We absolutely love the full scope of landscaping completed for our entire home. My husband and I recently moved to Las Vegas and purchased our first home. After comparing pricing and services from several landscaping companies, we chose Frontier Landscaping--and we are so glad we did. Brian, the Designer in Charge, is extremely knowledgeable and truly excellent at what he does. He patiently worked with us through multiple design changes while we waited for HOA approval and even helped us complete and submit our ARC application. His communication was outstanding--he always got back to us promptly and answered all of our questions thoroughly. The one-year warranty he explained also gave us great peace of mind. Although we noticed some mixed reviews online, we decided to give Frontier Landscaping a chance, and they exceeded our expectations. Bob, who I believe is the co-owner, personally called us after the project was completed to check in and assure us that they would address any concerns if needed. A few days later, we met Mike, the owner, who immediately resolved a small issue with white sediment on our backyard gate by removing it on the spot. We also noticed a minor leak in our backyard faucet used during the project and he tightened it, completely stopping the leak. This company truly goes above and beyond. I just had my yard done and couldn't be happier with the results. The crew was friendly and asked questions when anything was unclear which I appreciated. To be honest I had lower quotes including one recommended by my neighbor but I'm so glad I didn't go with the cheaper options. We are looking for landscaping company that will be able to install artificial turf in our backyard. I had this company in mind since we always get an advertisement card from them in the mail. When we called the company, the person we talked to just asked how much square footage we needed for the turf installation. We only told him the estimate of what we think since we didn't really measure our yard. The guy gave us the price quote over the phone right away based on the estimated size we told him. He didn't even had the initiative to go t our house and look at the yard himself. He also told us, another guy who is part of the company will contact us but never did. I'm very disappointed with the service and decided not to go to them because of this. read more

Frontier just finished our backyard today and I could not be happier It's such a crap shoot when hiring firms like this but I am beyond pleased and glad I chose Frontier. I had bids higher and lower, but Brian just seemed to take our vision and run with it even pointing out things we had not considered and suggesting better ways to achieve what we wanted. The work crew was top notch, their attention to detail and customer focused attitude blew my mind. I only wish my pool company had even a fraction of customer service and attention to detail. Any future landscaping projects we may have will without a doubt be completed by Frontier. PS when the crew is working in your yard in 100 plus temps, buy them a beer at the end of the day. Two months had passed, we are set up for monthly auto pay Tried to plant wrong plants, took several weeks to get new plants, original ones we wanted were no longer in season. Took forever to get replacements Several plants are dead and not spaced out evenly Also received letter of completion before our yard was done Whilst I do like the look of my yard (ignoring dead plants) I Feel like we were over charged, since our yard is mostly rocks. Did bare minimum nothing raised, no trees, jus a simple border with some plants. I guess I am doing this. I had no intentions on complaining about anything outside of trying to figure out how to fix a small issue. I thought I was going to be a happy customer. However, I never got a response back from anyone since the work was "completed". So I will start from the beginning. After a period of weighing my options here in town, I had decided to hire Frontier Landscaping to do my backyard. I went with a simple option (small yard/33x24 or so) that included some rock, fake grass and concrete. It was a basic flat layout I planned on building out later on to add to with. Their price was good and they came out and did the job. I came home to find the yard was finished and I was happy. There was only one issue in a part of the fake grass where two parts of the grass came together with a wavy line. It was noticeable where the line was because it looked like two pieces of carpet butted together but the nap was going in opposite directions. So I took an image and sent it to them via text wondering how that can be fixed. I figured they just need to redo the seam or something. I even highlighted the section by circling the area affected (it was obvious regardless as you can tell). They said they would speak to the foreman about it and that was the last I ever heard from them. They ended their work in June, and I haven't received a response since. I texted a few times and ever called once, but nothing. Months later I received a letter in the mail with a form. A generic letter stating the included is a completion certificate that needs to be filled out in order for any warranties on materials to be valid. The envelope was dated/stamped 09/29/2017. I thought it was odd to receive something like this that far out. Obviously I didn't want to sign anything as it states the work was completed. So still out of concern but not looking to really complain persay because I did like the work and the person who quoted me on everything seemed like a pretty cool individual, I went to their website and submitted and email contact asking about the form and wondering why I had never heard from anyone about my inquiry. Nothing. That means text, phone and email. No response. Sadly, this disappointed me as I have not asked for any refunds or any kind of retribution. All I cared about is that the small error in the grass be fixed real quick. I would have signed all forms afterward and this would have been a story bragging about everything. However, that option was taken from me due to the experience I was given instead. So, that being said, they did a good job on the yard for the most part. However, once they have your money, don't expect to hear from them again. Especially if you find anything odd while inspecting the job. Even if it is something stupid like this, they seem to go into hiding. (Also, the concrete job was not as smooth as I have seen elsewhere. The concrete finished concrete by the company they hired resulted in blotches/spots/lines all over. They said it would go away, but they never did) read more

