I come here because I always experience amazing customer/shop service (Jeff the mechanic is the man!) and Jeremy is one of the best salesmen I've met in the industry. His knowledge and personability are rare traits these days, and it's hard to find folks that will go the extra mile who genuinely care about getting you the right tools. We bought a wood splitter this weekend. We are really grateful that the owner held it for us all week! We have been excited to pick this up and we are stoked to keep supporting a local shop that sells quality equipment. There were two gentlemen working when we made the purchase, Jeremy and some other guy named James who I had never met before. They were a bit busy and we weren't in a rush, so we waited for things to simmer down after Jeremy rang us up so we could get a run-through of the equipment and load it up. Really no big deal to wait - I worked retail for years I know it can be hectic - but Mr. Jimbo didnt seem at all interested in actually helping when he could have sped things along. He literally just acted like we were "in the way" or we were some sort inconvenience. I came back in to ask a question about a pin for the hitch mount (Genuine safety inquiry, so a legit concern.) Dude just stood behind the counter sneering at us and snapped at Jeremy to, "Make it quick...." Um, we just spent nearly 3k on a machine, can you at least act like you work here or give a hoot about the customers? He apparently gave us dirty looks the entire time we were there, my husband pointed this out as we were leaving, so I'm not the only one who took note of his insolence. I will remain a loyal customer, but hopefully I can consult with everyone else who works there. Maybe James would be better off working at the DMV...Insufferable people seem to fit in well there. read more

I've always enjoyed coming to this place. It's been my go-to spot for years, and I constantly recommend it to friends and family because the business itself is great. The reason for the 2-star review comes down to one employee whose attitude consistently makes visits frustrating. Customer service in this type of industry should be about helping people find what they need, even when they don't have an exact serial number or detailed specifications. Most situations can be solved with basic communication and common sense, but instead, every interaction with this employee feels unnecessarily difficult and unpleasant. Unfortunately, he seems to be the only person available every time I visit, which has completely changed the experience for me. I've also overheard other customers expressing similar frustrations while in the store, so this doesn't seem to be an isolated issue. I truly hope the owners take this feedback seriously because the business itself deserves much better representation. read more

Recently brought in two Echo leaf blowers which weren't starting, for service and/or repair. Paid $279 all-in, results after I collected them were very disappointing: one (ES250) started but bogged down at high speed; the other (PB250) started once and then didn't start again. The invoice said new spark plugs, air and fuel filters were fitted and the blowers tuned up. Here's what actually had to be done, on my own time and money: ES250: New air filter (it was dirty and had not been changed); bogging down at high speed required carb adjustment (needed to remove brass plug on carb to expose adjust screw). Starts and runs great now. PB250: Only started once after the service; hard to tell if the fuel filter was changed; fuel lines and grommet into tank had clearly not been disturbed. Air filter and spark plug looked clean, however there was no spark, so changed coil. (No evidence of carb adjustment having been done - adjustment screws still plugged.) Changed carb, fuel hoses and fuel filter (all aftermarket parts). Started right up and needed no carb adjustment to run smoothly. I prefer to support local businesses whenever possible but in this case Frog failed to do what I asked them to do. I'll call to talk about this and get a refund. read more

Super friendly service and lots of supplies. Took my Husqvarna weed trimmer in for service and to check on an issue. Friendly service and explained what they would do. Like most places you put in a deposit towards the work, I think it was $50. Got a call a few weeks later that they couldn't replicate the issue (might have been my user error) but completed the service. I'd put a spark plug in that wasn't the best one for the engine, so they replaced that, the air filter plus other regular maintenance service, and put in ethanol which lasts longer than regular gas for folks like me who only use it a few times a year. They returned the spark plug I had put it which I appreciated since it was new. Total was around $120, and deposit was put towards the total, so felt reasonable for the work they did. Overall very good experience and would recommend for power tool purchase or service. read more

They had exactly what I needed IN STOCK and fair price! I picked up four large felling wedges and a logger's tape. Someone "borrowed" my wedges and I think my wife "hid" my tape. Great store, lots of quality gear and equipment. I'll be back. read more

