recently stayed at the Quality Inn in Kingdom City and had such a positive experience. The new staff and management are doing a fantastic job -- they were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely pleasant to interact with. The atmosphere felt inviting and the overall vibe of the place was clean, fresh, and comfortable. I also noticed the upgrades in the parking area, which made arriving and leaving so much easier. The ambience throughout the property has improved a lot, and it truly felt like a nice place to relax after a long day of travel. I stayed at Quality Inn last weekend. My son's fraternity had Dad's weekend and so I booked outside of Columbia where the university. Rooms in Columbia were $500 a night because of the Tigers Game. So Kingdom City is about a 25 minute drive into town, which was worth saving $775 over the 2 nights I was there. The hotel itself is clean and accommodating. The people were awesome, the bed was very comfortable and there were a couple movie channels with no commercials. So I will be back. Eric T. read more

Let me preface this by saying the staff was very nice and made things better. We stayed one night. Thank heavens for that! Unfortunately, the room and hotel was hot as Hades! Turned air conditioner on and hoped for best. It never truly got cool. Even sleeping in a short-sleeved nightgown was oppressive. Then our dog Londo found something on the rug in the room - toenail clippings, No one but the dog walked on the rug with bare feet! Rug had spots on it and could use to be replaced. Ugh! Then there was a nasty washcloth left in the shower. My poor husband was grossed out completely and warned me not to take a shower. There was barely a bath towel anyhow. Yes, I raised the alarm with the desk attendant as we checked out. He was visibly upset with the news. He most likely was the manager because as I turned to leave, he asked me to wait. He reduced the bill by 30% and did not charge me the pet fee. That is why a one-star stay became three. If all problematic stays were handled like this and corrected from happening again, it would be great. I am hoping improvements are inspired by my experience! read more

The only reason I can even give this one star is because they were open and had vacancy, now I know why. We stopped at 11:00 pm on our way from Tennessee to Nebraska, all other hotels we stopped at had no vacancy. Strike one was no elevator. We had luggage we had to lug up steps to our second floor room. Strike two was when we walked into our room, turned on the lights to find a jar of Peter Pan peanut butter, loaf of bread, and dirty butter knife in our room along with a garbage can full of trash, no thank you. The front desk attendant told us to go to the room across the hall and he would bring up our new room key cards. Strike three was when the new room was cleaner but the duvet cover our son's bed had stains and our air conditioner did not work properly and their was a gap between the door and frame that you could see light through. The microwave had old food, the mini fridge had not been cleaned hair hairs and was dirt you could wipe off with your hand the toilet had feces still on the rim. The second room had pubic hairs and urine stains on the rim. Dirty, dirty, dirty. This place is t worthy of the Choice name. Hair everywhere, dirty toilet paper, hair and dead bugs on the bathroom floor, toothpaste splatters on the sink faucet and handle, exterior door in lobby covered in fingerprints. Definitely not following Covid-19 cleaning protocols. Empty flower pots outside prove this place is just sad and neglected. Spend a little more and get a room next door. read more

Do not come to this location, it is NASTY, we get in the room and it was 80 degrees UNACCEPTABLE!!! If you are hungry this is the right place for you; for example, we go in the bathroom and we find chips on the toilet seat and hair in the shower! Not to mention there is a deodorant cap in the dresser and trash! The list goes on and on ,there is no water in the pool and the weight room has no air conditioning!! Seems like someone may be missing a snot rag and two mizzou hats, the best part is when you turn on the bath tub faucet and it squeals....I wouldn't recommend this location NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!! read more

The room was very expensive for a very uncomfortable bed, a musty, old smell, lights that were wired very strangely and fire hazards waiting to happen. There were two three way splitters plugged in and one had an additional two way splitter plugged into it with a mini fridge and a microwave plugged in. Those were promptly unplugged while we were in the room. One light was controlled by three different switches. The bathroom had three light switches-- one did absolutely nothing. One turned on a fan and one turned on the light. The light would not turn on unless the fan was already on and if you tried to turn off just the fan, the light went off as well. Very loud and unnecessary for middle of the night trips to the bathroom while my spouse was trying to sleep. The price was also 2x what was advertised online but it was 2am when I stopped to check in and going any further was unsafe and out of the question. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY HERE. read more

If I had a choice I wouldn't even give this a star. Moving from Idaho to Virginia, and needed a place to stay. The first Quality Inn my husband, dog and cat stayed in was so nice, this one is absolutely disgusting. In the front area where you can park your car to unload and get a room there was a wasps nest there. The front area seems just very dingy in general. The room isn't clean, when my husband went to open up the nightstand drawer close to the window there is just black specs everywhere within it, like it hasn't been cleaned in a while. Curtains have stains all over them, and there seems to be blood stains on the comforter. Lamp shades have cob webs all over them and in them, corners of the room look disgusting. Shortly after getting our keys, they also stopped working. When we went out to the pool for a little swim we checked the hot top and found several dead bugs, grasshoppers and smaller things just floating there. The water was also lower then the filter, and wasn't even running. The pool area just looked dirty in general. The main pool even had some stuff floating around in it. After the pool we went to shower, for one, there wasn't enough towels, and the only two hand towels we had have black spot in the corners. Gross! I have no clue what it was but we didn't use them for safety reasons. Shower floor was super slippery, and I'm shocked nether of us fell. And as someone who is pregnant, it's a huge risk. I wouldn't stay here at all! Just go next store!! read more

