Was hungry for a pastrami sandwich on Friday so I took Alex's advice and came here for one. First time I've been here, sort of. Growing up here it was Whiteys Jolly Kone and I hung out here. But I've not eaten here for 40 years. So it's my first time. Damn good pastrami sandwich. The best I've ever had. Grilled buttered bun, pastrami grilled so there are little crispy edges, mustard and pickles. And hot as hell peppers on the side. The pastrami was lean and tender, perfectly cooked. Great fries. While frosty King is not the delicious landmark that it's predecessor (the jolly cone) was, it still has a few stand out items on the menu board. I personally love their Tostadas, Tortas, and Breakfast sausage burritos. The burgers, and fries served here are decent, but nothing to write your mama about. My bff and I had a snack here a few days ago, and she was craving taquitos. They were god awful! They looked like bologna rolled up in a tortilla and fried. She said they tasted just as bad as they looked. After paying $4 for 4 skinny, nasty taquitos, she was only able to choke down one, and threw the rest away. I've noticed that their prices have increased recently as well. One of things they had going for them was the good prices for a meal. The service here is always top notch though, and the food usually comes out lightning fast. Just watch out for the taquitos. read more

I have been going to Frosty King, aka Jolly Cone, since I can remember. Normally, I always get a pastrami sandwich & their gigantic bag of superb french fry's, which are always delicious! Today I was craving tacos & the establishment I normally frequent was closed. So tonight I decided to try Frosty King's tacos, as I have never had them before. I HIGHLY recommended getting the Al Pastor tacos on their HANDMADE tortillas!!! They were exceptional!!! I cannot believe I have been missing out on this taco treasure all this time! My Review: If you are dying for a bite to eat DO NOT go to frosty king!!! Why do you ask? 1.The service is horrible the lady has no emotion making ordering a pain in the behind. 2. The price of the food is so overpriced if you do not believe me look at their menu. 3.The food is not good the burritos are flat and they are so stingy with their food. 4. They are so unsanitary they do not wash their hands and don't use gloves when handling food. My first time going to Frosty king with my family of 4 the price of our food was out of this world. A whopping $35 the food was okay but not worth the $35. Going there at lunch I got a chicken strip salad with extra chicken when I got my order I had literally 14 pieces of chicken and a whole lot of lettuce.If you are thinking about going here please bring lots of money and very low expectations for the food and the service. I always recognize great customer service whenever I go somewhere and have a good experience however I will also call someone to the carpet when service is bad. I've been going to Frosty King since I moved here to Exeter years ago and service was great, food was great! Now over the past couple of years I've noticed a decline in both. My wife and I went there a few weeks back and we were there 15 minutes before they close and the girl at the window said "Sorry we're closed." I told her you guys have 15 minutes before you close and she said "we closed early today." so my wife and I move to the side to decide where we should go eat, when another lady comes to the window and asks in Spanish if they were open and she responded in Spanish that they were closed but not to say anything and she would take their order as soon as we left. I was floored! Fast forward to today and I placed an order over the phone and was VERY specific on what I wanted and even double checked with the girl taking my order to make sure it was correct. I went to pick it up and what do ya know... it was wrong. And of all people, it was the SAME girl that pulled that BS last time. So I told her that the order was wrong and she got an attitude with me and told told me "Well I didn't charge you for it so don't get all mad" Then she said "If you don't want it you don't have to wait for it." On a drive through California, I stopped by this drive-in for a quick burger and fries. I had the Ranchhand burger combo, which is a two patty burger built on a soft french roll. The patties are the thin factory pressed variety, which I tend not to enjoy, however, the Ranchhand was an enjoyable burger with a good flavor. Definitely a pleasant alternative to a chain fast food joint. The bun was buttered and perfectly toasted on the griddle and the veggies were nice and fresh. The french fries were crispy crinkle cut fries. The burger, fries, and large drink where around $6. A little bit of outdoor seating is available with umbrellas for shade. Even though I may live in a small town in Exeter California and there's not many stores around and not much to do, but that doesn't mean there's not great restaurants to go to. Of course we got the usual fast foods but their is one place that is one of a kind to me and I love going there often whether it's for lunch during school hours, or going with my family for dinner. This wonderful place is called Frosty King. They are open Monday-Friday 9:00-8:00, Saturday 10:00-8:00 and Sunday 11:00-8:00. Frosty King does not serve breakfast only lunch and dinner. I love it because they are known for great hamburgers and fries, as well as the sweet ice cream they have. They don't just have that though, there you can get just about anything you want, I either get their soft tacos and cheese sticks or their chicken strips with fried mushrooms, those are my two are my favorite items to get there. Here are some specific reasons why I give Frosty King a 5 out of 5. Great service- Throughout all the years I have been going there I have not had one mistake and they go fairly quick, and we have gotten to know the owners very well and became good friends with them. Price- Frosty King's prices are very decent nothing is overpriced and have good deals on all their meals. Area- It is located in downtown Exeter, it's a wonderful location, it's easy to get there and the people are great who surround that area. Dining- This is not a typical restaurant. You can sit down and eat there's plenty of tables but it's all outdoor underneath a ceiling. If you don't want to eat their then you can take it to go. Sanitary- At Frosty King they make sure all the tables are clean so when you sit down nothing's sticky or wet. They empty their trash cans very often so it does not smell. They also decorate for the Holidays to make it look nice. They even have an area of grass for kids to play on. This is a one of a kind place you can not find a place like this anywhere else, it's it's own unique restaurant. No one has this type of selection of foods on their menu. There's nothing like it and you can't get it anywhere else but here in the small town of Exeter California. So I encourage you to come out and try their wonderful, delicious food. read more

Overall a great little mom and pop shop for the bacon cheese burger meal.The service is overall pretty good,they work pretty fast even when they're packed. The cleanliness for the most is good,when some people leave there trash they'll pick it up when in the first 3 min.Its outdoor seating is pretty nice especially since it's on main street.I think the pricing is reasonable especially since it's clean and good.I like going at night when it's more fresh since it is an outdoor seating. read more

I've been to frost king multiple times, and have had a good experience each time. The food is good, the workers are pretty nice, and the tables are clean. The downside is that the lines get pretty long, but you can call in and get your order that way. The student's aren't treated differently than the adults. All in all this restaurant is good, and i would recommend you to try it. read more

The food here is exquisite and at a good and at a good price. Carne asada big taco. Homemade corn tortillas are worth the wait. The chili cheese fries are absolutely delicious I have found hair in my burger once it was short so I'm assuming it was armpit hair. The food was cooked very fast. It was completely worth it and the food makes everything better. It is clean and tidy. Not very comfortable tables are dirty but the food is worth it. read more
