My first appointment here was fantastic. The NP who saw me was kind, efficient, and very informative. That's why they get 2 stars instead of 0. I needed a skin cancer removed from the top of my head and it was scheduled for a few weeks out. When they called to tell me what I would have to pay, I asked if I could use CareCredit and they said yes. There were problems with the CareCredit app and the provider website on the day. The person at the desk initially refused to call the provider customer service number, but finally did, and got my account information about 15-20 minutes after I arrived. After all this, I hear them talking about rescheduling someone amongst themselves, not once saying anything directly to me until I asked. That's when they confirm that "this took too long to resolve" and they would reschedule me for the 29th (when I'm out of town for work). I can't take off another day from work, so I will clearly just walk around with skin cancer on my head. Here's where they went wrong: 1) at no time did anyone tell me to be there early -- they said to arrive at 9.30, and I arrived at 9.25. 2) at any time they could have and should have said, "if this takes more than X number of minutes we will need to reschedule you," and I simply would have paid with a different card. 3) when initially asked to call the provider number, they should have agreed. 4) someone should have had the courtesy to talk directly to me instead of talking around me and making me ask if they were talking about rescheduling me. Now let's be clear that a good bit of this is CareCredit's fault for not maintaining a workable app or website, but Front Range Dermatology has also failed miserably today, in spite of all the "customer friendly" platitudes they plaster all over their website and entrance. If THEY had been running late for any reason they would have 100% made me wait and I would not have been able to say anything about that either. read more

Why it was not a great experience: 1) Via reminder of my appointment I find out I was placed in the Fort Collins office ( mine was in Greeley). I had to double my drive time for a doctor I had not met before and made it seem very impersonal. 2) It was more of an extensive procedure than I was prepared for. I wish I would've been prepared more. 3) The assistant doing the dressing on the wound was incompetent. She threw the paper of instructions at me of what I should do at home and Did Not go over them with me. I started to read and ask questions. Nothing like this was said before with the doctor. She just simply said what don't you understand. I said I didn't know I had to redress the wound. She said it was standard but don't worry about it. I asked about other things. Again she didn't go over it just handed me the paper. 4) I never received a follow up call from the doctor to check on me that evening or the day after. Definitely a sign of 'we do not care about the patient just the quota and the profit of the procedure. ' I will not recommend this office. read more

Went here in 2022 and they didn't charge insurance and the procedure was $25. Went back Dec 2024 for the exact same thing and they sent to insurance claiming it's a $200 procedure. Called billing to get it taken care of and she said there are no notes from 2022 and that's how much the procedure is. Not willing to help or work with me at all. read more

Dr Wilde removed a spitz tumor on our son today. He and his assistant were both so kind and professional. They made sure all our questions were answered and called later in the evening to check up on our son. Dr Wilde reflected confidence and was thorough and efficient. He was very good about explaining everything from beginning to end. Highly impressed and really appreciated the nurse who was assisting him as well. She was so kind and personable. After the procedure, I was impressed that the internal stitches closed the incision so smoothly and that no external/visible stitches were needed. It looks great and our son has little to no discomfort even though the numbing shots have worn off. Dr Wilde was phenomenal and I highly recommend him. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained things in a way our son understood. read more

I was talked into doing the most expensive treatment for a ward, which of course didn't get covered by insurance. I paid out of pocket and the treatment ended up not even working. Not many choices for appointment times and long waiting time on site with appointment. read more

I am an established patient with a cancer (Melanoma) history. I had been seeing the doctors at Front Range for several years for my skincancer rechecks. I've always been told that if I had any symptoms to call and get in to be seen. Recently I developed symptoms that my primary care physician said needed "urgent attention ". I called Front Range and had to leave a message. No response. I left more messages, some times twice a day...for a week!! Finally, someone called me back after I left a somewhat heated message. Needless to say I did not schedule and found a new physician that has time for me and my health care. read more

Yesterday was my first time visiting Front Range Dermatology. I was referred here from my own doctor for a couple of procedures. From the front desk ladies to the one's taking care of my needs I am very satisfied. Nicole and her assistant took the time to review things with me. I have a rare condition that so often many people don't know about but Nicole was well aware and was able to help me with my needs and discuss options. I went to the Loveland branch in May to be seen by Dr. Hoover but didn't write my review until now because I wanted to give them a fair shot at fixing the issues before I did. I got there 20 minutes early for my appointment and I was the first appointment of the day but the woman at the front desk took 15 minutes to get set up after I arrived and then even helped someone who got there after me first! Because of that, I didn't have time to fully finish filling out my paperwork before I was called back. Also, I am on the transgender spectrum and requested they put my non-legal name in my chart (I've been unable to afford the $300 it takes to legally change your name in Colorado) and she had a very nasty attitude about it; I was called the wrong name when I was called back and was called it again even after I corrected the nurse. As for the appointment itself, Dr. Hoover was barely in the room for 5 minutes and I couldn't get a word in edgewise. I wasn't able to properly describe my symptoms to him and the whole appointment was so rushed; not at all thorough. The nurse claimed later it's because they were "running behind" and so they were rushed but I find this completely unacceptable because I was the first appointment of the day and was there with plenty of time to spare. I shouldn't have gotten sub-par service because the woman at the front desk wasn't ready to check people in when the office opened. I also was given a medication I am SEVERELY allergic to and definitely told the nurse I'm allergic to; it is listed in my chart when I sign into the online patient portal. I complained to the clinic manager and she said she'd get it taken care of and promised me a written apology for that, the front desk woman's whole attitude toward me about my transgender status and name, the way I was treated by the staff in general, etc era. I never received said apology. These people are just some of the worst medical professionals I have ever seen. Edit to add: It is against Colorado law to discriminate against someone based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. The way I was treated is against the law and I'm still angry about it over a year later. read more

