t's a great place to hang out and browse books. What makes bookstores truly valuable is strong…read morerecommendations, and I always find books I want to read here. The only downside is that they can't compete with Amazon's prices, though they do compare well with Barnes & Noble. That's just the reality of running a brick-and-mortar business. Still, it's always worth a visit. The staff is consistently friendly. My only real critique isn't about the store itself, but more about how Amazon's pricing power can make it difficult for small businesses to compete, making this store feel prohibitively exspenive for a college student (especially for one who has free access to the Paterno Library).

My husband can never pass up the change to check out a book store so we stopped in and were greeted by a friendly cashier and quite a large selection of books. Very clean and bright, its a quiet but quaint store that offers best sellers, value books, and a surprising amount of Japanese/high quality notebooks, stationary and pens. I did hear several people asking about what books they carried and the cashier was able to pull books for them or offer let them know when the book was in stock so I imagine they're still getting a feel for what stock to carry. I picked up 2 books from the recommended wall that piqued my interest and look foreword to reading them. Price wise they sell for retail price so on par with the big box stores, so I'd rather support a small business. Its also eerily quiet inside so I'd like some soft background music otherwise I was able to hear every conversation around me. Other than that its a cute small book store in the heart of state college. A nice addition I look forward to visiting on our next trip up

There are $1 books, holiday cards (60% off), calendars (50% off), $1 box kits, and special items too I spend a good amount of time at Bradley's Book Outlet browsing through the various travel books (some a few years old) which were all deeply discounted. Thisvstore has a decent variety of US travel & historic books, plus Europe, Middle East, and Mexico travel guides on the shelves. They also stock discounted "For Dummies" books too. I picked up a few travel journal books for light reading, which were less than $10 each. I make occasional visits to this Bradley's Books and their other locations (Pittsburgh area) to browse the changing selection of discounted books. You'll never know what you'll find here!

I'm giving this place a 5 star because the prices of books are relatively cheap!! From 3.99 to 12.00 for these massive history books also from a variety of history and time periods. Check the days and hours before you visit. Lady Matilda and I come to the market for our meats and spices, grab a soft pretzel or three from the Amish kiosk, and see what the Bookworm has to surprise us. It's a friendly shop where they remember you and your tastes. I've converted a lot of clients and friends in the area who were quick to dismiss it as just another dirt-mall book dump. Absolutely not. The store carries the professionalism of classic independent booksellers with the fun of a friendly mom-and-pop store. Take a break from the busy market on your next visit.

There's so much to see inside, with all kinds of book genres all well-organized and easy to search. The staff was incredibly friendly and approached me twice to ask if there was something they could help me find. They knew where everything was and knew sometimes even before they'd look what was on the shelves and what wasn't (or what just sold a couple of days/weeks ago). Very insightful and their kindness made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for the used book lover!

I went to Shippensburg University and worked in this town for seven years, and never once did I find my way into this shop, but I am so glad that I found it now. It's hidden back an alleyway, and while there's a small sign out front that you can see from the street, you need to know where it is or you'll miss it. The selection available at the Book Junction is truly the best in any shop I've visited. I walked in looking specifically for one book (Neuromancer by William Gibson), and not only did I find it (seriously I've visited 8 other bookstores including Barnes and Noble and none had it), but I also found books five OTHER classic science fiction books I'd been unable to find elsewhere too. Paperback books are generally priced half off of whatever the publisher's price was on the book, which is pretty reasonable. The owner told me this mom and pop shop has been open for 23 years this year. Do yourself a favor and go check the Book Junction out. It's one of the absolute best I've come across and you won't be disappointed!

Webster's has a fantastic book selection, and I really don't think I've ever seen prices as cheap as theirs. The bookstore is huge, and there is always something I find to buy. They have an enormous selection of folio editions, a huge Civil War section, and manage to keep cheap paper backs to a minimum. They have occasional events and sales, such as buy 3 get one free, or when a donor drops off a huge stack of books they often put them out at sale prices. The owners are also so so nice and really love books. They will do whatever they can to help you find something you're interested in. I am in love with the space. Piles of books everywhere, sort of chaotic organization, winding bookcases and hidden seating areas - all they need is a cat! You can reserve tables for meetings, but you can also just grab an open one. I actually have never eaten AT the cafe, but I've had their catering quite often and it is really delicious food.
