This place is one of the few to actually be thorough and prepared for their clients. They had all the information I had submitted in advance via their online forms. This is something most places fail at. The people, from start to finish, were absolutely wonderful. They are knowledgeable, professional, kind, and fun (yes, fun!) to visit with. They make sure all your questions are answered and you leave happy with every aspect of you visit. In addition to the wonderful people, there is also their wide variety of glasses to choose from. I was able to select three pairs of glasses--two of which were designer--with an array of lenses features (blue light, scratch guard, etc) for under $650 without vision insurance. This is great considering the last pair (just one pair) of designer glasses I had purchased elsewhere were over $550 and had issues. The location is clean, pleasant, and easily accessible. This is definitely a location I felt very comfortable visiting. I have walked into other locations and not gotten the most welcoming feeling but the Hixson location is a rather different story altogether. I called and she told me that although she said it was the co pay it was for a service that they charge the patient but do not mention it to insurance because they do not pay for that service. I called and she admitted but offered no apology and said they did not have to tell their clients about the extra charge. I told her she should have told me it was not a co pay but a charge for a service. I was also billed for the service but the co pay is all I would have to pay. I feel very wronged. I had my insurance call and she told her the same thing: they do not have to tell the client about the extra charge and she said she never called it a co pay. Like they are sunglasses outside and change back to regular glasses inside?" I only realized it because the dude helping a young couple described transition lenses and I asked for a certain type of lens right before that and the woman who was making my order told me I couldn't have transition glasses with that request. I don't know why, but I was thinking she meant the bifocals. That "catch" brought down my cost from around $1,000 dollars to about $450. When I got home and saw my receipt, I realized there were so many more things added to my order that I couldn't and wouldn't have allowed. I will NEVER GO BACK! Not even for adjustments. The same person who was rude in the first visit was the same individual who "helped" me when I picked up my order. I asked her to tighten up one pair of glasses and she looked at me like I was REALLY putting her out. She did warm and bend them and didn't care if they fit or not. I just left. 100% would NOT recommend! It's too bad too for them. Both my mother in law and father in law are due for new glasses and the insurance has changed. So, they could have been customers. I will be searching for a better option for them. They are 91 & 86 years old. My mother in law took out her tablet and checked the on-line reviews AFTER I went there. And she said that the reviews were horrendous. My husband went there first. It's why I went there. He is neurodivergent; so, he isn't always aware of how he is being treated by others. And he doesn't care. I have raised neurodivergent children and my husband and I have been married for almost 31 years. I wanted to give the staff grace. I did. She's not neurodivergent, she's just rude and/or hates her job. While I was looking for my frames, the male front desk worker read a review out loud.
