My family of 5's only mode of transportation, our 96' Dodge Caravan's transmission broke. I researched the symptoms and took it to a local mechanic who'd been in the business for 30 years and it was pretty obvious it was gonna have to be rebuilt. The mechanic we went to recommended Frontier transmission in McMinneville. So I called around and all the shops said the same thing. They'd diagnose it for free and if it needed to be rebuilt it'd be around $2200. Frontier was no different. So we borrowed $2200 and took it to Frontier. I dont regret it. They quoted us at $2200 and though it costed him a little more for parts he stuck with what he quoted us. He said it usually took 3 or 4 days and it was ready on the morning of the 4th day. It shifted a little rough at first I called and Don told us to go ahead and bring it in. Tony called us a couple hours later and said the same thing. I didn't bring it back in because it smoothed out. It's normal with an adaptive computer controlled trans. To shift a little rough at first. But Tony didn't say that. He wanted us to bring it in because he cares. He had us bring it in after 15 days to check over his work free of charge. He hooked it too the computer and then took it for a drive. When he was satisfied that the job was done right he signed the ATRA 2 year 24000 mile warranty explained that if anything went wrong we could take it to any ATRA shop and the warranty would be honored. At Frontier they don't just buy from a rebuilder, slap it in, charge u $2200 and call it good. They rebuild the transmissions themselves. They obviously care about there work and reputation. When talking to Tony I could tell he is an expert. Also hes a nice guy. He made me feel like a priority, not like he was doing me a favor like many shops treat there customers. That's probably why he's still in business after 29 years in McMinneville. If u want quality, honesty, integrity, and good service for your transmission Frontier is a good place to go. read more
