This is my favorite gun shop in Cheyenne. I've been to them all. The staff is very friendly, and you can talk about a lot more than just guns, so it's fun to hang out a while when you have some free time. They never make you feel rushed, and very importantly, they understand all the laws surrounding firearms transfers, so you don't get stupid answers like you do at a lot of chain stores. I have purchased several items here, not just guns, and they always appreciate every sale, no matter how small. I had some gunsmithing done and wasn't real impressed, but they made it right, I'm glad they stand by their work. Ownership changed hands in the past year or maybe a little more, not exactly sure on the time frame, but I have only dealt with the new owners, so this review is only on the current staff. read more

It's a mixed bag with this place. I had two straight forward and good transactions with the usual staff but one time I came in trying to sell a custom rifle and it was pretty sketch. The young guy at the counter offered me one price which was pretty reasonable considering I knew I was selling for a loss. Then he asked the opinion from some older guy in the back Id never met before. I told him the retail price for the rifle and what the scope and chassis was worth when I got them and what I was hoping to get, to start haggling down but he told me my higher end Vortex scope wasn't shit cause of the brand haha. I mean vortex isn't great but that's a pretty weird way to start the conversation. Especially considering I was already asking for just over half the cost of everything bought separately. After he left, I asked the young guy about his original offer and he said I can't buy it from you for that now, like I snapped the rifle in half or something haha. This mustve been their afternoon crew because they looked and did business like pawn shop guys. It seemed a lot like they were trying to nick a really nice custom rifle from me for a quarter of the price just to upsell it because I went in acting like I didn't know nothing. Anyhow I'd do business with the usual dudes over Rocky Mountain but some of their newer guys they had working later were questionable to say the least. read more

Used to love this shop, now there's this bald guy who never shuts up who works the counter. Talks about how he used to bench press 1,000 lbs, said when he was deployed tier-1 guys were amazed at his strength. Talks about how he can beat people's ass with a smile on his face, extremely arrogant and never shuts up. Won't be back. read more

The BEST customer service experience in a long, long time. These guys have a great little store and they are a small, local business. They have a great selection and the prices are on point. Came here from out of town and found many items that the big box places have had out of stock since covid started! They had many firearms that I would of bought if I was a resident ! We were first time hand gun owners. We went here because they were a local shop and had a good reputation. The owners worked with us to find the best guns for our needs. They were super patient with us being rookies in the hand gun world. Ryan took the time to explain the pros and cons of each gun. His knowledge was 2nd to none. My wife and I walked out very happy customers. Our daughter went to the store later that day and they were amazing helping her too. We have now went through a handgun safety class and joined the local shooting range. I returned to the shop a couple of days ago and ordered a new revolver. They placed the order and beat any other shops price. Ryan and Lacy are the best. They are "all about" customer satisfaction and service. We will be lifetime customers. The time to visit Frontier Arms is early in the day. They have an amazing selection of guns and ammo. The service is friendly at this time of the day, and they have just about anything you could possibly want. Now, that being said, I don't recommend this place after 3PM. This seems to be when the good ol' boy friends of the owner decide to show up, and spew there lack of intelligence for all around to hear. I am a proud hand gun owner and a Democrat. I come here to shop and make purchases, not listen to the old men go on and on about the newest lies that Fox News has brainwashed these people into believing. I would give Frontier Arms a 5-Star rating if it weren't for these ignorant fools that hang out there on a daily basis. It just makes for a very unpleasant experience. read more

I've been in the store numerous times over a 10 year period. Had some minor gunsmithing performed and I have purchased various parts, ammo and the like. I've browsed their shelves and left empty handed too. These folks have always welcomed me whether my billfold came out or not. The cashier, and I say that wholesomely, was very rude. Tried talking to me as if I had no knowledge of firearms, but unfortunately for him I graduated from the Colorado School of Trades. While in the store he carried himself with a pompous attitude, quite annoying but none the less manageable. After seeing that the store was carrying the brand as well as the number of magazines I needed, which was only 3 magazines,he proceeded to tell me that I can't "clear us out" as if though that was my intention. When I asked if the magazines were rare he then says " no but with the way things are, what else do you want? A roll of toilet paper with that?". It was at that moment I just paid for what I was able to get and left. Stray away from toxic individuals like that, find people with positive attitudes, helpful intentions and don't smear you with an outlook that you are some sort of crazy or problematic person when you are just trying to purchase what you NEED. I had some bolt work done with the young gunsmith. Unfortunately he failed to open up the faces of the bolts 100% like he should of and left steps in the bolt face which keeps the shell from being flat on the bolt face. I didn't pay a lot, but its not a place Ill take any of my firearms work be worked on from this poor gunsmith service. read more

Frontier Arms is my go-to gun store. Friendly, knowledgable and they have a great selection. I think the folks who run it are really good people, and their gunsmith really knows what he's doing. I wouldn't take a damaged gun anywhere else to be repaired, and I go to them first to make a new purchase. Frontier Arms is great and they are well worth supporting. read more