Without a doubt, the absolute worst accommodation experience EVER. Overnight stay, one room for $70 (+ tax). While settling in to the room, heard loud screaming (not yelling, not loud talking: top of the lung *screaming*) coupled with banging from the next room. Then the floor is actually shaking. First thought was to call the police, but ended up calling the front desk. "Oh, right, the guy told me when he checked in he was going to be loud 'cause he's watching the game." What? Not only did you check someone in who told you they were going to be disruptive, but then you actually placed someone who asked for a QUIET room right next door? We were resettled in to another room at the other end of the hall. Room was stuffy from being closed off and hotter than Hades, the A/C unit took forever to cool the room down. Things like headboards, wall lamps, mirrors, etc., were in need of an extra screw or two. One wall lamp was just a bare bulb, missing the shade. Sink leaked making a puddle on the carpet. And on and on. At the time, it seemed this room was meant to be out of service, because it was so different than the first one we had been in. Rather than deal with yet another move, decided to suck it up and deal with what we had. Sheets and towels were clean, beds were ok. Mentioned situation the next morning at check-out and all the front desk guy could say was "sorry to hear that". No offer to reduce the rate, nothing. Ugh. read more

The place was quiet and had a moderately ok bed, but it was not cheap for the location. And because they offered breakfast I felt better but not really ok about the price. However, when I got to the breakfast area at around 9:00 the food was completely gone. Not put away.... just gone. I was a few minutes late, admittedly but it sincerely looked like they didn't put out remotely enough breakfast for everyone who might want to eat. The chafers had long gone dried up crumbs. I am sure that they put out almost no food. It infuriated me actually. If it hadn't been for that I would have given it another star. read more

Motel is fine for just an overnight stop. Sheets were clean, beds were comfortable, & rooms are plenty big. Comforters on top of beds could die to be laundered and pillows lack fluffiness. Make sure when checking in to check the rate given and charges before leaving. Pool is just a straight up cold pool, hot tub was not working when visited. Hot tub made bubbles but was not hot at al, I wouldn't of even considered it lukewarm. They do offer a small exercise area for those wanting to get their extra steps in. Morning breakfast was adequate but get there early or you'll be without! read more

This place looks nice but it is a disaster! The room did NOT have a smoke alarm. The mount was there but no alarm. It did have a McDonald cheeseburger wrapper stuffed in the hole!! I'm sure this is a safety violation! Our room had an odor which the establishment was trying to mask with a Renuzit air freshener but it didn't work. I was coughing from my throat being irritated from it. The bathroom was filthy! The toilet seat had fecal matter on the seat and the toilet bowl was never cleaned. Fecal matter was all over the bowl. The shower was handicap accessible. The shower head was laying on the safety rails and was covered in dirt. The bathroom sink was filthy and the mirror was extremely spotty and streaking. There was garbage on the floor. The bed was made up nicely and was comfortable but who could sleep with the other violations! We left after an hour. I was told they would refund our money. Since we used Expedia we had to jump threw some hoops when we got home to REALLY get the refund. read more

I was traveling from NC to CO with just me and my four children and stopped here for my half way point. 12/21/2019, I got Room 123 two queen beds. I sleep in one bed with my 2 year old and 6 year old. My two sons slept in the other bed. After getting back on the road the next day my two sons and older daughter were complaining of itchy bites all over them. Turns out this hotel has bed bugs. I called and left a message the next day while driving, for the manager expecting something for this horrible issue, whom I never heard back from. The clerk I left the message with didn't seem to care about my children at all. He said thanks for letting us know but these things happen. read more

This place is run down and not clean. We arrived and the wood on the staircase was worn down, the carpet was dirty and our room key refused to work. Upon finally shoving the door open, the room was gross. The bed was covered in what looked like dirt and mysterious white stains on the brown cover. The white linens underneath were also stained. The pool was very small and the hot tub looked like a pool and it had no heat and was closed. Would not recommend. read more

We were tired and looking for a clean, moderately priced hotel. Choice Hotels recommended Comfort Inn. The price was reasonable. Check-in was great, front desk staff was friendly and informative. Our room was better than I expected -- clean, roomy, and comfortable. The bed and linen are very comfortable but most importantly, very clean. The lobby, breakfast area and pool are clean. This place was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't actually planning on staying here. I was driving to Kansas City and had planned on staying in Columbia, MO, but there were no hotel rooms available. So I pulled off on the exit and thought I'd check out the hotels to see if there were rooms available. I actually went by the Yelp, and went to the Holiday Inn Express first. It was nice, but they only had a couple of rooms left at almost $200.00 for the night. I drove over to the Super 8. As soon as I walked in, there was an off smell and the lobby was not clean. I asked to see a room, and it was a typical Super 8 room, and it had an off smell. It was also loud, I thought it would be quieter in the room, but it wasn't. I finally went over to the Comfort Inn, and there is one thing I don't understand. How did Super * get a higher rating than the Comfort Inn. The place is hidden, but it is nice. The lobby was clean, and quiet. The hallways were quiet, the rooms were spacious, and clean. The entire hotel is non-smoking, so no trace of smoking smell. I ended up staying at the Comfort Inn. I am so glad I did. It was quiet and I was well rested. There was plenty of hot water with good water pressure in the shower. The towels were soft and seemed newer. There was a microwave, which allowed me to warm up my dinner at night. There was also a fridge and coffee maker in the room. There was plenty of coffee with breakfast, so I didn't use it. The breakfast was better than expected, plenty of hot and cold options. The staff was friendly and helpful at every turn. I am very happy I stayed there, a good rest is worth more than saving a few bucks. read more
