It was my first time at this toy store. We walked by after our lunch, and of course my little one wanted to come inside. This place is amazing. They have a good variety of brands from Melissa&Doug, Brio, Lego, Schleich, and even my favorite toy car PlayForever!!! You definitely will be able to find cool things for almost anyone. Not only my little one had a fun time picking up his animal toys, but also I found myself had a great time looking at beautiful Playforever cars on the shelf. Price is fair imo. Staffs were friendly and helpful. They have gift wrapping service which is really convenient when you're in a time crunch. I wasn't sure whether if it's a complimentary service. I was busy looking at toys and forgot to take photos inside the shop, but highly recommended to check it out when you need to grab birthday gifts. read more

Such a neat variety and selection. From the cutesy Japanese influenced items to the small boardgame stash... I was really impressed by the quality and the variety of what this store carried. There are so many neat things packed in this store! I wish I wasn't done with my Christmas shopping! It has been many many years since a game and toy store made me smile and want to spend a lot of money. It is a warm inviting store that is not dusty nor awkward, which is normally the vibe I get from small toy stores. Parking: This store is located on one of the busiest streets in Clayton and although there is a very small lot in the back, you will most likely be parking in the street. TLDR: Worth checking out. You will most likely find something. Look at all the rows. Parking is near impossible. read more

Inside out: this place is incredibly cute inside and out. Inside is like a Wonderland of imagination and every toy you didn't know you absolutely needed for any human. Service: The people that run this place are absolute gold I can't recommend them highly enough. They spend a lot of time selecting their products and it shows, they know all about them and they are happy to teach you. Stuff: absolutely everything looks awesome, it's a bit on the higher price range for me as a peasant but even I could find things for my friends and loved ones and myself that were within reach. The huge difference here from ordering online is that you can see and experience the product, I was looking at buying one of these puzzle cubes for a long time but could never touch one until I went into the store. Once I played with it I knew I had to buy it so I had a fidget toy for the plane back! Overall I would say if you're in town and you need something for yourself or anyone that keeps you amused and makes you happy- this place is the place to go. I absolutely hope it's here for years to come so I can visit every time I go to St. Louis. read more

Best toy store in the STL area. Small store, but packed to the gills with more quality items than a store with a bigger footprint. You can tell these toys are curated with care, and my kid basically wants everything there. The service is also great; not only will they make good suggestions, their gift wraps and Easter baskets are amazing. read more

I was walking by Happy Up where I saw sign out front, "We make gift baskets", which was exactly what I wanted to bring to a baby shower. The store owner, Shawnta' Ray, was extremely friendly and helpful with ideas for a book basket and creatively "built" one exceeding all my expectations. I highly recommend this lovely store in the heart of Clayton and will now be a loyal customer. read more

Wow! If you want a fun toy store that has something for everyone on your list, this is it! So many interesting, unique and educational toys, but all the old standards, as well. Parking can be a bit of a pain, as it is in Clayton, but don't let that stop you. read more

Happy Up always brightens my day. This place is like a time machine, once you walk through those doors you're 10 again! Thought the place may be small, the toys are well organized and laid out in sections. There are lots of toys you won't find at the big-box stores, and the prices are very reasonable. The owner, Shawnta is super helpful. You can tell she loves her job and is passionate about it. If you don't know where to turn and are looking for a gift, feel free to ask one of the employees. They have always pointed me in the right direction and given me good suggestions. A lot of the times, there's a display model of the toy you can try out and if there isn't the employees will open up one of the toys that let you try it out. Oh and they offer free gift wrapping too! This is seriously one of my favorite places in St. Louis. Please consider purchasing your kids' gifts from Happy Up and supporting local. You won't be disappointed! read more

Happy Up - Toy Stores Near Me - St. Louis, Missouri

My favorite toy store and I often buy presents for all ages there. Everybody needs a crown in this day and age! And maybe a sword. I also buy fidets for teens and little princess gifts for 17th birthdays, which students of all genders find hilarious. I find the baby gifts to be thoughtful and of high quality, and you can never go wrong with a family game. As mentioned by many others, the staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. At the holidays, it is not unusual to see a reindeer outside! Truly a magical toy store. read more

