At first we didn't know where we were headed because you go through a residential area to get to the Park. But once you reach the end of the street and go through the texas star gate then you'll see the big red barn! We drove up to Fritz Park to find plenty of parking spaces. There was a tent in the front selling food items before you got to the entrance. Once you cross the bridge and get your tickets, you are welcomed to the farm life! We got to ride Rosie the pony, plant magic pumpkin seeds and go through a maze, feed a piggie and the goats, haunted barn and say hello to the lemur! There were game stations for littles to play and a bakery in the corner. If you're a nursing mother, they have a special Momma Lounge to take care of baby, so thoughtful! The 1st Annual Pumpkin Patch was a success. Lots of families enjoying photos opportunities, tasty treats from the Boo Bakery, a haze maze with a surprise at the end, a variety of activities that includes spooky barn, gift shop, pony rides, a Creepy Dino Dig, 2 petting/feeding areas that included chickens, goats, alpaca, cows, and a Ring Tailed Lemor that loves to show off. No other word comes to mind than adorable! Brought my kiddos to the pumpkin patch event today. This is a must see for kids 5 and under. My 11 year old was not quite as enthusiastic about it but my 4 year old had a blast. The petting/ feeding zoo was awesome. I really wanted to take home their lemur. It was very interactive. They have rabbits, chickens, goats, even a giant turtle!! I learned today that not all turtles are slow. Hahaha. They had my little one "grow" a pumpkin and it made his eyes glow. The most amazing part?? As a breast feeding mother of a 3 month old, they had a lactation room! This is a must see and support little place! read more

This is a really cute little activity for kids under 7ish. I took my god daughters who are 10 and 11 and they were a bit aged out of most the activities but we still had an excellent time. Their fall theme was really cute, and we really enjoyed interacting with the animals. It's only 5$ per person and a couple of the activities are pay to play but the max total cost per person was only 10$. So overall a very affordable and cute experience. I would definitely recommend for a family outing especially if you have small littles. read more

This place was amazing. I brought my whole family here and we had the best time. They have a petting zoo, a haunted barn, a magic straw maze and lots of refreshments throughout the park. This place is fun for all ages. The best thing about this place is the fact that all pumpkins are $10 regardless of the size, and part of the proceeds go to Irving Animal Services. The employees who work here are super friendly and welcoming. If you come here stop by the Boo Bakery and get you some goodies. We got some cookies and the most magical witches brew. Great compact pumpkin patch packed with several activities to keep your little kids busy! When you enter, you'll see a pumpkin patch with a friendly parrot on the right. This compact place is well decorated & planned! They have farm animals you can feed, a hay maze with "magical" pumpkin garden (they swap your glittery seed with a small pumpkin to take home), mulch hills with quite a bit of toy trucks, cute Boo bakery with Halloween themed sweets, activity area (today was making bird feeders with pine cones), petting zoo, a cute little "haunted" house (very kid friendly), sand boxes, photo props, pony ride (70lbs and under), a cute lemur (yeah, a live one), a cute piggy (a live one, too), funny little displays, hay bowling alleys, hop scotch area, & bean bag toss. I think I got them all listed here! They alhave a photographer that can take photos in designated area for just $5. The "Boo" treats cost $1.50-$4. My kids are 11 & 12, & we spent almost 1 hour here! The bird-feeder making was cool, our kids enjoyed it. We would definitely enjoy this place even more if our kids were younger. read more

One of the oldest courses in Dfw, fritz is both challenging and enjoyable for players of all skill level. The front 9 consists of easier layouts, while the back 9 gets more technical and long. However, holes 10-14 are on the opposite end of the park, so it's easy to play 1-9 and then 15-18 for those wanting a quicker round. Two warm up/putting baskets right by the parking lot also. Make sure to enter "fritz disc golf park" on your gps to get to the specific lot for the course off of Britan st. Otherwise you'll be directed by the playground and basketball courts, which is between hole 10 and 14. Happy throwing! Watch out for the water on hole 6! read more

This review is for the disc golf course, mostly. Since some of the older reviews were written, this course has been expanded to a full 18 holes. There's a few holes on the back side that are longer (450+ feet), but nothing overly technical and makes for a challenging yet fun round of golf. Now, holes six and eight have a line that can go over the creek there in the front/middle part of the course. Bring your water discs!! (I've lost at least a handful over the past year. ) Also, the easiest way I can think of to find the course is the below. Depending on where you're coming from, you'll always enter from Shady Grove (if you want to park close to hole one). Coming from west (GP/Arlington/etc): - Stay on Shady Grove and pass Senter Rd. (7-Eleven on right) - Take right on Britain (which is also a dead end) Coming from east (Dallas/etc): - Stay on Shady Grove and pass Nursery - You will pass a few side streets - Keep an eye out for Britain on your left (specifically the dead end yellow part of the sign) - If you come up on 7-Eleven/Senter, bust a U-ie in that parking lot like you're headed back towards Dallas, and take your first right on Britain Pros: - Beautiful park with plenty of green grass, big trees, and friendly squirrels. - Full 18 hole disc golf course that's not overly technical or too geographically difficult to maneuver - Awesome signs that give you a good idea of how to get to the next hole Cons: - Holes six and eight have stolen a handful of my discs - No, seriously, I'm not getting in that water. Someone get me a golden retriever for my birthday! - Occasionally, you may get a whiff of that good ol' South Irving smell. PETTING ZOO REVIEW: Wow, how is this place free? It is excellent! Fritz Petting zoo is wonderful, they have chickens, two peacocks, two donkeys, a mini horse,2 sheep, rabbits and even goats you can go in and pet. This place has a lovely setup and bathrooms inside the petting zoo area! The staff is so wonderful and excellent with kids. You can find the staff by the mini horse and in the goat gate where you can pet the animals. The staff keep very good care of the animals, they keep the entire place clean, and they keep the environment as a whole safe. I would love for the city to set up a donation place where we could either donate there or if that's to risky maybe some type of sign that we can follow a link and donate there with paypal or a credit card. What a great volunteer-ran petting zoo. This is Free to the public. Almost all areas of animals is in the shade so you can survive the summertime. Lots of parking. Its a good park and been here a few times to play disc golf. The first time i came i could not find the 9th hole even with the signs saying where to go, and ended up leaving because of it. The next time i came i stumbled upon it but i had to cross the river to get to it. I then found out where the signs were telling me to go. The 10th hole was also kind of a weird cut through. 13 was alsooo...Well let me just say i found it hard to maneuver through this course haha, but i think i got it down. The next time i come i will play the whole course in one go. There is also a small place where there are animals to watch, i wonder if you can actually go in it because its never open when i come. read more

Fritz is cool. Not hidden and hard to find as it was described. Not in my opinion anyway. It is functional and works well for our kickball games. Sure it's tucked off but I like the idea of it being tucked off. Just a park for team sports. It works! read more

Ahhh, Fritz Park was the place to go after school to see fights back in 2000's lol... Now I take my 2 yr old daughter there to the petting farm that is open only during the summer. It's like a little zoo. She loves it. And i do too because it is FREE! They also have a basketball and baseball area, playground, and a little pond. read more
