The sign out front says they have $1 tacos in large letters displayed for any passing cars. I decided to come recently for the first time excited to enjoy the special deal. After arriving we immediately experienced bad service as our waitress was very rude. We asked about the special and we got looked at as if we were crazy for asking about the huge sign in the front of the building. The manager came over and explained they discontinued the deal in March...... 2020!!!!! Almost a year and a half ago and not once did they think to take down the sign. It is clear they intended to fraud customers by leaving this sign up and enticing people to come under the assumption it was still active. Fine. We were upset but still decided to order food. They must of wanted us out the door because it came back in 5 minutes clearly frozen and thrown in a microwave. The food was bland and was lukewarm. I seriously doubt many of the past reviews of this place are legitimate as what we saw is a clear one star restaurant. Please beware I've since heard from others that this location specifically is run very poorly while the others are much better. read more

This place is one of our favorite go-tos for dinner - everything I've had is delicious and flavorful. The service is always super friendly and fast, even with a large group. I'd say groups and families are more than welcome here, which is why we always pick it for boisterous friend dinners and out of town guests. My favorite thing to order is the Santa Fe Chimichangas with chicken, with a mango margarita. My vegetarian husband is more than satisfied with his options here as well. read more

Absolutely delicious!!!!!! Excellent service, and very authentic mexican food for excellent prices. I happen to think dinner was really cheap even though this place has a double $$ for prices. Two of us had dinner and appitizers for $45. We were so stuffed from the appitizers that we had to take 90% of our dinners home. I have left overs for days. I didn't take pics of the appitizers (which could be meals on their own) but I posted pics of our dinners and the bill. This is a family friendly atmosphere. I would go later in the evening if you would like to avoid lots of kids lols. Also they have a bar too!! Happy eating!! read more

My Girlfriend was bragging about Frontera as a great lunch spot a while. She finally took me here to dinner this week. Everything was authentic mexican and delicious. Everything was delivered to our table promptly, my waiter was very nice and I was very happy with the service. Its great to have a good little Mexican spot in town! Thanks for everything! read more

Just ate there for lunch for the first time. Took my in laws and brother in law there who came here on vacation. They are Mexican and wanted to try it out. The food was real Mexican... not generic out of a can stuff. We had chips and salsa for an appetizer which was very good. Then I had the street tacos which was served hot and fresh. My party of five adults and four children loved everything. The service was great. Never had to ask for a refilled drink. The bill was about right for what we ordered. No complaints about anything. Also if your not into mexican like your friends they have a vegaterian menu and an all american side menu. Please go and check it out! read more

I go here regularly. Food is excellent, waitstaff are top notch, ambiance much like the food is authentic. Big fan of the chile rellenos. All food is really good. They do need to learn to make a good Irish coffee or Mexican coffee, that is the only thing i find sub par. Will continue to patronize. Love the food. read more

Arrived late about 45 min before closing - the staff was very friendly - the margharitas were excellent as well as the food. I had steak and shrimp and my wife had a verde chicken - Both were prepared perfectly - food was really fresh - outstanding guoc. Our server was the nicest, in fact she was quite lovely. Got here at 6:30 on a Saturday night with a reservation. Didn't have to wait too long to sit, and it was busy but not anything crazy. TWO HOURS later we get our food. I came here with two other adults and two kids, and there is no reason our food should take that long as we only got tacos. Food but subpar, most definitely not worth waiting two hours for. The only reason I gave two stars was because our waiter talked the manager without us having to ask about how long our food was taking. read more

We love Frontera Grill! One of the best Mexican restaurants in the area! The service is consistently above average. The drinks are wonderful, I recommend the coconut margarita! First off, one of the waiters asked us if we wanted more chips- we said yes- then he brought them to all the tables, even the one next to us, but NOT US. Also, this restaurant has a blocked wifi that needs a password that was not given to us. The food so far was pretty good. I WISH I COULD EAT MORE CHIPS. So yeah, 1/5 stars. Update: My quesadilla was very good. I wish I was given more guac and less sour cream, but otherwise it was pretty good. On the other hand, my friend ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad and it was horrible. The dressing tasted like fish and the lettuce tasted like leaves I would find in my backyard. This experience was okay, I just hope I won't get food poisoning. read more

Comrones 1800 was delicious!!! The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because they bought out shrimp tacos instead of the grilled tacos for my fiancé. I tasted the fish taco and it was out of this world with flavor, the fish was blackened and had a bit of a crunch on the outside. I will definitely get them if we get the chance to go back. read more

