I left this salon unhappy with purple splotches, uneven and horrible demarcation lines. I was told the purple would eventually fade. Really?! BEWARE! DONT GO HERE! The tall slim blonde that did my hair destroyed my hair! I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance because I was told that was they're first opening. It was on a Saturday. So I called the day of my appointment to ask Victoria a couple of questions. She told me I wasn't on the book for an appointment that day. I asked her did she not remember our conversation the week before and that she'd said this was they're first appointment. She said "no". At this point I should have just went somewhere else, but I had already waited for 2 weeks and I knew I wouldn't be able to get in anywhere else without waiting another week or 2. So I tried to remind her by saying things we'd said during the conversation the day I'd made the appointment. She said to come on in around 10am. Long story short. I was platinum blonde and wanted to go darker for fall season and the bleaching had taken a toll on my hair. The tall slim blonde that did my hair started to put bleach on my hair and I asked her why she was putting bleach on my hair when I wanted to go dark. She said I had uneven blonde in places and she needed to in order to even out my color. I thought it was a bit odd but she was the professional not me. After she applied color we went to the sink to shampoo and all the areas she had applied the bleach to literally broke off and my hair was in the foils in the sink. I didnt realize this until I got home. I had half the hair I had when I left to go to the salon. I dont remember the girls name unfortunately but she is a tall slim blonde. I have never had a salon nightmare I've read about people's salon mishaps though. I hope I can keep another person from not going through what I went through with this girl. I chose this salon based on photos that I had seen of other clients and the stylists themselves as well as what was promised to be delivered. To begin with, on Fringe Salon's website it specifically states, "Fringe salon specializes in the latest trends in hair styles...." {tires squealing} When the first question out of the stylist is "Do you want a bob (1920s) or a shag (1970s)?" I should have left then. It also didn't help that the stylist, Victoria, looked nothing like the photo she has on the website. (Another red flag that I ignored). My experience was horrible and I vehemently do not recommend this salon. I experienced unprofessionalism & antiquated techniques. That old saying, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig" applies here. You can make an inviting website, but when the stylists can't deliver the goal of the salon you have nothing. We had a destination wedding and I was somewhat nervous getting my hair done without a trial. I booked hair and make up for myself, my mother and 3 bridesmaids. I came to Pigeon Forge for my destination wedding. Fringe was recommended by our wedding service. They did hair and makeup for myself and my 4 bridesmaids. Price was reasonable and all the women we worked with on the big day were great. Tori did my hair and makeup. She also did the hair trial the day before. She was able to recreate my inspiration pic. Once we agreed on the wedding day look, she did it up a little different so I'd be stylish for rehearsal dinner without giving away any surprises about my wedding day hair! The morning of the wedding, they had a staffing issue family emergency. Tori called me early to keep me informed and had already booked another woman to assist us so things went pretty seamless from our perspective. Tori also proved to be great at thinking on her feet. My eyelash glue had dried up and we needed an emergency alternative. We happened to also have some boob glue on sight (to keep the sisters in place). Tori made sure I was cool with the alternative and I was all in. The glue helped keep my eyelashes on through the ceremony and pics. Great job Tori!! DO NOT EVER USE THIS BUSINESS My daughter, Catherine Davis booked Tori to do her hair and makeup today for her wedding along with doing my hair and makeup as mother of the bride. We have called, messages and texted plus called the salon and Tori never showed up nor returned all any of our calls or messages. You talked about complete DEVASTATION for my baby girl on her wedding day. I did call the salon and was told that Tori was off today but is too busy with her own life and felt just fine by not showing up today for my daughter's wedding! Our services would have been over $400 but I guess TORI with FRINGE SALON doesn't need or cares or hurting people. I pray NO ONE EVER books TORI at FRINGE SALON again because she will ruin your one and only special day. I expect our deposit returned within the hour because now no one will answer the phone at the salon yet they are open. I expect a formal apology from Tori ASAP. Please absolutely no one book this salon ever again because you DO NOT MATTER to them on your wedding day. If I could give a negative 5 starts I would. No call, no show, no NOTHING on my wedding day! After I called and verified my appointment the day before!!!! A girl dreams of this day her whole life, and I trusted Tori from fringe salon to come to our cabin to help get my mother and I get ready for my special day. I am a Mississippi bride, so I'm not completely familiar with the Gatlinburg, TN area, but after this happened to me I have found MULTIPLE reviews of this salon stealing from people and no showing on their events. YES, they did refund our deposit and they paid my photographer for doing my makeup but refused and were very rude when I just asked for the money back myself. They refused to give me any extra money to compensate for the extra stress they put me through on my wedding day!! I mean one of my best friends was having to FaceTime my hairdresser back in Mississippi who was walking her through my updo, and my photographer was missing out on snapping precious shots while we all got ready because she had to do my makeup. It's completely ridiculous and very unprofessional how this salon works and operates, and I truly hope no bride EVER books them for their wedding! read more