I was really excited at first since the company gave me a plan that didn't cost much and seemed to look great. They came to pour the concrete, and there was a big crack! I texted them about it and even have a voicemail from the owner saying they would fix it. I stupidly gave them the rest of the money (I paid part in the beginning and the rest when they told me they would come fix the concrete at a later date). They never fixed it. I called again and Mike came out to look at it. He said there wasn't much he could do to fix it, but he could give me $300 back. I never got any money back. They started my yard in Sept 2013. I don't recommend as I think they are shady and don't follow through. It was just very disappointing as the rest of the yard turned out great! read more

I had a great experience having Frontier do the landscaping in my backyard. I had the estimate worked out on Tuesday 2/19 and we agreed on the terms. The estimate was lower than competitors. The next day the concrete forms were being laid out and the concrete was poured on Saturday. Only 4 days and the project was half done! On 1/28, they came back to work on my backyard, which was earlier than I expected. They finished my landscape within one day. They finished earlier than I thought, which was perfect. They came early in the morning, and I communicated with the guy in charge where I wanted to put the plants. They already had the plants I wanted, they put in all the plants, rocks, stepping stones. There was only one issue, that was... I ordered the wrong rocks! I called Mike, he said no problem. He sent his guys to buy the rocks I wanted. Before 5pm, they finished and left. Mike the owner was never pushy about getting the money. He always made sure I was satisfied with his service, which I was. I'm going to recommend Frontier Landscaping with my friends. Horrible, Horrible customer service. Frontier a landscaping left several fliers at our front door so we gave them a call and after the plans were drawn up we just decided to go with them. They came out several different times to complete different parts of the backyard and front yard. They never gave notice of when they were coming, just showed up. The pavers and the stone wall were not installed with the same measurements as the plans. They were off by at least 2 feet, but we decided to leave it as is since it would take longer to fix. They installed about 1/4 of the grass but didn't turn on the sprinklers so those pieces were dead by the time they came out to finish the rest. 4 of the plants installed are also dying now. The biggest problem is that a few weeks after they completed the yard, we got a call from the water company saying our meter is running 24/7. One of their guys set the drip system to stay on all day. When we attempted to contact them regarding it, they came out and fixed it, and they also blamed us. They not offer any compensation on the $440 water bill. I have left the owner a message and he never called me back, then we heard he went out of town for the week. Still have not heard back. Basically giving us the run around. Very disheartening considering I spent over $8000 on the yard!!! If I could give less than 1 star, I would! I will probably contact the Better Business Bureau. You can tell they don't care about their customers since they don't respond to anyone's reviews. ----- Update: the owner paid for half of the water bill and they came out to replace the dead parts of the grass that is under warranty. read more

Good: 1. Frontier Landscaping's Brian Schaefer, came out quickly to our home for a landscaping consultation. 2. Family owned business. Bad: 1. Following the consultation, Brain promised he'd send us an itemized estimate in "a couple of days." We did not get a response back for three weeks. Brian Schafer apologized for breaking his word without bothering to provide an explanation. 2. Frontier Landscaping did not respond with an itemized bid but a single number of $7,500.00 while at the same time explaining at the same time that the work we requested was not the kind of work his company normally handled. 3. The bid amount is x3 higher than the next landscaper. To his credit, Brain advised in his letter that I might get a significantly lower bid from a landscaper/maintenance company. Bottom Line. I do not recommend this company. The bid was weeks late. And, I feel I should have told at the consultation that Frontier did not do the kind of work requested. read more

