We gave Bill a deposit of $9000 in October 2019 for a roof to be completed by December 2019. It is now February 2022. That was the last we saw of him despite weekly phone calls and emails. Each week he would tell us he would be there the following Monday. At one point a pile of shingles was delivered right in the middle of our driveway. When we filled a complaint with the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, he picked up the shingles immediately. We received some but not all of our deposit back and have escalated our case with consumer affairs. tldr: This man will take your money with no intention of ever doing the job. read more

in October 2019 Bill Friendship provided us with a quote on supply & install for a metal roof and vinyl siding for our home on Howe Island. I'm embarrassed to admit I actually gave Bill Friendship a $12,000 deposit. Job was to start approx end of October 2019 and to be finished no later than end of November 2019. After chasing him for a couple months, he finally delivered some miscellaneous metal roofing material on January 3, 2020 and said he would start the job on January 5, 2020. Neither he nor his crew showed up. I called him on January 5 re the no-show. Bill said they were not able to start due to poor weather but would be out as soon as snow stopped. We never saw him again. We sent registered letters to the contactor on April 6, 2020 demanding that he return the $12,000. We received no response. I hired Bill to put on a new steel roof. It took him almost a year to do the job. He didn't clean up after he finished. He didn't finish putting on the ice guards. During last winter the roof leaked. I called several times with no response. He is terrible at getting back to me. Finally I called the better business bureau and filled a complaint. He said it was the snow on the roof and that I didn't have eves troughs. Every roof gets snow???? I put more ice guards on and eves troughs. My roof leaked again in the big rain storm. I called him and he started yelling at me called me an asshole for reporting him to the better business bureau. He never called me after several calls. He continued to yell at me and would not let me talk. He is extremely unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend him at all. read more

Had them do my roof and did a crappy job. Never did any of the step flashing where garage roof and house roof meet so leaked. Never did step flashing around chimney and leaked. What ever you do do not use them. Never returns phone call to come correct thier crappy poor work. read more

I hired this company because they did my roof approx 16 years ago and i had no issues then. What a mistake that was!! First they roofed my place in Feb when it was cold and rainy. The shingles did not stick down and 5 blew off approx 2 weeks later. They did come and fix that issue. Then approx a month later I saw leakage around the bathroom drain pipe in the attic. Bill Friendship came and rechalked around the pipe. Now I see various areas where the shingles are warped and lifted off the roof plus one area of what might be flashing is also warped in various areas. After repeated emails and phone calls to Friendship roofing with no response, i have to pursue alternate avenues to find resolution. My advice to anyone looking for a roofing company is to bypass this one. And if you have hired this company, CANCEL  NOW!!  He gives a lifetime warranty which he ignores. He is unresponsive and doesn't give a damn about workmanship. He is a scammer!! read more

Had these guys do $35k of roofs on my property and a year later, when a leak developed, they wouldn't come back. Checked the Better Business Bureau and found they had 12 complaints against them in the past three years regarding product and warranty issues. I'd suggest getting someone else. I had my roof recovered by Friendship & Brunsting Roofing 5 years ago. I have a lifetime warranty on labour signed by the owner Bill Friendship. The roof is leaking so I called early July, I was told they would look into it and call me back. I called again late July and was told again they would look into it and call me back. No call. Left a message on Aug 8th and told them I would contact the BBB if they did not call me back. A couple minutes later they called and told me that this was a NEW company with new owners. We know that this is not true, Bill Friendship still owns this company. He has chosen not to honour his warranty. Be aware, do not make the same costly mistake I did. This person is dishonest and does poor quality work. We now need to find somesone to fix his poor workmanship. read more

This guy is a crook!! A zero would be a more accurate rating but rating system will go only as low as 1. We had Bill replace shingles and skylights on our home. He did not give us any bill of sale for work done nor even give us bills for skylights in case we had any issues with them. Probably so he could use them for his own illegal tax purposes. We also called him numerous times to come check on issues we had with our roof and he never responded to any of our calls. Please do not go with this guy. If I could have given zero stars I would! As the previous comment stated be very, very afraid of Friendship Roofing - they will have no qualms in taking you money, but 6 months later when your roof starts to leak they will not return your calls, ignore your calls and basically behave in a shameless manner. I personally know of three different people who have had serious leaks shortly after Friendship worked on their houses, and Friendship does not even have the decency to return their calls. Do your homework, call around - these guys leave a wake of bad work behind them. To be honest, I'm surprised that in a relatively small place like Kingston they're still in business. This the worst roofing company I ever dealt with. Bill Friendship provided me with a nice, itemized estimate: replace any rotten or damaged wood, install new chimney flashing, supply and install new vents and much more. Non of those has been done. He left rotten OBS with mushrooms growing on it, never replaced vents so I have now squirrels living in the attic. He failed to properly integrate shingles with step flashing, we had a catastrophic flood. Consequently instead of eliminating one leaky spot, he added three more. I left countless voice messages, non of them has been returned. Once by coincidence he answer my call. As soon as I mentioned the leak, he hanged up. He charged me for re-roofing 400 sq. ft sun room with a promise to complete the work next spring - never did. He literary destroyed my rain gutters, when I complained about it before issuing the payment, he promised to replaced all of the gutter for $900. He never did. Friendship roofing has 8 different addresses, so that they can't be reached. Due to the substantial damage and additional rework of the roof I filed Small Claim Court claim. It was in 2017. Since then he has been dragging his feet. First adjournment by 3 months - he has to spent winter 2017 in Florida. Just now a second adjournment, he is "sick", but his cellular call is again coming from Florida. My honest suggestion - avoid this company at any cost. read more

this business did my roof in 2006 and started having problems in 2010 .He would not respond to our calls or emails we said we would take legal action now we are again having all kinds of problems and he will not stand behind 10 year labour warrenty.I wished I had checked the BBB before I gave him $6,000.I would have seen the F rating This company has not been registered to do business under this name since 2009. Will not answer the phone, and will not respond to our phone messages. Does not seem to understand the urgency associated with roof repair. after reading the posted reviews I wished I had checked this site prior to my June 2009 roofing contract with this shyster. Same story, 40 year warranty shingles blew off in Jan.2013. Took about 2 weeks to get repairs after numerous calls. Oct of 2013 more shingles missing from same spot. Have called about 14 times to date. Nov.26th. Bill promised repairs, never showed, will not take calls, voice mail only. Has anyone sued this company with success? He should be out of business! read more

We had our roof done by Friendship & BrunSTING Roofing based on their warranty claim. We have been asking to have a leak addressed for three months with no results. I will be adding to the BBB complaint list and making sure the Chamber of Commerce members know about their terrible customer service. I would not hire any Kingston roofing company with the name Friendship in it. Friendship Roofing advertises itself as a "family" company with some 40 years business experience, but this is only because it assumed previous corporate form operating from various warehouse storage rooms with a removable Friendship shingle tacked to the door. There is no office, no receptionist, and chances are the location will be changed by the time one needs to have Friendship back to correct faults. I counted some seven different fly by night addresses for Friendship roofing over the years. Once you pay your money to Friendship roofing never expect to see them again. They will remain elusive and hard to find. I obtained a court judgment of almost $7000 against Friendship and Brunsting, a company set up by Bill Friendship with his partner/wife as owner and his son, Corey, as a company director. Friendship called himself a "salesman" though he was the actual roofer who hired his workers and oversaw roofing jobs. Following my court judgment, Friendship and Brunsting declared bankruptcy and Bill Friendship went back into business as Friendship Roofing, a sole proprietorship. This at least showed his true colours and opens him to personal suit. For my part, I am still exploring further legal action. read more
