I would have to give Fritz Kennel a solid 4 stars. I haven't had my girl housed overnight, but I can say there is a lot of land or area for all types and sizes of dogs to run and play. The spaces are broken up into several areas for larger to smaller dogs. During your dogs stay of course they get interaction with the various dogs and the trainers continuously ensure good play behavior by all. If there are certain behavior you would like them to help your dog out, i.e., with kids they will do what they can to accommodate. The owner and staff are all very personable and provide feedback and genuinely happy to have the time to take care of your dog. After a last minute cancellation with my sister-in-law due to the fact of my other (incredibly narcissistic) sister-in-law & hubby needed a place to stay & they flat out told nice/kind/pushover s-i-l that the pups could not be there during their stay because of various lies, we were frantic trying to find boarding options for the NYE weekend. We have used Fritz in the past & we usually use this kennel as a back-up to our regular place but I'm thinking of making this place our go-to for future boarding. H called & they asked for the boys names & before you can say "Bob's your Uncle" we had secured lodging for the boys for that weekend. The staff is phenomenal & you can tell they lurve their job & the pups. They have a private room for our boys but also let them out to play with the rest of the pups during their stay without nickel & diming us to death with "playdates". So I know our boys are being socialized & have time to play. Huge bonus: they give our boys a bath before we pick up because they play hard. The boys always need a couple of days to sleep off all the activity of boarding but seem happy & healthy. This place is a win-win! The staff are proactive with the pups & do not mind when a nervous momma calls to see how her babies are doing. Drop off & pick up is quick, a well oiled machine!!! Was not informed they had added a $10 "daily play charge" (which amounts to $45 a day if you want your dog to see sunlight) after coming there for nearly a year. When I got charged an extra $80 after getting back from my vacation, I found the charges to be out of line, as I was not informed there would not be additional costs beyond the $35/day. I emailed management and was ultimately refused future service because I spoke up about the charges (he got so offended that I describe the charges as "insane" that I was told never to come back LOL). So just be warned they will not tell you up front of all the charges, and if you have a problem, they'll make you feel like the crazy one. We just picked up our 2 year old pup from the Fritz Carlton for the 5th time and she seems very well cared for each time. They know her name and seem genuinely happy to see her when we walk through the door. At first we took our dog to Petsmart Pet Hotel and frankly it was just a bit too pricey, so when we found the Fritz Carlton we were happy with the price and quality of the accommodations. For considerably less, a dog gets a dog run -- an inside/outside kennel. Yes, the kennel is behind a residence and floors are not newly finished but everything is very clean and well maintained. Since we've started taking her there, they have been improving their service. They have extended hours for pick-up on Sundays, they can administer vaccinations (nice when your dog's shots have just expired), they do grooming (and a very good job) and offer play time as well as treats for your pet. The service has always been friendly and professional. read more

On top of it, I get other Yelpers messaging me with the EXACT same experience that I had. Are they ALL working for Groupon now and making things up? Plus I see you flagrantly violate terms of Yelp considering your work for both Fritz Kennel (as their advertiser) and you are a GetGrouby employee. Your nonsense about gift certificates doesn't hold because they simply REFUSED TO take our first two vouchers. We were new customers when we took our two dogs. It was after about half an hour's haggling that they took it after they demanded we pay extra to "compensate" them. Tax is 8.25%, so unless their regular grooming is $200-300 for small short haired dogs of 10 pounds, how does paying an extra of $15-20 per dog make sense? And why should we not get a refund for the other certificates? How do you expect us to give gifts when we KNOW what kind of an abysmal service they are going to get? I've reported you to Yelp for TOS violation that clearly state employees of a business cannot write reviews. Your other fake account has been reported as well. Nobody deserves this kind of dismal and appalling customer service and your company doesn't deserve to be in business. If I were the owner, I'd fire you for your gross ineptitude and lack of basic customer service skills. You could've retained a customer and earned referrals. Now all you are going to get is bad publicity out of this. It has been written by Get Grouby employee Lisa Milstein. As stated in my previous review, all this started when the groomer at Fritz refused to accept Get Grouby vouchers for a grooming package. After about half hours back and forth, she finally took them but claimed we'd have to pay extra to "make up" for the difference between the coupon value and the grooming price they charge. O_o So we decided to get a refund from Get Grouby. After calling and emailing Get Grouby several times and dealing with 3 different people, I found out that Fritz Kennel is owned by a friend of Lisa Milstein. The first time I called/emailed GetGrouby.com, I was told they'd "investigate" and get back to me. This was November end of 2010. No one ever called back. Then I emailed a few times in February, and then finally this month I called on a Monday. I spoke to someone named James Pruett (who also seems to run the website) and he said that he was busy till Friday, but he would take care of it that day. He also asked me to send an email detailing everything, which I did. Come Friday, nothing. I wait till Monday and then called this Tuesday. James Pruett answered and passed on the phone to Lisa M who at first tried to make an excuse about coupons being expired. Umm, except they are valid for 30 more days. Then she gave me several other excuses and then finally asked to email her the details. I emailed her immediately to which she replied that her "investigation" will be done by Wednesday or Thursday. Well, its Friday. Nothing. Funny she promptly came here the day I spoke to her and writes a fake glowing review of Fritz Kennel which is a clear violation of Yelp TOS. You cannot review a business you are associated with! What I don't understand is that I and my husband bought a total of 7 of these coupons (one per type of dog--long hair/short hair/above or below 50 lbs yadda, yadda), out of which we attempted to use 2 (and weren't able to, till we paid $15-20 extra). So at the very least, these scamsters should have had the decency to refund us for the other 5 unused coupons. That Get Grouby would sink so low to keep $135 bucks of mine, instead of fixing an issue with a repeat customer is just outright pathetic. At this rate, it really makes me wonder how either one of these businesses even survive. I also noticed that on BBB website, the rating is F for both the places. Shocker! Not. Basically, don't trust Get Grouby with your money. I think they are on their way out of business anyway. Thankfully my credit card bank assured me that my chargeback will be taken care of. read more

