What a rad spot. Even three women who know nothing about cars enjoyed this spot. They have some really cool pieces and not just cars. The women working this place are so sweet and made it super easy for my mom to know where the accessible areas were and what to expect. The museum is well worth the price and super fun. Plus, they show old animated movies, which are included with admission. Make sure to order a malt from the cutest ice cream counter. We ordered an oreo malt with salted caramel syrup and it was divine. read more

A must-see when in Gillette. We only had a short stay in Gillette. I saw this museum come up. We are so glad we stopped. This took us back a few decades. Loved the setup and kind staff. Several different displays. I'm sharing only a few. We spent quite a while looking over everything. We loved it!! The front register area has coffee, ice cream, and candy. They also offer discounts when purchasing museum tickets for a free sticker and also a discount on other local museum. We paid just $12, but well be worth the cost. The museum also has kid themed movies that the little ones can enjoy while you look around. The main entrance has a bathroom and 2 additional bathrooms located in towards the back of the museum. They had a small outdoor area as well but it was raining. They are updating behind the main entrance and would like to see the updates. Seems small but so much to see and admire. read more

This is a great experience for every one of all ages. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The location is very clean and well put together. I was trying to post this for the Commodore Cafe which is part of the Auto Museum. I had been wanting to try their brats for quite awhile- well, today was the day! I got the Gourmet Brat - Reuben. I got it to go but decided to have a bite when I got to my truck. It was delicious and the bun it was in was some of the best bread I've had for awhile. It was crusty on the outside which was wonderful! I shall return soon! read more

We were passing through Gillette and took time to stop and visit friends who have relocated to Gillette. They recommended we check out the auto museum. To be honest, I did not expect much. Boy was my arrogance proven incorrect. This is a real gem located in downtown Gillette. Terrific selection of vintage cars, including makes such as Ford Chevrolet Dodge, Hudson, Nash, and even a Mercury pick up. To be honest, I didn't even know Mercury ever made a pick up truck. We are told the place struggles to break even. Just not enough traffic coming through. If you live in Gillette, please support it. If you happen to be traveling through Gillette, take a couple hours and stop in. read more

What a cute gem this place is. Three generations of collectors made this possible. There is something for everyone to look at. The way they set it up with little store fronts to display their antiques was so interesting. Even as a 1970's kid, there was a lot of stuff I remembered & shared stories with my adult kids. Nice surprise. Frankly, we needed something to do on a rainy day. What a great surprise. Both the store and the museum were worthwhile and a lot of fun. As someone born in 1950s, lots of nostalgia with an excellent collection of automobiles (I think I heard 15 cars and the sounds right) and just lots of fun memorabilia from my own and my parents' era. This is worthwhile sunny or rainy. Very nice staff and owners! (Even let you play on their vintage pinball with free quarters!) read more

If you enjoy the world of antique cars and motorcycles the Frontier Auto Museum is a great spot to see! The Museum offers an assortment of beautifully restored Hudson automobiles, uncommon cars that are rarely seen anymore. Take a particular look at the Hudson convertible - it's a gem! Remember the old time gas pumps with the big glass reservoirs? You'll see lots of them here. In fact, just about anything relating to transportation can be found at the Pioneer, all knowledgeably displayed. You also find great gifts and antiques, and the staff is friendly and helpful as an be. read more

This museum offers exceptional displays that fill the floor space (15,000 sf) and hang from the ceiling and walls. Our group of seventeen travelled 250 to 350 miles specifically to visit the Frontier Auto Museum and we were deeply impressed. Amazing and diverse collection and very friendly staff. read more