We had a landslide on my property and my generator and chainsaw got hit pretty hard also a high-end weed wacker we bought everything down they said the weed wacker was toast and they can repair the other two they charge so much money and did a horrible job didn't even clean out the mud from the equipment I was so let down unfortunately my wife went down and dealt with them I couldn't believe she took the stuff back I was just shocked just such a letdown I'll never go back there. read more

I took a Craftsman Weed Wacker in to have four broken plastic fuel lines replaced. I paid my $50 deposit. After about two weeks I received a call from them that it failed a compression check and the cylinder was scored. They asked me if I wanted them to recycle it as junk and offered to sell me a battery powered weed eater. My unit was working before the fuel lines broke and I didn't request a compression check. When I went to pick up the weed whacker I found they hadn't even replaced the broken fuel lines. So I paid $50 for them to put a compression gauge into the spark plug hole and maybe put a camera into the cylinder. I have to wonder if their whole motivation was to sell me a new weed eater... I won't be going back. read more

Eric was apologetic and genuinely concerned about the issue. In addition he went as far as to waive any fee for fixing the power washer. Went in to check out the new Toro 54" Timecutter riding mower. Looked pretty great albeit pricey at $5199 (with free delivery that week). Went to look up more specs on the Toro site and it was for sale at $4500 with free delivery. Toro said that it would be delivered to the dealer of choice (Frog) and that Frog would deliver it. So I called Frog to tell them this and they said no problem - they would deliver it and they would be glad to service it. I ordered from Toro. Two days later Toro cancelled the order because Frog said they wouldn't deliver it. I called Frog and they said it wasn't worth their time or effort - they only would get a small commission and $50 delivery fee. From my perspective this was pretty nasty and unprofessional behavior. Decided not to buy a Toro because of this. I wouldn't trust Frog to service it given their "not worth my time" attitude. So if the product is discontinued for sale, because it won't meet California 2024/25 air quality standards I assume they will say "not worth my time to service". Really disappointed in their approach to customers. read more

I have a lot of experience with other small equipment shops. This place is like no other. There friendly, fair priced and a family run operation. I will send everyone I know there. So nice to go into a business and they care about there customers. You can see in there faces they are excited about there business. These guys know their stuff. They have been "in the trenches" so to speak and know what holds up to the rigors of commercial landscape maintenance and tree care. They carry a broad display of jobsite-tough equipment - hand tools, mowers, blowers, accessories, a saw that's longer than my truck bed, the list goes on. I have a landscape maintenance business and most of my colleagues agree - No matter what equipment you buy, it will need to be worked on someday. This is where Frog earned my loyalty. OEM parts for even the most obscure funky machines I own. Fastest turnaround times for "down" equipment I've ever experienced. The customer service is top notch. Always helpful, family owned feel, and never pretentious. Owner Nick and his crew treat homeowners and hobby gardeners with the same respect as the commercial guys and regulars. I can't say that about many other establishments. Don't sleep on this place for GENERATORS either... I bought a neat little suitcase sized Bearcat inverter here that does double duty on remote jobsites and " rolling blackout duties." A garden equipment shop inadvertently helped me make delicious hot pockets, power my WiFi, and ace my online college midterm during the midst of a wildfire black-out. Awesome. read more

Went to Frogs this afternoon, needed a primer bulb for an older Echo-SRM3400. Great customer service, knowledgeable and had what I needed. While I was there I checked out their tune up kits for my other trimmers and found that not only did they have them, they were priced way better then your bigger box store HD etc. so I snatched a kit up too. I have an organic Pinot Noir vineyard in Sebastopol. Being organic it needs to be sprayed every 7-10 days. My Kohler engine to my sprayer broke the Friday before Memorial day. I tried to fix it on Saturday but to no avail. I found out they were an expert Kohler repair shop. I called them on Sunday and left a message. To my surprise they called Memorial day. They were catching up on work but not open...but invited me down to drop it off. They normally have a lead time of 2 weeks but considering my situation they had it fixed Friday morning! They are the nicest people, easy to work with and stand behind their work. I'm planning on dropping off my other tools for yearly maintenance as soon as my nets go up!!!
