Mostly why I'm writing a review now is a lot of the staff there is snarky. I don't like that. The store itself is also generally overpriced. A horrible combo. Again yesterday the lady was snarky. The last time few times I was in there it's been similar- just doesn't get better. It's the same faces with the same poor attitudes. I will say that the older gentleman that cashiers has a great attitude. Guess I'll just have to plan better and get nearly anything i can buy in the local outdoors store at Amazon in the future. They never make you feel rushed, and very importantly, they understand all the laws surrounding firearms transfers, so you don't get stupid answers like you do at a lot of chain stores. I have purchased several items here, not just guns, and they always appreciate every sale, no matter how small. I had some gunsmithing done and wasn't real impressed, but they made it right, I'm glad they stand by their work. Ownership changed hands in the past year or maybe a little more, not exactly sure on the time frame, but I have only dealt with the new owners, so this review is only on the current staff.

I brought my Glock 17 in to have a $200 set of Trijicon sights professionally installed. Instead, the owner and an older gunsmith damaged the sights to the point that they were no longer usable. Despite this, I was still charged $45 for the installation, and the damage was never disclosed to me. When I returned to address the issue and request reimbursement, their proposed solution was to install another set for free -- provided I purchased the replacement sights myself. In other words, I was expected to absorb the cost of their mistake. I'm now out $245, with damaged sights, no reimbursement, and not even an apology. What makes this particularly disappointing is that I'm an active-duty service member and a repeat customer. I wasn't asking for special treatment -- just basic professionalism, accountability, and an effort to make things right. I would caution anyone considering this business for gunsmithing services to think carefully before trusting them with their firearm or expensive components. There are other options, and based on my experience, I would strongly recommend exploring them.

So, had i…read morebelieved any of these obnoxious screeds, I would have to grit my teeth and brace for the worst possible retail experience. After all, I was just there to do a transfer-- not a high dollar transaction-- to be sure. On top of that, the store was full of customers looking at an estate sale batch of Garands, 1903A3s,P17s and a couple of A4s.. Any sale to any of these customers would have realized maybe 99+ times as much as a firearm transfer. As Abraham Lincoln said, "You can't always believe everything you read on the internet." Boy was he right. I was treated to a smooth transaction by courteous employees. No grumpiness. No impatience. No surly behavior. No rushing or pushing. (By either me or the RMGT people.) I couldn't ask for a more perfect transaction or better treatment. Rereading again some of the flameout reviews, I saw a common thread of anxiousness and touchiness coming most likely from a desire to be acknowledged as being very much in the know about firearms or perhaps being less than completely in the know. Also, i think I detected some bruised egos. I detected no humility, reminding me of myself when I was learning that unless I actually knew lots about a subject, I should shut up and listen. RMGT and its employees don't deserve a bad rap. They are good people.

Not only did they assemble my trike for a great price, but Tony also helped me load it on my modified motorcycle rack. He also spent the time to help with another modification to keep the exhaust from my car damaging the rear tires. Didn't even know that was a possibility! Wow! I took my bike…read moreto a shop in Portland before I moved away. They took a week to just look at it. Then washed it and added a part they charged 3x for, neither of which I requested. They said it had a list of items that needed fixed and would be a 7 week wait, $170 on top of the extra $50 they tried to charge for funsies, with a suggestion of $3-400 more to optionally replace the forks that "might've" not been working properly and weren't replaceable. Now I realize they were trying to push me buy a new bike. Plus they treated me like I ate babies. Brought it to Bicycle Station and the mechanic found everything in perfect working order. Tightened it up and got it ready for me to ride after being kicked around while moving. And charged me *nothing!* I was greeted with a big smile and treated with respect and given answers to all my questions. What a stark difference! This has been such a stress on my mind and now totally melted away. Fantastic! Thanks so much guys.