A group of four of us stopped in for dinner a week or so ago. We are from central ma but we were in the area so we figured we would stop by and give it a try. The ambiance is nice, it's a decent size restaurant but you definitely have your own space which is a plus vs sitting super close to other tables. We were seated right away and the waiter was attentive. We all ordered drinks. I ordered the mango mojito, which I was definitely happy with. Everyone agreed their drinks were good. There wasn't a long wait for the food. There was definitely ample serving sizes of all our dishes. The fajitas that two of our group ordered were delicious and satisfying. My friend and I ordered dishes with chicken. She said hers was okay and I thought mine was extremely dry. I normally go to a Mexican restaurant in Worcester who also serves enchiladas suizas and they have always been excellent. These were not horrible, but the chicken was too dry for the meal to be rated more then three stars. We had also ordered guacamole for an appetizer which they brought over, already made, in a bowl. I didn't mind that, but my boyfriend was a little bothered by the fact that they had a cart with a server making fresh guacamole that came down our section shortly after. Otherwise, the check came quickly and the service was friendly throughout the meal. I wouldn't go this out of my way for Mexican in the future as I live in Worcester and there are ample delicious choices in my area. read more

Frontera is my favorite western Mass Mexican spot. Their food is always fresh, and it's one of the few spots around that offers REAL, AUTHENTIC Mexican food. Their margaritas are massive, delicious, and potent. Service is decent, but you may wait for awhile for your food if it's busy, which isn't a big deal for me because the food is worth waiting for. You can't go wrong with the Deluxe Burrito or the World's best tacos! read more

I've been frequenting Frontera Grill (Chicopee) for about 3 years. I absolutely love their food, and the environment. Taco Tuesday is a great time and the energy in the Bar area is quite something! Wednesday nights they have a Mariachi band, and it adds to the environment but it does get a bit loud and boisterous. read more

This restaurant is not affiliated with Rick Bayless. $6.50 for a small guacamole is ridiculous. I had the comb plate for $11.95 . The tamale was rock hard, dry and obviously from several days ago. The chili relano lacked flavor, the chimichanga was cubed pork pieces in a deep fried shell. They call themselves "Fresh-Mex". NO they are not. The plate was hot as hell as typical americanized mexican places prepare them. I could tell the food was all premade, put on a plate and heated under a broiler. Save your money and find another Mexican place to eat. read more

This place is a huge disappointment. We went in at 7pm on a Friday and it was almost empty. it still took over 5 minutes for someone to come to our table and almost 20 minutes for 2 sodas and a beer. The salsa was super mild and weak with no alternative spicier options. My burrito was actually filled with all seemingly-fresh ingredients, but it was bland. My husband and I were delighted with the meal we had here, about a month after they opened. The decor and ambience were great, and the service excellent. We tried taquitos to start, and they were terrific, as were the chips and salsa. I loved my Baja fish tacos, and my husband also loved his beef burrito. I'm unimpressed. The good-but-watery salsa arrived with a bowl of chips, but we couldn't place our order or get drinks out of our server for at least 20 minutes. It was pretty ridiculous. I finally ordered a grilled chicken quesadilla and although it wasn't actually bad, it was bland as can be. Plain chicken and plain cheese, nothing more. I visit from So Cal every year - land of abundant fresh Mexican food. I was skeptical about Mexican food in MA, but no longer. I had the carnitas plate with rice, beans and guacamole. OMG! The pork was tender, succulent, and perfectly seasoned. Rice and beans excellent. The guacamole was perfect! Not a sad green mess of mystery ingredients, but fresh chunks of avocado seasoned perfectly. I didn't realize tortillas did not come with meal, as they do back home. I asked for some corn tortillas, and they didn't blink an eye, just quickly delivered a steaming batch to the table. I am a foodie and eat fresh and organic whenever possible. Had lunch here today with two friends. Food was great. Salsa and chips - fresh and delicious. Burritos, tacos, refried beans --- all terrific. Waitstaff courteous and attentive. I would not call this place "authentic Mexican" food but it was tasty Tex Mex. The salsa with the chips were wonderful and a nice treat before the main course. I don't recall the name of my dish but it was one of the combination platters with one chile relleno, one tamale, and one enchilada. The chile relleno was outstanding but everything else was....meh. Decent food - fair prices. Unfortunately I sat at the bar and watched every waiter bare hand every dessert that was served. They take it from the fridge pick it up with bare hands and put it off the plate. Put the design on the plate then touch the food again and put it back on the plate.
