Also, there will be classes off blocking off the entire weight room during my only period of time to work out so I am unable to get the kettlebell weights needed for my exercises due to a class using a PUBLIC room. Lastly, the pickleball afternoon times are so limited and they will randomly have lessons without posting anywhere on the virtual schedule causing people to drive all the way there and they can't use the gym for the already limited pickleball times. I mean you guys have two apps (confusing!) you'd think you could figure out how to post the times online... The good: for what you get with the classes and really nice showers the price is relatively affordable.

For what this is, this place is pretty awesome…read more What this place is is: A large sports complex that has the capacity to house adult recreational soccer, kids' volleyball, roller derby, high school baseball, etc., etc. It's owned and operated by the Milwaukee County Parks System. Essentially, it's a giant field house that can accommodate any and all types of sporting matches you can think of (save for swimming, ice skating, etc.) You get the idea. A giant giant indoor space can be divided into four different spaces, and rental rates are relatively inexpensive. For larger spectator events, the Sports Complex staff will do parking, security, concessions, etc. There are large-ish locker rooms and ample bathrooms for a place of this size. They have bleachers. The have outdoor fields as well for soccer, baseball, and whatever else you could want to play outside. We played our first four Bruiser home seasons here, and despite the fact that it's not exactly centrally located (it's all the way out in Franklin), it suited our growing needs just fine. (Now, however, we've moved to the US Cellular Arena, as we could no longer fit our fan base into the Sports Complex.) It's a nice addition to our parks system, and a great place for kids/amateur/recreational sporting matches. It was great for our BCB home season too, but change is good, too.

In the past, group exercise classes like yoga and bodypump held my interest briefly, but that interest would wane within a month. I joined Top Line at the urging of a friend, and within two weeks my attitudes toward myself and my abilities changed dramatically. This isn't a fancy gym. There is no upscale locker room, no juice bar, no supplements station, no tanning beds. It's a former warehouse with hardcore equipment, and it's given me the greatest workout of my life. More than that, it's given me greater physical strength than I've ever possessed, and results I still can't believe. I started out with two sessions a week, quickly upped that to three, and then added a strength program soon after. It turns out that there is nothing more addictive than results. Within a month of joining, I started seeing muscle definition. Soon after, my clothing sizes began to drop (I went from a snug ladies' 12 to a loose 6 within a few months). I was sleeping better, had more energy, and people around me started to notice how different I looked. Top Line changed me physically, but it also changed my attitudes and habits. Through meal planning and guidance, my diet has become dramatically healthier. I have become "that girl" who encourages her friends to exercise, who helps others with food choices, and who can recommend a great protein shake... things that still surprise me. While the equipment and programming is top-of-the-line, the real Top Line experience comes from the people. This is a gym where the coaches and your fellow gym-goers work as a team. Everyone encourages and assists. I never feel afraid that I'm doing something incorrectly, or that I'm going to hurt myself, because there is always someone there to assist and guide. It's something I'd never experienced in a gym before, and it's definitely on the list of top ten things that keep me coming back. Top Line isn't just physique-changing. It's life-changing. My friend and I took the Learn to Curl class and loved it! The event was very well organized…read more We arrived, checked in and signed a waiver. They had shoe grippers available for everyone. The session started with a quick intro video and then we went out on the ice for more instructions. They have 5 sheets and we divided into smaller groups of 8 for the lesson. The volunteer instructors were fabulous! They were great at explaining the game, answering questions and providing tips. The team there is experienced and very friendly! After the class there was pizza and beer as well as time to socialize with the team and instructors. We had a great time and highly recommend this class!

What more do you want? I'm so glad we took one of the Learn to Curl classes - we became members before we left that day - and now I can just hope to get some pants like those Norwegian guys!
