Unfortunately I am taking back my original 5 star review. I attempted to order food online, no success. I called, they left me on hold. I drove there and they were unhelpful. I always order chicken quesadilla and substitute for grilled chicken and suddenly they don't know how to do it. The place was empty. The manager was giggling and unhelpful. We visited Stone Mountain on Valentines weekend. There weren't a lot of non-fast food chain restaurants that were open late. We were pleasantly surprised by the food at this location. We had the tilapia and beef fajitas and both were well prepared and fresh. The decor is very new/modern and bright. The service was on point and multiple people checked in on us throughout our dinner. It was a great find and we'd definitely go back again when visiting the area. read more

This was my first time visiting Frontera since the building burned down & was rebuilt. The physical space came back way better than before. Very minimalist and modern sleek. It's a great environment for family or date. They have a new menu that is nothing like what Frontera usually offers. It was very modern and servings were definitely less. For example when you visit frontera you usually get a basket of chips and a bowl or 2 of salsa. At this location I received a smaller cup of tortilla chips with little bowls of salsa (picture attached). The same for the main courses, they were presented in a modern, updated way with beautiful plating but serving sizes were definitely off from the norm. On the bright side, the service and bar drinks were spot on great! If this was not a Frontera my expectations wouldn't have been what they were and I would have been happy with the visit. What threw me off was going in expecting ting one thing & getting something else. I will go back again but now I know what to expect. read more

I like the free chips and salsa, queso cheese dip as well. Bar area was nice with big screen tvs. Our party of three all ordered the Super Speedy on the lunch menu that came with an enchilada, hard taco, rice, and refried bean. First time back since they rebuilt due to the fire. It looks amazing and has a fun atmosphere. They brought over a cute appetizer with 3 dips and cute chips/strips. The steak in my fajitas was very good and the hubby's street tacos were great. The house margarita was ok. I'm a light weight and I didn't taste any alcohol, seemed watered down. Maybe we will try the Texas next time but it's more expensive for the same amount of drink. I liked the salsa trio but I miss the regular chips. I thought we'd get some when we ordered the guacamole but we got more of the strips. The guacamole also needed a little more seasoning but was fresh. We will be back as it the mess we're great. Awesome vibes! Parking was easy but then again I went on a weekday. Very welcoming upon entering we were greeted and seated right away. We were given menus and some time to decide on our order. They had music playing it was pleasant and at a low volume. Our waitress was Julissa and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. She took our drink order first I ordered the strawberry margarita with tajin around the rim ummm that was good it was $12...I then ordered the homestyle guacamole $12.99 and the shrimp fajitas nachos $21.99. Everything came out at a decent time and very delicious. For dessert I ordered the Flan 6.49 and baby that was the star!! I'm associated with a few companies that work with restaurants and I was told that this place is extremely clean and friendly. Friendly & clean restaurants... we have to check it out. This place is FANTASTIC, it earned a nickname from me lol. I'm call this place slumber time . When you first walk in, you are greeted with a smile from the hostess, from there our waitress Julissa, she was outstanding. Julissa gave a few suggestions and just a friendly warm type of vibe. First the drinks , idk about who's reading my reviews however I'm tried of going to places and all they add for a drink is syrup and alcohol.. not here, they actually make QUALITY DRINKS... OMG. The food taste like they have someone Grandmother trapped in the kitchen cooking.... DELICIOUS . We even ordered lemon pepper wings too and you know some lemon pepper wings be too salty.. not here, just the perfect seasoning and juicy. The quantity and quality of food you get here is OMG. Dessert I had the fried ice cream, we felt like we was on a resort. We check out soo many restaurants and this place was a pleasant surprise and they are known for being clean. Where the general public can't see I will recommend, refer, and will be back and ask for Julissa because she is Outstanding. My wife and I were regular customers at Frontera in Stone Mountain before the fire. We were so glad when it reopened, but were completely disappointed with the chips and salsa offered. It was 3 small dishes of different salsas and some tiny chips instead of the large chips and larger dishes of salsa. Since that is one of our favorite treats, we stopped going to the Stone Mountain location and now go to the Frontera on 5 Forks and Sugarloaf Parkway. Hasta luego !! read more