Went today for wash, cut & blow dry/style. Definitely a bit on the pricier side of life compared to the run of the mill bargain salons but then again you're not getting a bargain haircut. Tori (sp?) took me in last minute, fixed my scruffy mane and made it look like a million dollars! She works magic! I will definitely be using her from now on. The only reason it didn't get a 5* is because the salon itself is rather run down and not very 'fresh' looking. Nothing too major mostly cosmetic but considering it is a place that does focus on the cosmetic it really needs to be cleaned up. Nothing that a fresh coat of paint, some elbow grease and replacing of some chairs wouldn't solve. Overall I recommend this salon. read more

Time for an updated review, most of the reviews are pretty old for Fringe Salon. Here is what happened and my hair cut is VERY uneven and terrible!! I was In the area, needed a hair cut. Travel full time so difficult to find good hair stylists. Made an apt. a week or so in advance Sat 8/26 @ 12.30pm. Show up at 12:25pm. Door locked, note on door says "out on location" ? Call no answer, recording says "out on location". What exactly does that mean, will you be back, when will you be back? Go sit in car for a few min, call again get message, leave a VM, was kinda pissed stated I was their for my scheduled apt and thanks a lot! Leave drive down street to Kroger to grocery shop. As I was walking to store get a VM message, not sure why my phone didn't ring. It's Victoria, "you were early, I am back at salon it's 12:32 if you want to come back I will wait until 12:45". Call back, Victoria is rude like it's my fault. I say are you sure you have time? She states yes, pretty rude. I am desperate for a hair cut, I don't feel good about it but I go back. Walk in, no apology or even mention about mix up, sit in chair, no chit chat. I had a purse and water bottle, doesn't ask if I want to put down, so hold on my lap. Cut my hair dry, says that is how they do it. Never in all my years has anyone cut my hair dry, think it's kinda the lazy way to do it. She literally took about 15 min to cut my hair maybe made all of 10-12 cuts. Didn't cross check, nothing. Her assistant washed my hair with the limpest most passive wash I have ever had, as well as dried my hair. No style, no curls nothing. As I get up to pay, Victoria comes back in, says oh let me see back, sits me back in chair make one more cut for a "straggler". checks me out, says costs. Done!!! WoW!!! Why did I tip? It was not warranted, nor earned. I am so tired of terrible service. $48 bucks + 5 tip!!! I was gonna get highlights but felt so uncomfortable decided was not a good idea. read more

Love this place! Not only is it the hippest, cutest salon in the area but the employees are amazing at what they do and are fun to be around, to top it all off! I wish I lived in the area, as this would be the only salon for me :) Alicia did my hair and my moms for my wedding on 5/3/2014 and Lorissa did my bridesmaid's ("she has more hair than Jesus" - Lorissa). They both came in early to accomodate my ceremony time and even let my friend with dreadlocks, who was obviously not getting her hair done, use there makeup station so she could get ready while we were! Alicia did an amazing job, she made me look even more beautiful than I ever knew I could be. If I were a millionaire I would put her on my payroll and bring her home with me, so I could look that amazing every day. Seriously. They were completely unorganized and overbooked. They had 2 different bridal parties come in before we were even finished as well as a regular customer scheduled who was waiting an hour past her scheduled time. There was only one makeup person and for most of the time 2 hair people. They need to hire someone to work on booking things in a more efficient way. read more

