The staff was extremely friendly and Helpful. Bathroom: Good - Decent Size single sink plenty of counter space, In the shower the soap and shampoo dispensers are refillable which makes using it easy. The shower itself was very large comparably to other hotels and the GLASS doors are a nice touch compared to the usual crap curtains. Bad - No Complaints this was a great bathroom. Bedroom: Good - Comfortable Beds, Has mini Fridge and a Desk along with a trash can. Plenty of outlets available on both sides of both queen beds which was great. Internet was included and worked great. They also gave 3 pillows which is great they weren't the marshmallow soft ones which was also a plus. Bad - It is right off the freeway so of course there is some freeway noise. Our room 426 had a parking lot light that was EXTREMELY bright, luckily the curtains blocked most of the light but just wanted to call it out. Parking: Parking was free and is located directly in front and behind the hotel this is not a issue at all.Its connected to TGI Fridays so there is overflow there as well. Room Cleaning: Room was cleaned as we left for the day as expected. Only weird thing was that they didn't actually make the bed, not sure if that's a policy or not but everything else was done as expected. Perks: TONS... Coffee, Tea, Soda Machines available 24hrs a day! A hot breakfast including eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels included. Drinks and snacks in the evening awesome. Gym and Pool were available although we didn't use them. Room Overall: Room, 2 Queen Beds Priced at $142.00 a night I dont think there is any hotel in the area this clean and full of perks. A good value! Area recommendations: Walmart is close by if anything is needed or forgotten TGIFRIDAYS right next door If you happen to be in Columbia, visiting your kid at Mizzou or any other college nearby this is a GREAT choice! When we checked in, and we went to our room it was clear that the linens on my queen bed had not been changed. There were wrinkles in the pillowcase fabric where a head would have rested. There was some kind of nastiness on the top sheet! Snot? Or what? That day the movers had come, and then I thoroughly cleaned the entire house for the buyers' walk-through the next day. It was late and I had been steady working 13 hours. I threw the sheet in the bathroom and threw the pillows on the floor. I slept on the in-between cover. I was so exhausted I never said a word because I wanted my husband to get some rest. But guess what? I will never go back!

Check in was easy and the view on the hill would be nice if not rainy and can't imagine what a great sunny day would be like (probably very pretty!). They do have a 3 mile walking trail but if you try it you need to grab the map first or you'll think you're heading to a private road. We turned back without a map thinking we went the wrong way - rookie mistake but wish we would have been told to grab a map prior to heading out. Or be handed one as newbies... The owner I believe lives in the facility as well, and it was Easter weekend. He was talkative first night upon check in and did stop by outside to chat. The waterfall was not working and he said maybe he'd get it working by the time we left. Not a big deal, but never did turn on. It was odd that his family lived there or was visiting for Easter so we did feel a little like intruders over the weekend. Room: was freezing cold, and first night the heat was not working well. We did have a fireplace in the room but the unit to use for heat was not working no matter what we tried even with staff assistance. The bathroom was freezing and we had to use a space heater to try to warm it. We did complain the second night and nothing was fixed as owner was having Easter dinner upstairs with his family. Hot Tub: clean, small and perfect for 2 people. Made the trip. Didn't use the small table fire pit. They don't tell you that they drop off deserts at night and the next morning we woke up with melted ice cream outside the room. Communication breakdown. Coffee was folders, nothing great but did have a selection of offerings for breakfast time. Staff workers were amazing - kind and super friendly given that it was Easter weekend. You can tell they do try to give you the best experience. The staff hired here were amazing and friendly. Games are available for the rainy days. TV has most steaming services, rooms a tad older look. Somethings not functioning - like the sound machine, TV being finicky, and heat in room. We probably will not choose this room. Would rather stay at the rooms that are on the river and try that route next time!

However, the interim corporate General Manager is very unfriendly and unkind. I've said Good Morning to him on more than one occasion and he looked right at me and kept walking. I repeated my greeting and he turned around again and kept walking. He's all about business matters and not the guests and he makes it quite clear with his actions and body language.

It had all the shabby/no chic, no historic charm with cheap particle board , furniture and vinyl wall paper, lol. They clearly have not put a dime into maintaining the property. RUN FOREST RUN!!!!! For the prices they charge they must be laughing at everyone on the way to the bank thinking what chumps that they sucker into staying there. No wonder they suggested calling for reservations and have a no refund policy.

The breakfast in the morning, delivered to my door was what I would describe as gourmet. The best scrambled eggs I have ever had. I must give an acknowledgement to Brandt, the Innkeeper, who keeps the property running smoothly. He knows a lot about the local history and gave us a map of the town when we first arrived and informed us on some good places to go. Lovely town and Captain Wohlt Inn was charming.

The room was super clean and nice. There was a beautiful landscaped area with seating, and at night, that was a place to be, so many guests were there, with s'mores you could make at the firepit. There was quiet background music that was great for still being able to have conversations, and the owners dog came out for a bit and visited. I would definitely come back, close to the downtown areas, clean, and beautiful.
