Another Saint Louis gem! This store really brings the magic of trains to life. As a kid I had a Thomas the train set, with the same wooden tracks and trains sold in this store. It was a favorite toy of mine. This store has a large table in the center that is dream come true version of those toys, as well as smaller sets for the littler guys & gals. One year old is able to play at the smaller tables but the 2-5 year olds were having the most fun. There was nice seating for the parents, and the staff handled all of this well. I didn't know upon arriving there just how many families were already there having fun, but just by the parking lot I knew this was going to be good. Which there is a good amount of parking out back fyi. The store has an amazing selection for its size, it's not too cozy but not too large either. The pos system was up to date too, very well ran. The owners or curators (not sure what the situation is here) deserve a lot of respect and credit for their effort. We love this store! The owners really love what they do and are excellent at answering questions. They have a wide selection of items to purchase for any price range. We love coming here with our kiddos to play with their train set and also had my son's birthday party in the upstairs area. My family and I visited the Frisco Train Store on Saturday, 02/21/2026. Our daughter loved the store and we purchased $150 worth of items. One of those items was a $90 Thomas the Train set. When we got home, the Thomas train engine was broken when we opened the box. A black piece of plastic was broken off (which helps hold the batteries in place) and there was a rubber o-ring loose inside the smokestack (helps the product with the steam function). I attempted to return/exchange the item to the Frisco Train store on 02/25/26. A female employee asked, "Did you not read the pamphlet inside the box?". She proceeded to show me an instruction manual where it says to not return the item to the store, but to contact Lionel. So I contacted Lionel on 02/25/26. On 02/26/26, Lionel responded by saying to return the item to the store. So at this point, I have a $90 defective train set that Frisco Train Store will not return/exchange. Their policy is to have the manufacturer cover any issues with the products they sell. Keep in mind, even if Lionel does eventually repair this product they said it would take up to 6-8 weeks. So be careful purchasing any items from this store. If something goes wrong, they'll tell you it's not their problem. Then if Lionel does fix the issue, it could take up to 6-8 weeks. read more

Situated in the former Frisco train station, this train themed toy store is as much indoor playground. It's perfect for kids (or grandkids) on rainy days because several wooden railways and kitchen set-ups offer interactive play. A 10-foot, multi-level, Brio style wooden railway is the centerpiece just inside the door. Smaller wooden railways and a couple of kitchenettes are nearby for play. There are also plenty of puzzles, rail sets, books, and games for purchase. If you need a replacement Brio piece for your train set, individual pieces are for sale here. However, don't look for an electric model railroad. There's not space for that, though there is a ceiling train that sometimes runs. This is an awesome spot for a rainy or snowy day activity for kids ages 2-5. There's a giant train table in the middle of the store, 4 smaller train tables, and 2 play kitchens. There's lots of seating for adults watching their kiddos. Plus 2 bathrooms! I've been here once with my 4 year old for a birthday party, which happens on the second floor. I wish the second floor was open for play outside of birthday parties, but it was pretty nice regardless. I've only bought a few small things here and there, but they have a big selection of trains (of course) as well as some books and puzzles. Definitely a cool spot to check out if you have toddler age kids and/or people in your life who like trains! read more

After hearing about FTS from some friends, we had to check it out. As we currently have two train enthusiasts in our midst, this was a home run! Entering, you're greeted by a HUGE train set with all sorts of trains to play with. Naturally, our three year old gravitated towards the 3 engines another boy was playing with rather than the 50+ currently not in use. After a discussion about the importance of appropriate social conduct and the need for personal space, we proceeded to play for the next few hours on one of the four huge train tables. The walls are covered with just about any popular train toy your little, or you kiddo's little, heart may desire and is great place to stock up on birthday and Christmas gifts if the little ones are into this sort of things. Plenty of engines, tracks, cars as well as tons of books, puzzles and games made it a great spot to see what's available currently and get ideas of later in the year. Great place to come and spend a few hours on a rainy or nice day. Very nice folks running the place as well. Don't feel like standing? They've even got a bunch of seating for the adults while the little squirts run off some energy! A great place to check out for any and all train enthusiasts! read more

