Frost It Cakery made a custom "rainbow T-Rex" birthday cake and assorted cupcakes for my little one's birthday party. The cake was a huge hit, and the cupcakes were very tasty! Owner Destiny was kind and extremely helpful in providing several design options for the cake. Thank you!

The team and Frost It Cakery made the most AMAZING wedding cake for my Husband and I'd dream wedding at Hartley Botanica. I contacted Kodi to inquire about their cakes and the process was so easy (especially during the pandemic). We scheduled a tasting virtually and they had samples of all their cakes and frostings delivered. Upon booking we thought the desserts would be priority mailed over, but they actually HAND DELIVERED them! So amazing! My husband and I live in Orange County and we know it was a far drive so we were truly surprised and so appreciative of this personal touch. I had a call with Kodi shortly after and selected our flavors and shared some inspiration photos of the look we were going for. I liked how we were able to consult with them and they gave honest suggestions on serving sizes. I spoke with other bakeries and they suggest 1 serving per guest, Kodi was very transparent and suggested to purchase less servings (and good thing we did bc we did have leftovers)! I love it when businesses are honest and don't push you to max out their profits. They absolutely killed it! The cake was gorgeous and also so delicious! We went with a Strawberry Lemonade tier (Lemon cake & Strawberry Frosting), Chocolate & Raspberry & white Velvet & strawberry frosting. I highly recommend!

What makes a good bakery? Well the cake of course, but service, service, service also plays an important role. In just the last two months I had the great pleasure of working with Rhonda over at Frost It for two events - work and personal. Work: Retirement cake recreated from a photo we had - absolutely perfect. Better than the photo in fact! Also fit within our budget. She adjusted size accordingly. Lemon Cake with Raspberry Filling and for the large tier, Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Chip Mousse for small tier. Chocolate cake was moist. Lemon cake was just a tiny bit dry. Personal: Baby shower cake with "Welcome to the World" theme - PHENOMENAL. She captured EXACTLY what I was looking for - with vintage looking luggage, coral color, and world. EXACTLY. Folks were shocked it was a cake and it stood up with the huge dessert table we had created for the recipient. Flavors were Chocolate cake with peanut butter, white cake with caramel, lemon cake with raspberry. Again, chocolate cake stayed incredibly moist. The white and lemon cake just a teeny, tiny bit dry, but the flavors were right on point. The "specialty" flavors are subtle - just enough to get you the taste, but not overpowering at all. On another note, Rhonda was SO SO SO accommodating and responsive. That is so important when creating a cake for a special occasion. And I had a bit of an emergency with another dessert item which she saved the day with - quickly and effectively. My son's birthday is coming up, so I will be ordering from Frost It again. Yah!

    a wedding cake and desserts

We used Frost It for our dessert at our wedding in May 2022. We did a small cake with an assortment of mini desserts. Kodi was the person who was helping us through the planning process and I could not say nicer things! She helped arrange a take-home tasting for us and was so communicative leading up to the event. She even helped me make decisions about which desserts to get because I was so indecisive. 100% recommend!

Lesley was so kind and let us come in and do the full wedding cake and dessert tasting it was delicious and so much fun! Frost It made the most GORGEOUS vintage square, four tiered wedding cake for our fall vintage Romance wedding. It was so incredibly DELICIOUS (I am craving it right now) as well as beautiful and STUNNING looking! It was white velvet (drooling as we speak) and had raspberry mousse filling! Lesley even went above and beyond to find the perfect black and gold deco liner for the bottom of the cake that I wanted!!!! Just the best company ever! They even left a box for us to save the tiers for the end of the night! Like seriously you guys rock!!!! We even had them make a small 4 inch red velvet personal cake for someone's birthday who we were celebrating on my wedding day to commemorate her! She cried when we sang her happy birthday with a candle. Our wedding cake was STUNNING! And our florist Laurie of Unique Floral Designs left beautiful vibrant red peonies so Lesley could decorate the cake. Our Art Deco venue called for a dramatic gorgeous hand painted gold cake!!! We even preserved the top layer for our one year wedding anniversary! They 100% delivered that day and did an incredible job! My cake stand sadly was too small to support the cake but it still sat beautifully on the bar cart! Thank YOU Lesley and team for making our most stunning wedding cake we could ever ask for!!! Can't wait to order it for anniversaries and years to come, so don't ever ever go out of business lol!

