What a great park. I have kids multiple ages 2,4,6 and it's awesome when I find a park they can have fun in. We live in winter park but this is worth the drive.

Friendship Park is a big public park located in Oviedo. The play structure is very tall and colorful. There are smaller play structures for the younger children but everyone seemed drawn to the larger and more advanced play area. The entire park is gated and has benches around the play structures. There are several picnic tables and bathrooms available.

We love Friendship Park in Oviedo. There is a big kids playground and little kids playground, picnic tables, and bathrooms. Keep in mind that parking is at the elementary school next door. - Several different slides, including a tandem one and one that looks like a drop straight down - Four swings (two for babies) and all the squeaky swing noises to go along with them - Astroturf ground is nice! There is also a gate around the playground that keeps kids from running outside - Shady trees and shade structures surround the park to help with the heat Great way to spend a morning or afternoon watching your kids burn off energy.

Friendship park is a small park/playground in downtown Oviedo. There is one main play structure which is geared mostly for older kids. They have some neat elements like a log roll, rock wall and swinging steps, but otherwise it is your standard stuff. There are two massive slides which are really pretty steep, even the adults that went down them commented how they went shooting out! I liked the AstroTurf bottom and although they had picnic tables there was no covered shelter. There is a smallish grassy area nearby and public toilets. The Saturday we were there for a birthday party the place was slammed making it hard even for the kids to play without being on top of each other.

It's a great park with a lot shade. They just need to fix the broken slides pieces. They've been boarded up for a long time now.

Basically, a battle of the local rock and roll bands - a variety of different members from different bands come together on two teams for one day with a purpose to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Tickets are only $5, bring a foldup chair, 10x10 tent, a cooler and it's a great time watching all of our friends compete with one another on the field. Torcaso Cove Park is a great place to hold this event. There is a spacious field with plenty of space on the sidelines for fans. There are several parking areas available making parking easy for large events. There was plenty of space for a half-time show with live music right by the field. There were also a BBQ vendor and several other vendors on site selling food, jewelry, and other items. The park has a public restroom, a playground, splash park, sand pits, plenty of paved walking areas, a picnic area with tables, large pavilion, a beautiful bridge that crosses the heart shaped cove, the park has a bunch of Muscovy ducks waddling around and is dog friendly, what else can you ask for. Nancy and I really enjoyed our time at the park, we will definitely be back to bring our dog and take a nice walk. I just have to mention that it was a bit muddy on the field, even on a hot sunny day. So be sure to wear something you don't care about getting dirty.

Full of ducks and turtles, and I always make sure to bring oatmeal and frozen peas so I can spend a little time with them. You can feed them from the bridge, or the beach. They will surround you LOL. There are 3 play areas: 2 for the big kids, and a pirate themed area for the little kids. There is also a splash pad, and I will openly admit to running through recently, as I chose to go on my run when it was over 95 degrees. The park is very clean, and well cared for, and it's right next to the Winter Springs Police Department, and on this day they had an event bringing awareness to autism; I was offered a popsicle and gladly grabbed it. I sat on a bench to watch a soccer match, while I finished my cold treat, stretched a bit, put on my weighted vest, waved to the ducks, and took off. Perfect park on a perfect day :)

A focal point of the 14 acre Sam Smith Park is the playground designed by Landscape Structures and installed in 2017. The playground includes an Eclipse Net Plus which is a climbing net and a fun Rush Slide. Little ones will enjoy the Weevos playsystem for safe climbing, sliding, and bouncing. The SkyWays shade keeps kids cool and protects them from the sun. Other park amenities include a restroom, boardwalk, and Sam's Deck donated by the Tuskawilla Pioneer Gardening Club. There are covered picnic pavilions, tables, and grills for a family fathering or a cookout. There is also a 0.7-mile loop trail that goes to the back of the park and around the lake. The coolest thing about this park for me was that I saw so many red-shouldered hawks. They were everywhere, in the trees and on the ground. In Florida, the red-shouldered hawk is perhaps the most commonly seen and heard raptor species outside of black and turkey vultures. They prey on small rodents and one of them had a squirrel. His mate was screaming at him from the tree to bring it for dinner now! Seeing all of those amazing hawks is a memory I will not soon forget.

There are multiple play areas for children and they have a few nice gazebos and a pavilion, not to mention the deck overlooking a small what appears to be a retention pond. There is a short walkway and this park is relatively well maintained. They also have restrooms and a water fountain on the property. There are plenty of housing developments around this area and I'm sure that they are all very appreciative of this small park. We need these little parks to help define our communities. We need a place to gather in recreation and relaxation. Well this park is by no means large, it is a good place to come and hang out and escape the stress of the modern world for a while. I would definitely recommend here and I give it five stars.

The neighborhood and the park is named after one of the earliest property owner's daughter's favorite novel, Lorna Doone, written by English author, Richard Doddridge Blackmore, published in 1869. Lake Lorna Doone was the site of the South's first integrated Little League Baseball game on August 9, 1955. The 1955 little league season was the first after US Supreme Court rulings had eliminated "separate but equal" conditions in the nation's schools and public parks. The Pensacola Jaycees were declared winners of their local district by Little League headquarters in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. When local officials would not allow them to play against the all-white teams they instead advanced to the Florida State Tournament which was held at Lake Lorna Doone Park. They ended up losing to host Orlando in the second round, 5-0 but they were welcomed by the hometown crowd and given encouragement. In 2021, 12 acre Lake Lorna Doone Park underwent an $8 million renovation. Added to the park was the nine hole Arnold Palmer Putting Experience, fitness stations, a playground, football fields, basketball courts, a splash pad and the Winnie Palmer Nature Trail. I especially liked the nature trail where I got to see native plants and wildlife. With the upgrades, this park now has all of the amenities needed to inspire a healthy, active lifestyle for the West Lakes families who live in this neighborhood and all who visit.

Despite its small size, Sweetwater Park is a pleasant place to spend a bit of time. I enjoyed my time walking around here on an early Saturday morning. A bit of a pro tip, this park is not far from a Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream location and it woukd be a great place to stop after working up a sweat shooting some hoops or getting in a few games of tennis. Hey, even if you walk that wooden walkway it might be a good enough reason to treat yourself to some Ice cream.