I've been going to this restaurant since I was a kid. A fire destroyed it and I hadn't been in years. Tonight my family decided to go after it had been built back up, renovated and reopened. I was pleasantly surprised. They still had the same favorites on the menu. I got what I used to get as a kid... The crazy Taco and it was the best it's ever been. My mom got the spinach quesadillas and she loved them and my dad got a Caesar salad and a blackberry daiquiri and loved his too. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. They changed all of the ambience and it's so much better than before. Great vibe The only critique would be to offer more chips up front. They used to give a big basket of tortilla chips with the dips and now they give the table a very tiny little cup of chips. However, you can ask for free refills. I just think they should start with a little bigger container so that the wait staff doesn't have to constantly run to the kitchen to get more. Chips are cheap and I think they could put more out without a problem. Aside from that.. Everything was wonderful. Oh and the meal portions were still nice and big. We will be back! read more

Wow! This place has really changed since the fire. Finally opened for business. Drive by on my way to running errands and just had to stop even though it wasn't a planned stop. So here are the changes for you old timers. Restaurant is totally updated to 2024 styles (see picture). Menu is really pared down (see picture) but the good news is they still have the crazy taco and the wonderful tocayo salsa. Yummy! The chips get served different (they are tortilla strip chips) and at lunch they gave me a sample dipping tray (see pic). The new patio is fabulous but HWY 78 is soo loud it really distracted me and I don't think I will choose patio seating again because the noise was over the top. Not Frontera's fault. I like the combo 1/2 booth/chair split they have all over the restaurant. Plus size people choose the booth side not the chair side. If you weight more than 150 lbs don't sit in that chair you've topped out the rating. The legs are these little spindly metal twigs and they will make the skin slide off your teeth when you drag them across the floor. They look fantastic but I don't see them lasting. I sat at one for 3 1/2 seconds and decided to get up while the getting was good. I've posted a few pictures so you can check out some of the changes. I got the crazy burrito and could not finish it. Service was great. Food was about the same as before. So I imagine I will have to find my new favorite on the redone menu. They do have a lunch menu too. If management is listening the parking spaces are too tight you need wider parking spots pls. I'm constantly seeing the driver having to pull out of the spots to let passengers get in and out with damage to their car or others. read more

Dropped in for a quick meal. I've been going to Frontera's Mexican since I was in my teens, so didn't mind it when my coworkers mentioned eating here. It's in a strip shopping center and weirdly placed in the middle. Not a lot of parking space near the entrance. We were seated quickly in a booth and they brought us out the chips and salsa. They serve two different types of salsa here: spicy and smoky. The spicy was good, smoky was meh and the chips were decent. Our waiter was quick with everything and food came fast. I had the fajita quesadilla with chicken. It came out with a huge quesadilla and not cut into pieces. No sides, just lettuce, sour cream, some cheese and tomatoes (didn't look our taste like pico). I wasn't really a fan of how they did the quesadilla and I didn't like the taste, plus no pico or rice/beans with it. I wouldn't recommend it. 2.5 stars rounded up to 3 for the service. Ok, but probably won't be back again to this side of town. read more

What you need to know: Big portions, mostly Tex-mex - so not super authentic, but still very flavorful, decent value for their staples, yet overpriced for any specials. Used to come here a lot in my high school days, and decided to order via UberEats today as I had a craving. Definitely brought me back - same great flavors. Food: Went with the tried and true xochitl soup and decided to try the vampiro tacos. The xochitl soup had great flavor that complimented both the chicken and the rice in it perfectly. The sliced avocado gave a nice creaminess to the soup and the added diced jalapeño gave it a nice kick. Perfect for a cold day. The vampiro tacos were ok. They came in a set of 3 huge tacos. The steak was slightly overdone, but still flavorful and very cheesy. I probably wouldn't order them again since they're not my style, but I can see why people like them a lot. Tons of flavors and cheese - who wouldn't like that? I got a bag of chips and salsa with my meal and the chips were perfectly crispy, while the salsa was top notch - full of flavor without being too much heat. Price: Ended up paying about $40 with tip and delivery fee included. Too much for what I got. The tacos were definitely overpriced at almost $18 for just three of them, but the soup was well worth it. All in all, this continues to be one location that seems to be consistent with their food. You won't like everything, but you'll find some consistent gems for yourself - like the xochitl soup for me. Definitely will be ordering from here again. read more