I was lucky enough to find the Fritz Kennel after my other daycare spot closed down suddenly in Jan 2014. Little did a I realize that they were actually more convenient than my other place! Since then, they have been nothing but wonderful and accommodating. They always take good care of my mutt (even putting up with her newly acquired barking and herding tendencies)! My dog is thoroughly tired after a playing at their facility! They also do a great job boarding, offering to bathe her towards the end (for an addt'l fee) so she comes home clean. Price are reasonable for both daycare and boarding too! My dog looks forward to going here everyday and I'm so glad to have found a place that I can trust. We love the Fritz Kennel!! Pat and his amazing staff (Gracie, Mario, Josh & Jalen) treat our dog Charley like family. He hasn't been to a sleep over kennel since Feb of 2020 and he was very nervous & reluctant to stay. They worked with him until he felt comfortable interacting with the other dogs. I've been dropping off my 2 year old pitbull boxer mix here for 6+ months for their doggie daycare and he absolutely loves it. I take him once every 2 weeks and every time I pick him up he has the biggest smile on his face and is knackered for daysss! They put your pup through a temperament test before accepting/ rejecting your dog which I very much appreciate bc some places like Petsmart will automatically reject your pooch if he/ she is mixed with any pitbull. The cost for $22/day is also a decent price, but if it were slightly cheaper I may go more often. However, I'm not complaining. We got a new rescue pup Sammy and he loves it at Fritz's. He is a nervous dog and licks the air constantly and walks in circles alot. I love Fritz. The personnel really love the dogs and you can tell. Every staff member greets my dog in the morning when I drop off. They know the dogs by name. We boarded for over 2 weeks one time and they were so good at posting pictures on Facebook so you can see your puppy. When my water broke with my son, we were able to get our dog in for boarding due to the emergency. Fritz was so accommodating and understanding. I love the Fritz family. This is the best day care and kennel I have found in Houston! I have been taking my dogs there for at least 3 years. There are great people who run the kennel, fabulous customer service and a love of dogs that truly shows! The staff are great at caring for the dogs, playing with them and keeping you updated (if you'd like) on social media so you know how your little ones are doing :) TRULY above others in terms of staff, caring and value. I've been taking my 3 year old, adopted Brittany, Brody, here for a few months now. Taken him to both dog day care and have boarded him with the "unlimited" play time for an extra $10/day. These people are fantastic-- Brittanys are usually very sweet, social dogs, but Brody is an interesting case. He was a stray and has some pretty serious Dog aggression/ social issues. He wont go after a dog, but when a dog comes up to him (which is how dogs interact) he snaps and sometimes will even bite. Needless to say, he basically has no use for other dogs. But he is very active and loves to play outside! They did the temperament test and he passed. And now every time I take him they tell me how good he did. You can tell the staff here really cares about the pups and take the time to get to know them. When he comes home he's pooped as can be. They are also pretty affordable compared to the other places right down the street! I will keep taking Brody here as long as they will have him! Keep up the good work. read more

My dog has some aggression towards other dogs. She also never gets locked up. I was so scared she would be barking the whole time and trying to dig out.
