

I found Sean's suggestions and advice extremely helpful and his execution of the framing to be perfect. He knew just how to work with me, understanding my aesthetic direction and adding ideas and suggesting possibilities in harmony with my vision. But as I said, he's not just good at communicating with artists. I saw him working with other folks and he really knows how to speak anyone's language about framing. His prices are also excellent. Sure, he's not as cheap as Michael's but you're not going to get framing of anywhere near this quality at Michael's either. Here's the story of my experience: After comparison shopping the quality framing shops in Asheville I decided to try Frame It To A T first because they were running a Groupon. It was a wise move. Because I've heard horror stories of framing shops ruining valuable art I decided to have Sean frame a beautiful but not valuable piece and see how he did before I brought him the fancy stuff. His price was very fair and he did a splendid job. So I brought him two limited edition Mark Ryden prints for archival framing. I liked his selection of frames better than those at comparable professional framing shops and he suggested a time of frame insert for one of them that I didn't even know existed. It made the framing especially beautiful and at a very reasonable upcharge. The work was done swiftly and there was excellent communication all along the way. The results were gorgeous. I am completely satisfied. If you want the highest quality framing at an excellent price, Frame It To A T is the place to go.

This art gallery is so inspiring!…read more I definitely recommend this gallery to anyone local or visiting town as it is full of local, colorful folk art. The space itself is gorgeous with rusty orange walls with brick showing through in some areas and beautifully displayed framing supplies behind the counter. This is a pretty small gallery but has lots of really cool art in different mediums as paintings, woodblock prints, relief sculptures, face jugs and other ceramics. Folk art is usually any art created by an artist with no formal training. This gallery carries art mainly by folk artists in the southern region and they carry art by more than 40 different artists. I love to stop by here when I'm downtown and just soak up the colorful, vibrant, thought-provoking art. Some of my favorite work that they are currently carrying is by Kent Ambler (bird prints) and Bernard Gore (wood carvings/paintings). This is a must-visit Asheville gallery.

But, it was packed with unique, locally made art goods (95% Asheville artists, 5% Tennessee/Kentucky they say) that were awesome AND affordable. Pottery, wood carvings, textiles, Christmas ornaments, cookware, glass art, paintings, and more. I liked most everything I saw, and again, it was artistry that wouldn't break your bank. The customer service was so friendly, and the nice lady working really wanted to connect with us, and also tell more about the artists who made some of the different art. Informative, funny, kind - she was great. I would recommend this to EVERY Asheville tourist looking for something unique to take home, rather than junky trinkets made in China that you can find in every American gift shop.

A gift shop with so much character!…read more I don't know how they manage to jam so much amazing gift and art into their shop, but i love to go there to see it all, from wrapping paper to jewelry to books to cards. Perfect place for the quick gift, and the staff is fresh and will gladly help you locate that special thing you're looking for even if you don't know what you want. One child just couldn't handle all the cuteness, he yelled "I want it!" Then promptly had a nuclear-level meltdown. Same, kid, same. I feel you. I scooped up some miniature things, my friend had pens and notecards. Honestly, that kid's mom should have said, "Whist!" which in Irish or Scottish dialects means "Hush!" or "Shut it!" There's so much to see here. This is a fun shop.