I had an concern with a procedure that I had done here and could not get anyone to listen to my concern. I tried calling and left a message with the office staff only to have no one follow up. I then went to the office to try and find a solution for my concern with the surgery I had only to be confronted by a couple of very verbally aggressive staff members. I felt personal attacked and was embarrassed in front of the entire office staff and patients in the waiting room. I ended up leaving do to the personnel conflict as I was confronted with. Also my private information was shared about an outstanding bill that apparently was owned. FYI I paid up front out of pocket for the services as it was there own billing policy. This information was shouted out to the entire general public in the office. In the end there was no resolution for my concerns for the service or lack of service that I received from this place. You can really tell a lot about a business by how they handle issues with customers after they already got your money. Very unprofessional. Hope my cut on my head isn't infected and cause more issues than I went in for. read more

I went to a Blu-Light treatment there, first payment was $189.00 and the second they said I had to pay another $400.00 something, I refused to pay and kindly said I'd like to talk to accounting: F accounting called me later to explain I had my deductible and apologized. I saw the doctor only the first visit for about 1/2 hour, then assistants from then on, different staff each time My last follow up appt was about 15 mi a long, and I saw the doctor for about 2 mins I would not recommend this office read more

I've waited nearly seven decades to find doctors this good. Pros. I can't believe some complain about wait times - when these guys may be delivering someone the worst news that they waited to long to have that spot looked at. Or maybe if not saving someone's life, they're saving someone's appearance from the devastation of skin cancer. Still, I have not experienced anything but the very best from this practice and the incredible Staff Dr's. Hoover and Wilde have assembled for our mutual benefit. Doctor Hoover is the ONLY dermatologist that didn't just ask me for suspicious spots but actually used a system to look me over head to foot to be sure. There is genuine depth of knowledge, skill, dedication, and devotion to the welfare of his patient in this man that fulfills the noble title of Doctor. He found what my untrained eye could not see. Dr. Wilde is the clinic surgeon, who pairs perfectly with my description of Dr. Hoover. This is a true team. He removed a rapidly advancing cancer on my face. Think about the talent and guts that takes to perform. It's serious surgery the effects of which you could not see once the surgical area healed. These men had to get through medical school, internship, form a business, hire an amazing staff, and go through all the paperwork, risk and gut ache to keep all of us healthy. We can't pay them enough. We can't thank them enough. For all of their sacrifices to deliver care, gratitude will have to make up the difference. I am severely unimpressed with the treatment I have been given thus far. I have been getting treatment for my acne for the past couple months at the Greeley location and since the very first time I was seen, the provider told me that I should have come in a long time ago and that they weren't sure what they could do about my scarring because I waited so long. Which I understand but as a professional establishment I expected to be treated with some kindness. Every time I call to make an apportionment the woman on the other side is cold and condescending and seems to be annoyed. They have changed my provider several times in the short time that I have been there and don't keep track of my records because on multiple occasions I have had to explain the situation. Today when I went in for my monthly scheduled pregnancy test, the lady that helped me was very rude abs wasn't helpful with the situation I was in at all. I called again to reschedule my appointment and again, the lady on the other side was very unenthusiastic. My whole experience at this establishment has been very humiliating and dehumanizing. If anyone has any recommendations for a place with nicer more accommodating people please let me know. read more

I'm not sure what happened with the other patients, but I had a great experience. Dr Hoover was very nice and and is working to help find the cause of a very bizarre nail problem. It is unfortunate that some patients' expectations are simply unreasonable some times. People just don't realize that reimbursement (payments to the physician) from some insurance plans is absolutely awful, really not much better than the physician donating his or her services much of the time. Yet these are often the most demanding and entitled patients. I had an appointment today with Dr. Hoover for a number of dermatological issues. I found him professional, personable and punctual though the waiting room was quite busy. The front and back office staff was friendly and efficient. Dr. Hoover was engaging and asked me three times if I had any other questions to make sure I was satisfied with my care. I would not hesitate to refer any friend or family member to Dr. Hoover. I've been to many other medical offices in my 61 years and I would say that today's experience was one of the best. read more

Dr. Hoover's Office and Staff have always treated me with the utmost respect and dignity. I have been seeing Dr. Hoover for just a little over Three Years. I know at times Doctor offices have crazy days and are sometimes behind because of emergencies but not once have I ever sat over 10 minutes except once and when I saw the receptionist at check in I was told that it could be a longer wait time than usual no problem not the first time I've had to wait at a Doctors office, their in the business too heal people. Not once have I ever had a staff person representing Doctor Hoover treat me or hear someone being treated or talked too in a negative way. He's staff to me are all very professional and never rude in anyway. If anyone ask me I would Recommend Dr Hoover for all and any Dermatology needs without hesitation. I worked with Rachel Collins who diagnosed some skin cancer on my arm and we went through the surgery and follow-up with ease. This place is awful. Doctor Hoover is fine and so was the nurse I saw, but the receptionists were so horrible I've had to switch providers. They were completely incompetent and yelled at me with incorrect information. When I tried to tell them the correct information regarding some tests I had done, they told me I was wrong and needed to calm down. I don't recommend going, however great the doctors are. You can't get anything done with receptionists who lose your paperwork. read more