They're cupcakes are both beautiful, and delicious. The cake was moist and the frosting generous and tasty. These cupcakes are a classic design with cupcake on the bottom and frosting on top. No extra filling inside the cake, but I don't think it needed it. The staff was helpful and friendly. Cons: Though they have an "Irish Car Bomb" cupcake available as a speciality flavor on their website, the store was closed this St Patty's day! I definitely wanted to buy some and was sad that I couldn't. Prices are reasonable for fancy cupcakes in Thousand Oaks/Westlake area.

I found Lesley at Frost It Cakery on Instagram actually for our wedding this past Nov, 2013. I had a very specific idea what I wanted for the cake and a dessert table and Lesley completely understood the look and vibe I was going for! Even at our tasting when we were running super late she still boxes up samples for us to try, which were all delicious! We can't thank Lesley enough, we got so many compliments on the aesthetic and the taste of everything! She was super easy to correspond with and being that I was planning everything mostly on my own everything was done smoothly and seamlessly! Her pricing is very reasonable and definitely worth driving over the hill from the Westside, especially if your venue is close to their location! Thanks Lesley!!

I appreciate the minimalistic design of the store and having enough open space to move & look around. The shop is cute. I love cupcakes. These, I don't know... They looked nice, but there was WAY too much frosting on them. And the frosting was way too sugary (FYI: I love sugar, sad but true). I want a cupcake with frosting, not the other way around. We tried the red velvet and the chocolate peanut butter cupcake. In my world, red velvet cake comes with cream cheese frosting. This cupcake had more of a classic buttercream frosting on it. And - I feel the need to repeat myself - the frosting was way too sweet!! The red velvet cake itself was too dry and not very flavourful. I have to say, the chocolate cupcake was bland and also rather dry... The peanut butter frosting was good (though also pretty sweet). In addition, I tried their brownie chocolate chip cookie (baked together). A great idea, very tasty. The brownie was moist and fudgy, the cookie tasted good - I enjoyed the combination. I liked the boxes for the cupcakes and the store logo is beautiful as well (yes, these things matter to me). I didn't feel very welcomed upon entering the store. There was one employee talking to the only other customer in the store. The employee didn't bother looking in my direction when I came in. Even after I greeted her, I did not get an answer. Only after she had finished serving the other customer, she even acknowledged my presence - but then she was very nice. Sorry though, a bit more multi-tasking would do you well! Overall, three stars.