Have you ever had such a terrible experience with a company, that the list of complaints and issues were endless, to the point you don't even know where to begin??? Welcome to our world! Listen we love to write great reviews when the business is deserving of one. The more difficult reviews to write, are the ones that leave you reeling with anguish, and frustration, and that's how we feel with Frontier. We agree with the other negative reviews, and have a few thoughts to share as well. We will try and make this as easy to read with bullet points for simplicity. -Not punctual from day 1 -" landscape design" was a basic beginner attempt -we sketched our own design as theirs was terrible -almost the entire plant list presented, consisted of toxic plants. - Price wasn't what was quoted -workers didn't speak English. -we were asked to supervise our own project to ensure it was done correctly. (Really?) - we had to pay for a ton of extras -they damaged our brand new paver walkway - destroyed our back patio with poor planning and no border to keep the patio from flooding in the rain, THEN BLAMED IT ON US! -didn't protect the siding of the house so when the sprinklers come on, it soaks into the wall of the kitchen and has damaged the baseboard -sprinkler placement was terrible, as large river rocks were used around plants and water can't reach plants properly, so they've died 4 times over, AGAIN BLAMING US FOR CHOICE OF PLANTS -purchased 3 trees, 1 dead, 1 so so, 1 ok -over 30 dead plants - we have water damage on pavers where they placed sprinklers for pots, then we ended up having to take them out ourselves. -side yard is all uneven and washing away -paver walkway is sinking and separating I'm sure we haven't even listed everything, but you get the idea we hope! Here we are over a year later, and the owner has done nothing but offer a check for $200, with one caveat, he wanted a signed release, which of course we didn't sign, nor did we accept the check. Our only recourse was to stop paying, so he sent us to collections after paying over $7k, and refuses to fix anything, even the items listed above that he agreed to! We then had the work evaluated by a well known company in Las Vegas, (they will remain nameless), they have been in business for 30 years. They analyzed, and explained everything in great detail with regard to the long term damages of this job having been done like this. They made suggestions and wrote up an estimate to the tune of $7400 and that's assuming there is no mold once the baseboard is taken off or any other underlying damages. It's expensive yes, but much of what was done, has to be torn out and redone. This project has turned into an utter nightmare to say the least. Please save yourselves the headache of going through something like this and find another landscaper! - read more

First meeting with Brian went well, he was early and carefully listened to what I wanted. The work exceeded my expectations and really made my small backyard pop. They handled all the submit talks to my HOA and of course the plan was approved. They did an amazing job laying the sod. They told us that it usually a couple weeks to start the job because they were busy but he had something available that week. And we said great the sooner the better. Bob the sales guy knew we wanted it done asap so that our son could utilize the backyard. He called me later that afternoon and said somebody cancelled and if they could come out the next day to lay the grass. The next day we came out and leveled everything and leave the grass all in one day. We love it. read more

All I wanted was an estimate to compare companies and pricing. First when I initially call to schedule the estimate I was asked if my wife would be there. Lady on phone said no problem. Second the day before the estimate, the estimator asked again about my wife being there. I said no. His response was you need to reschedule your appointment when she is going to be there. I understand that she has to be part of the approval process but this is just an estimate. I told the guy on the phone if this is an estimate only. He still insisted on my wife be there. At this point I told him not to show at all. Just a little hint, if my wife did not trust me then why did she marry me. I am not going to sign a contract for work without her. Very disappointed. They did our backyard. Plants were not aligned (some too far from wall and some too close) and some began to die shortly after. Called them and they agree to come back and replant, never showed up, never answered my calls after that. I had to hire another landscape Company at much lower price to fix the job they did. New combat said there should have been plastic under the rocks to prevent weeds from coming out, no plastic was added. Just disappointed. We called frontier landscaping for an estimate. Brian came out and took the time to ask what we wanted and to draw up the plans. He also showed us several samples of grass and pavers. He gave us an estimate immediately. Now we contacted three other landscaping companies. One of the companies didn't even call us back. Frontier was the highest estimate but Brian was the only one to explain everything. It took about two weeks for them to get started, but once they were done it looks great. I have already recommended the to several co workers. When it come time for the front yard I will defiantly call Frontier Landscaping. read more