I love this place! My spouse and I first stumbled upon it while waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant and have come back quite a few times in search of unique gifts. The staff are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the toys, games, and other random fun stuff. The owner is especially helpful in making recommendations, too. Most of the items are priced very competitively as compared to amazon or target, so I prefer to shop here, since it supports a local business and there isn't much/any price difference. Anything you can think of, they have here: science projects, art projects, toys for babies, legos, stuffed animals, board games and card games, outdoor toys, and books! And I'm sure there's more that I'm missing. I always have fun in here picking out gifts for the little people in our lives. Bonus: they have giant rolls of super fun gift wrap and they'll wrap your gift for free (you get to pick the wrapping paper)! read more

Such a cute store with tons of unique toys and gifts. The people who work there are very friendly and helpful as well!

When I was young, I always imagined spending the day in a small neighborhood toy store that I only ever saw in movies/TV or read about in a book. You know, the kind of store where the owner was kindly and all the coolest toys were out, just waiting to be played with. It has been so long since I imagined such a place that I completely forgot about my desire to experience it. The last minute search for a child's birthday gift led me to Happy Up and all at once the toy store I always imagined when I was a small boy was all around me. Needless to say, I got right into the spirit of things, playing around with all the different toys and marveling at the vast selection. The store owner and her employee were both super helpful and friendly despite the store being packed. The merchandise seemed to be priced fairly and there was quite a bit to choose from. My experience was so favorable that I can't imagine going anywhere else for my toy shopping needs. There are few things I enjoy more than supporting a small business, especially a female owned small business, and that is exactly what Happy Up is. Why go anywhere else? read more

I found this place online and decided to come in. The woman at the counter really knows children's toys really well for their age category. Such a wealth of knowledge I knew her expertise would help me find the perfect gift. Yes we can all do online shopping but the personal feel that she gives this adorable toy store is priceless. I found the perfect gift and will be back for sure. read more

I absolutely LOVE this place!!!!! After finding this gem of a toy store I will be buying my child's toys from here for now on. I just called Happy Up, Inc toy store, asking about toy leaf blowers. The guy on the other side of the phone was as enthusiastic as the 2 year old I am buying it for. Sadly, they didn't have any, but what a great idea. Laughing, I explained that we have one, HOWEVER, he REALLY wants a backpack blower. We bought a Ghostbusters toy proton pack, but it doesn't make sound, so to him, it doesn't work. We chuckled. Hung up. Moved on. Not 2 minutes later, my phone rings, and I recognize the number as Happy Up, Inc. on the other side is a female employee calling to say she actually MADE her son a backpack blower. She gave me the items she used. (Sorry my cellphone dropped the call!) They were both so friendly and went above and beyond. My husband and both were astonished by the call back to help us out, particularly since it wasn't going to make a sale for them. I always try to shop on small business Saturday. I will definitely make a stop there. I am going to have to go well before that, as well. read more

This small and local toy store is the best! I would much rather shop for toys here any day over a big chain store. It's not just about buying toys it's about the experience. Every time I've been in they've helped me pick out what would be best for the baby or child I was buying for based on their age and interests. They have so much to choose from and they'll even gift wrap it for you if you'd like! Support the amazing small businesses in St. Louis and do your toy shopping here! read more

Went here with my wife today to check out some toys for an infant. The best part of the store was the service that we received. They were super friendly and knowledgeable. We were shown the toys and how they worked. If they were not out of the box for a demo they were taken out for us. The selection is amazing and I can wait to go back to buy more! I loved this store. It has great things for kids & adults. One of the best parts is they have the toys available to try out! I spent an 1 1/2 in the store & could have spent another hour! The owner has such a great time. It's contagious! read more

Stopped in briefly because I was attending a local event with admission requiring a new unwrapped toy for local kids. I strive to shop local and this business is close to me. The variety of toys was astounding as well as the fact that most of the toys were unisex and educational. The price is higher than what you might find, for example, at a big box store, but here, you're paying for: supporting a local business and local families in addition to paying for quality. Many of their toys, the owner told me, are imported from Japan and Europe. Customer service was great. There's no junk in here... and certainly something for everyone (yes, even the adults!) read more

I've visited this toy store three times, and every time the staffs are very friendly and helpful! I always left with a happy and light vibe!