While this place has been open for about a month now, I don't think they have their little kinks ironed out yet. A few Fridays ago, I called intermittently all day long to see what Frost It Cupcakery's hours actually were, and NOT ONCE did anyone answer the phone. Instead, I used the business hours guide on Yelp. Sure enough, they were open, but when I entered, it was empty, and no one was up front to greet me. The owner and her husband were in the back, apparently getting ready for a next day Farmers' Market event, but she claims to have been there all day. That's just STUPID business practice. If the idea is to draw in customers, new customers, returning, whatever, don't leave your phone unattended just because you're busy. It makes people think you're NOT OPEN. Duh. While the minimal decor is cute, and the owner is still trying to figure things out (I could tell, plus she just seemed kind of scattered), a large counter area was dwarfed by a rather sizeable overall storefront. Plus, as big as the counter area was, it was NOT well stocked with a great selection of cupcake flavors, and even with what flavors she had, there weren't many cupcakes of each flavor to choose from.....almost like they were picked over. Bottom line.... I feel like she needs to grow INTO that place. She could use some tables and chairs in there, too, which she had plenty of room for, but yet, there were none in there. Plus, she needs more decorations, and definitely more cupcakes, both in terms of flavors and quantity of each. Okay, now for the important part. The cupcakes. I see potential, but regardless of why, she obviously hasn't reached it yet. The owner claimed to be doing this for quite some time at various local Farmers' Markets and is trying her hand at a stationary location. However, if what I sampled is all she's achieved, then I don't know. Everything I tried was somewhat dried out, which equates to a loss of flavor. No matter who baked them or what was baked, it loses flavor as it ages. Plus, she had the cupcakes stored in individual cake stands, with the only thing separating the cupcakes from the evil room air was a plastic dome lid. While the presentation looks cute, it's not all that protective. I tried 4 flavors of cupcakes...... there were only 6-8 varieties to choose from. I also tried a chocolate chip cookie baked into a brownie, which was much better in its idea than in reality. On that one, the brownie was not that fudgy or flavorful, and overall, it was dried out especially around the edges. As for the cupcakes, the flavors SOUNDED good, but again, they were a little dry, and the flavor was a bit flat. I tried the banana caramel, cookies and cream, chocolate, and strawberry. So maybe I went on an off week. Maybe I went after the cupcakes had been sitting out for too many days. Maybe her best stuff was being taken to her Farmers' Market. If she's going to have a storefront for her baked goods, she needs to start paying more attention to THAT and less attention to her Farmers' Market....until she at least gets this storefront location off the ground to a successful running start. I wonder if she's spreading herself too thin. Well, this is just my opinion, but I'd like to think I know a thing or two about the subject.

Super soft Cupcakes! Impressed! Peanut Butter chocolate, Orange Cranberry, Chocolate on Chocolate, Pumpkin Spice, Coconut mix
    Debbie H.

Wow....super soft cupcakes- definitely the most soft cake texture I've ever had. I just devoured the Peanut Butter Chocolate and the frosting was perfect flavors of peanut butter while the chocolate cake under it was melting in my mouth in a nice soft sweet texture. I've never had a cupcake do that- suppose I never had a really soft cupcake before ? I've been trying all kinds of cupcake places this year- and though all of them I thought were great with such inventive ideas and all- this place takes it on the softness of the cake and amazing frosting. I purchased the conjeo deals and it was about to expire so luckily I got in there because they are closed the next two days. I got 6 cupcakes for $21. Chocolate on Chocolate Peanut Butter Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Coconut-dulce de leche combo Chocolate cream and a flavor I've never tried anywhere before Orange Cranberry! This place is hidden in the North Plaza- along with everything else in that little plaza- but I call this my new little gem of a sweet tooth place!!! Lots of parking everywhere- service is friendly and quick and they make cakes- I saw a lady taking a pumpkin out of there....okay so it was cake that looked just like a pumpkin- really beautiful with stems on it and all.

Red velvet wedding cake by FrostIt Cakery

They made the most lovely and delicious wedding cake for my daughter's backyard 20 person micro wedding a couple weeks ago. The cake was stunning in its simplicity. And it was gluten free (red velvet) The florist brought the fresh flowers to adorn the cake and Kodi provided the cake stand. We loved the convenience of Take-Out cake tasting. They provided the mini cupcakes and an assortment of fillings to try. It was great fun. They also made French Macarons to match the colors in the invitation. And added the bride and groom's initials with a heart emoji in gold. Very sweet and super delicious. Home delivery was right on time. Thanks to Kodi and her staff for helping to make this little soirée so special.

Funfetti cupcakes for my Firefighters promotion party! Could not recommend them enough!!

Ordered cupcakes for my firefighters promotion party and they came out amazing! Exactly what I asked for! They even tasted great in the funfetti flavor. Ordering was quick and easy and working with this company was great! Will order with them again soon!

    Loved our wedding cupcake tower!