We got our landscaping done in October 2018. It is unleveled, two trees died from the water not draining right. It floods in the back yard when it rains and they have said they would come out and fix the problems and have not come yet. We have contacted them several times and they say their coming and still don't show up. We have gotten some estimates from other landscaping and pool companies and they say wow it's so uneven I don't khow the water drains. We are very disappointed with this company lying to us... When I called to find out if they could plant a tree in my front yard was told they only do work over $3000.00 minimum. I have called them so many times so see what were they going to do about it, but they just come up with some reason or another to not to talk with me. I would not mind one or two bumps in my fence, but having 7 of them and this company not wanting to do anything about it is just non-professional. I called this business due to receiving their flyer on our door for a free estimate. The lady that answered the phone was rude to begin with. I informed her that I needed an estimate for my side yard and she questioned me and said "are you sure it's not a backyard". Yes I'm sure it's not a backyard, I'm not stupid! She then goes on to say they have a $3,000 minimum, well then never mind. No where on the flyer said they had a minimum and I have never spoken to a company that has a minimum when it comes to landscaping... I have received multiple quotes for way under that and to say it's a minimum is ridiculous!!! read more

Frontier did a really bang up job on initial concrete sidewalks, paver back patio, lawn and bushes/landscape install. They re-coordinated quickly with Star Nursery to get new plants exchanged in for Golden Arborvitae...the GA bushes are mildly toxic to dogs and they were initially unaware. 3 of 5 hounds went down with new landscape ingestion issues within first 30-days...to the tune of $16K in vet services/emergent surgeries and middle of the night Rainbow Vet VECC visits. Brian was on this from day one personally removing the GA 6 x bushes we had. As the health issues of the dogs continued, we appreciated follow-ups every two weeks with both Mike/owner and Brian/designer-planner-estimator. Texas Ranger sages 6 x and add'l 2-tons of as large a chunky red Rock they could get from Star Nursery was finalized/dropped off and completed about 8-wks after job appeared done to all of us. We are now satisfied with Frontier's service, yet wish the dogs had never gotten ill/eaten shrubs and grass sod squares en masse...we recommend Frontier now that they and Star list Golden Arborvitae as mildly toxic...buyers beware. Thanks to Mike and Brian for a reasonably priced landscape initial go in October and their fairly deliberate and diligent follow-up to get us to wholly satisfied by December/on our mutually-agreed to extended timeline. Recommend, but with cautionary note to always buy pet insurance for your animals regardless of circumstances...$240/month for the three very ill pups was worth ~$80/month each in our situation!!! read more

I was so excited to work with Frontier! Bob came out. He was professional! Drew up the plan right in front of me! I didn't have to wait for him to get back to me with his fancy computer drawing. Told me how much it would be. And it was so much cheaper than any one else I had talked to. I recommended them to my friends, family and neighbors. Then... The work was done. SOOO... Much of it was perfect!!! But, they didn't ask where I wanted what plants. A thorn shrub was planted between walk ways. So children running to the grass may get hurt. The drip system wasn't working and the lights that I bought weren't working. No one ever checked in on me, or told me the work was completed. I called and texted. Finally when I got a call to pay the rest of my balance I told them, but you're not done and the plants are dying. Eventually they swapped the plants. Figured out that they shut off the water, to install the drip, and never turned it back on. So now most of the plants are dead. And I couldn't figure out how to work them... Because they're not connected... To anything! Just a wire laying on the side of the house. Of course they didn't replace the dead plants either, but they have no problem collecting money. read more