After seeing so many positive reviews, I thought I'd give this place a shot. What a cute hole in the wall place, but the employees were just not very friendly. Nobody welcomed me as I came in, and nobody introduced themselves. I have no idea what the stylist's name is who cut my hair, because she never told me. The client sitting beside me tried and failed to start a conversation with our stylists. The only conversation was the stylists complaining to one another about their coworkers (who apparently were not present). Such a terrible peeve of mine! It was very unprofessional. However, to be fair, the stylist did answer questions when I asked them. The stylist who cut my hair did an average job. She did not style my hair or even hold up a mirror for me to see the back. She just took off my cape and said I was finished. All in all, it took less than ten minutes. No shampoo, no style, just a quick haircut. I left with damp, flat hair. Sonia has been cutting my hair for years now. It turns out perfect every time.

I went on vacation with my fiancé and picked this salon after seeing all of the great reviews that were on here, but unfortunately I was not pleased with my experience here. I mentioned before that my engagement photos were at the end of the week and I wanted to be blonde for the pictures and she made it seem like it wouldn't be an issue with how light my natural color was. After 2.5 hours of highlighting I sat back down in the chair to see that my hair had hardly changed at all. The highlights were so small that now (two days later) I still do not notice much of a difference. My fiancé had come in to check on the process and was surprised to see that there was very little change to my color. When the issue was brought up I was told that I would need to come in for two more appointments to get the color I wanted and that I would have to pay full price for every session. I have highlighted my hair for 9 years before letting my natural color grow out and I have never had someone give me so little highlights when I ask for a full highlight. I know for a fact that I wouldn't need more than one appointment for what I asked for... I just wish she would have told me beforehand if she felt that she personally wasn't going to give me what I wanted. I spent a little over $100 and left the shop very upset with the service I experienced. I normally wouldn't post a review but I felt the need to share since my hair was meant to be for engagement photos and I would hate for anyone else to leave as unhappy as I am currently. read more

Was in town for a destination wedding. Wedding coordinator recommended Fringe Salon for the bride & I's nails. We had appointments at 10am. We did not leave until 1:30pm. The bride and myself both got gel manicures and pedicures. There was one nail tech to see us both. She bounced back and forth from one pedicure chair to another then gave our manicures one then another. If we had known we would be sharing a nail tech and that we would be there for 3+ hours we probably would have not booked appointments. Nails looked good after she finally finished us both so we paid, tipped, and went on our way. Our nails were done Friday June 15 and by today, June 19 both the bride and I have lost most of our gel nail polish. The ones that did not just randomly peel off could be easily done so with the run underneath of another nail. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN, especially not 4 days after the application. Only gave 2 stars because Crystal, the nail tech, was very nice. Sorry, cannot recommend. read more

After having gone to countless places to have my haircut in my life, I never thought I would find a place that the stylists were as talented as they were beautiful. I was blown away by the service and the atmosphere. I didn't have to say more than a couple things for Alicia to know exactly what to do. By the end of it I was willing to pay anything and was pleasantly surprised by a more than fair price. Spent hours researching reviews on where to get my wedding hair done as I recently moved to Tennessee. I asked for a hair and makeup trial and was only scheduled for 1 hour of time. Gave the hairdresser (who was a very nice girl!) a picture of what i was looking to do to my hair and after over an hour the end product produced didn't look anything like the picture. No joke I could have produced something that looked more like the photo myself unfortunately. My bun was in back instead of to the side, my braid was done incorrectly and in the wrong spot and i had pinned curls in the back of my head instead of a braided bun. Essentially, I had my high school prom hairstyle from over a decade earlier. I paid $90 for this trial and i left with not an ounce of makeup on me either. If you have high expectations and something specific in mind I suggest going somewhere that specializes in updo's. read more
