My son tried to order a grasshopper milkshake, but was informed that they had run out of mint. Instead he picked a regular sized hot fudge milkshake and a sloppy joe sandwich. Being allergic to peanuts, I asked the girl at the counter what was in a couple of the flavours of flurries on the menu, and while she was super nice, she was also super clueless, as she had to ask two different people each time. After eventually confirming that the black forest flurry did not have any of The Legume of Satan in it, I ordered a junior size, plus a coney dog. In total our bill came to $10.80, which seemed very reasonable for the amount of food we ordered. The wait to receive our food was pretty typical at just a few minutes. When it arrived, we were pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes, as the junior flurry was generously sized, and the sloppy joe was a full-sized sandwich rather than the skimpier version you might get elsewhere. Taste-wise, our orders were great, as my son declared the hot fudge milkshake to be excellent and my black forest flurry was very good. Likewise the coney sauce on my dog had a great, meaty flavour, and I really appreciated how it did not turn the hotdog bun into a soggy mess! While I liked the easy parking, great selection, and good tasting food, it could not completely make up for the otherwise clueless staff or ingredient shortages. As such, I rate Uncle Mike's Dairy Bar as being Good and would return.

This place is perfect for a Tuesday night when you don't feel like cooking. My parents even insist that we eat there when they come to visit because they don't have a Big Boy near where they live. I've never had a bad meal at the Tiffin Location. The service is almost always EXCELLENT. The staff are generally friendly & attentive. From the people that have been there for years to the high school kids working there after school, I always know I'll get great service. Obviously, I can't speak to the kitchen, but the only real criticism of the Tiffin location is that the dining room needs a really good top to bottom clean (maybe during off-hours) or close for a day or something. The actual surfaces are clean enough, but it's kind of gross sitting under those weird track light fixtures that are caked with dust. Same for the window sills if you're in a booth toward the front. But there's opportunity to easily correct that; and I hope they do. But it's been like that for the 3 years I've live in Tiffin, so I'm not going to hold my breath.
