He did not even come to my door I had to go out to him. Never offered a name or a card. He pulled apart my interior electrical box which he is not a licensed electrician, he could not tell we recently had a new acoil and wiring done to our furnace for a new ac unit, could not comprehend double walled vent pipe, plus just to much to put here. I thought you had to know these things, did not even know codes for an older homes electric, wanted a cover plate on a electrical code box inside the home that never had one anyway. Suggest that the inspectors be schooled better before they are allowed out and to train another person yet, just nuts. Never again will one of their people be allowed in anything I own.

Phenomenal service!…read more I used A Pro for my home inspection after shopping around a bit. They had the best prices and quickest turnaround of availability. Troy was our inspector and I can not recommend him highly enough. He was so informative throughout the entire process and is insanely detail oriented. I received a VERY LONG and very thorough written report with pictures detailing every aspect of the inspection the day after the inspection. Troy has been so helpful in answering follow up questions regarding the inspection. Highly recommend using them!

I decided to go with Scout inspections because they were…read moreone of the inspectors that my realtor recommended and they could get me in the soonest which was a huge plus. I told my realtor that I would like to be present for the home inspection and the realtor said that would be no problem, so I took off work that afternoon since they were supposed to be there at 2 pm. I received a message around 9:30 that my home inspection was complete. I was upset, because I have heard horror stories about home inspections missing things, but the inspector agreed to come back out at the Scheduled time to do a walk through with me of what he found, which I thought I would be okay with. I understand that some things would be missed, but I did not think they would lie on an inspection. My first cue, was when I went to turn gas on at my house since the inspection said I had a gas heater. It was embarrassing to pay someone to come out to get gas turned on and the house didn't even have a functioning gas line. Second cue, my cat kept getting out of the house. There were literal holes under my tub and my sink. Huge holes that would have been seen had they looked. Third, only about 1/3 of the outlets worked in house. The inspector said the roof was in excellent condition, but with one walk on the roof to get a toy that was accidentally thrown, we noticed several large soft spots on the roof, although he assured us he walked all over. The water heater was rigged up so that there was no way to shut off the breaker. The last straw, was that we could not locate are water meter or the main shut off valve for our water. We had the bright idea to check the inspection papers. They stated it was on the right of the house. After looking any and everywhere for this, we finally decided to call the city, who told us that it had been buried since way before we moved in or had an inspection and they had been estimating our bill the whole time. (That's a different story) but turns out after looking at old google images of the house, the water meter and the shut off valve was in the front of the house, not the right. So it was never checked. I gave them the benefit of the doubt up until that point. I also specifically asked if the fireplace was good. He told me it was (I didn't realize at the time that it was not the home inspector's job to check that, but he should not have told me that it was good. He should have said, You will have to have a chimney inspector check that) I ended up having someone come out to check it anyway, and it will be $4,000 to be functional again due to the damage in the chimney. (I had this inspection shortly after moving in, and it was years worth of damage, so it wasn't something since before I moved in) It's one thing to miss a thing here and there. It's another to blatantly lie in the report.