The Frisco Train Store is a fantastic place to bring your little ones - really perfect for kids about 2-4 years of age. They're open most days until 5:00pm, and you can go and play for free on their numerous train tables, watch some Thomas and other train shows, read books from their basket, and purchase nearly any kids' train toys that you can think of. (They have mostly Chuggington, Thomas, Melissa & Doug, and the mainstream train toys of today; no antiques) They appreciate donations, and most people will give at least $1, or make a purchase of a coffee or something small at minimum. Friday nights once a month, they're open late, but it gets to be a clustered zoo in there since the whole store isn't too huge. Seems like it would be a great place to host a birthday party, too! We really like this place and will certainly continue to visit. read more

Lots to play with, and a huge selection of trains and accessories for sale. This is the PERFECT rainy day outing for my little boy. They have multiple train tables and lots of trains for sharing. The four story large table is quite impressive. Playing doesn't cost a thing, they just ask for donations. It gets a little crowded in there on a Saturday morning, but it's bearable. They of course have every Thomas train available to buy but they also have tons of Melissa and Doug items for purchase. Even better than that though, there is a LARGE, custom built wooden train layout that your kids can play with for no cost so that they can try before you buy. the owners are super nice and always have a smile to share with you. This store is awesome for train lovers! Located right next to the tracks (of course), it's an older, free standing house. Parking is a little slim but there is some street parking on a dead end. This is a store that sells tons of train merchandise, as well as other toys like puzzles and play food. But, it's also a fun place that encourages families to come and bring kids to play. There is a huge train set and also several small train tables as well as a play kitchen area for kids. And of course, tons of trains and accessories on the train table. It's free to play and they take donations or you can support them by buying refreshments or merchandise. Very friendly workers. It gets crowded with lots of kids and parents around. My toddler LOVED it! The second floor is all an area for birthday parties. I didn't get to see it, but they have another play area and trains up there as well as a party room. You can only go if you're at a party. I am going to hold my son's next birthday here for sure, as it's reasonably priced and will provide lots of fun. read more

We just moved to the area and after meeting someone who quickly recognized my son's love of trains she recommended that we pay a visit to the Frisco Train Store. We spent two full hours at the store where both my son (4) and daughter (14 months) enjoyed playing at the train tables, especially the large multilevel one in the middle of the store. The place opened at 10 and quickly filled with children and parents. By noon it was starting to quiet down, but a few more families were coming in as we were leaving. The store has a charming atmosphere and provided great fun for young train enthusiasts. For parents there are plenty of places to sit, free Wi-Fi and snacks and coffee to purchase. There is a sign upon entering with a polite request for a donation, which I did feel was appropriate as the place offers a wonderful indoor play space on a hot or rainy day. read more

UNACCOMMODATING AND UNFRIENDLY TO THE DISABLED: While researching a location for my nephew's birthday party, I called to inquire if the party rooms were accessible to the disabled. The woman answering the phone told me that not only was the entire second floor not accessible, all of the party rooms were on that floor. She notified me, "We looked into making it accessible, but the $100,000 it would cost would put us out of business." I explained that by not having an accessible second floor, and by not having a party room on the first floor, they were excluding both disabled children and disabled adults from attending parties there. Her response was, "They can attend if they can walk up the stairs." She was shockingly unapologetic and uncompassionate through the entire conversation. She further showed her lack of sympathy for the disabled by stating, "We don't even own the building," as if that was an excuse for not being accommodating. I understand being "Grandfathered in" and not being legally required to make the facility ADA accessible. But, this is the 21st century. Knowledge of and respect for the disabled has come a long way. It would not cost $100,000 to put a party room on the first floor. Make your second floor accessible. Do something. There are a lot of children in wheelchairs that are train enthusiasts. I'm sure they'd like the same opportunities as other children to have a birthday party at your facility. This seems like a fantastic business, and my intent here is not for their business to suffer. My intent is for the owners and employees to educate themselves and make necessary changes to allow the same opportunities to all train enthusiasts ... regardless of whether or not they can "Walk up the stairs." read more