This place also feels homey. If you take a moment to look around, you'll notice the personal touches such as the artwork, photos, and thoughtful details that tell a story of their family. Okay Now to get to the good stuff the drinks and bites are stellar, here's what I got: I finally found a seriously addicting chai here in the 805. I'm very picky about chai, so when Robin insisted "you're trying this" so I listened and I'm so glad I did haha. Freshly brewed, no artificial flavors, perfectly spiced. I think I would dub this one of the BEST chai's I've ever had. 10/10. Their classic breakfast bites hit the spot too. I had a breakfast sandwich with crispy bacon and a fresh egg. Simple but good. I'd get this again but also would be open to trying some of their other bites. 8/10. The handmade bakery section here was unreal. Hey, I'm a Dad and Dad jokes are what we Dads do best! Alright enough shenanigans. I'm going to attempt something different here. I am going to write this review using common COW IDIOMS. Wait! You don't know what a Cow is?? Well, It's a four-legged mammal from the Bovidae Family, also known as Cattle. They can produce milk and are the Main source of Beef. Fun Fact: Some eateries even using "cows" as their Mascot. Oh, you weren't talking about the Cow, you wanted to know what an Idiom was... my Bad lol. Well, An Idiom is "a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words." Thank You Google for that definition! And after reading what an Idiom was, apparently I didn't know what it actually meant either... haha Anywho... Let's "Take this Bull by the Horns" and get this review of Little Calf Creamery and Cafe on the road. Without a doubt, The "Cash Cow" to this little local establishment is probably not the CAFE part, but my guess, it's the CREAMERY half of the business. I mean, who doesn't Love Ice Cream??? The transaction went well. When we got home, we ate the goodies. The trilogia was fresh and had great flavor. The red velvet, unfortunately, did not meet expectations. The cake part was dry, and the frosting was dense and had little flavor. Maybe I just ended up getting an older one, but at $8.25, I had expected a much better item. The service was great, but as a red velvet lover, the flavor was not as expected. I would potentially try again but would sample some other treats.

Within ten seconds of walking in, I was greeted by Ama, who set the tone for the whole visit. She was warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout. She even let me sample different gelato flavors and suggested some great dishes to try on my next visit. That kind of thoughtfulness goes a long way. The affogato here is on another level. Most places serve it in a paper cup where the espresso and gelato just blend into a mushy mess. Not here. Carrara's presents it beautifully on a stone tray, with a proper espresso cup and a transparent glass so you can actually see the layers of gelato and espresso. And Ama personally poured the espresso tableside, which really topped off the whole experience. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

The campanelle shape is the perfect vehicle for the bright marinara sauce and pairs well with chunky pieces of mushroom, zucchini, and perfectly-cooked cherry tomatoes. This was the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely brunch with friends, and I can't wait to visit again!

A lot of people around were working, catching up with friends, going on first dates, it was a fun place to get energy and people watch. But the drinks and food are miss or barely hit. The food looks great, the toasts are always gorgeous and delicious. The drinks were unfortunately, very disappointing. I got a large Kauai smoothie and it isn't bad, coconut water, pineapple, strawberry, and banana in a large (24oz) and it tastes like crunchy coconut water. But for $13 I feel like it could've been a lot better. A friend got the morning blend smoothie bowl ($16.50) and an iced London Fog (6) but also didn't like any of it in the end. Describing the London fog as the worst one in her entire life, and only ate the bananas on top of the smoothie bowl. I think personally it's on me that I didn't get one of their signatures, I am a BIG fan of almost every raspberry white mocha I had, but didn't end up getting them, will go next time! The pastries in the window looked so delicious too, but an almost $30 cafe visit is not in my budget as much as I hope it was. I love that they're so accommodating for different restrictions and life goals though, I have multiple friends who don't take seed oils, different milks, vegans, or gluten free and they have an option for literally everyone. I'm so glad they're here!
