From the start, the environment felt warm, welcoming, and genuinely focused on the kids. Our son absolutely loved going every day--he was excited to be there, which was such a relief for us as parents. During his time there, he moved up into another class and truly grew by leaps and bounds, both socially and developmentally. The play-based learning approach struck the perfect balance of fun and education, and it was clear how much thought and care went into their programs. The staff is incredible--Director Ms. Vanessa runs a tight ship while still creating a nurturing, positive atmosphere. Ms. Kiki and Ms. Alice were especially wonderful with our son, showing so much patience, kindness, and encouragement. One moment that really meant a lot to us: when we had to move out of state, they threw our son a going-away birthday party--even though his actual birthday was more than a month away. That level of thoughtfulness speaks volumes about how much they care about the kids and families. They were also very communicative throughout our time there, which we appreciated. And as a bonus, they helped solidify our son's potty training, which was a huge milestone. We only left because of our move, otherwise we would have stayed without hesitation. Highly, highly recommend Kreative Kidz Preschool to any family looking for a caring, engaging, and supportive environment for their child

He looks forward to going to school every day and is always excited to see his friends and teachers. He even asks us to let him go to school on weekends! What I love most is how much he enjoys learning--even at home--which he says is because his teachers make it so much fun! My husband and I are also aware of what's going on since the teachers (especially Miss Vanessa, Miss Adriana, and Miss Rosa) keep us updated in Class Dojo and also makes time to talk to us during drop off/pick up. As a mom who tends to worry, seeing my only child beam with excitement every morning gives me so much peace knowing he's in such caring and capable hands.

I want to share my recent experience to help other families avoid going through the same situation…read more I specifically asked for financial assistance and grant information BEFORE even scheduling a daycare tour, because cost is a major factor for my family. The program director, Savi, told me that the information could not be provided until after paying a fee. After paying $125, I later learned from the funding agency that there is a waiting list over a year long, and we are currently #49. The agency also stated that providers are fully aware of these waitlists and should be disclosing this before collecting any fees. To make things worse, I was later told there was an assumption that I was already approved for assistance--which is completely untrue and contradicts the email chain. On April 9th, I was told we would need to be approved first before selecting a school, by the program director confirming we were starting the process from scratch. Because of the lack of transparency, my child still cannot attend daycare, and we were put in an unnecessary financial and childcare bind. Please, if you are a parent searching for childcare, make sure you: * Ask about funding, grant programs, and waitlists BEFORE paying any fees * Request all terms and information in writing * Verify timelines and eligibility directly with the funding agency * Confirm that the daycare is being fully transparent I'm sharing this so other families can be informed and avoid unnecessary stress during an already challenging process. Program Director did agree to refund me, so I am waiting fot the refund.

The teachers…read moreare wonderful and truly care for the children, but the program director, Savi, was unprofessional and difficult to work with. I enrolled my 2-year-old in March, and he only lasted a month in the program. During that time, he frequently missed days due to getting sick developing symptoms that led to respiratory issues. Our entire household ended up sick as well. When I called Ms. Savi to ask about the sick child protocol, she said she recommends children rest at home for 24 hours and then return, even if they still have a cough or runny nose, because "most of the children do." I explained that this wasn't working for us, as my son kept getting sick within days of returning. Instead of addressing my concerns, she responded, "Well, your child is the one that cries a lot, yea?" I explained that he cries because he is still adjusting to a new environment. She then recommended that I remove him from the facility because of how often he cries. She quickly shifted the conversation to payment for the time he was there, completely dismissing my concerns. Weeks later, she called saying she noticed my son hadn't been attending. I reminded her that she told me to remove him, and she suddenly said, "Oh no, he could have stayed for another month," and then mentioned upcoming graduations. It felt clear she was more concerned about tuition than the children's well-being. She continued to call and leave messages afterward, which I chose to ignore. Overall, the facility itself has great learning tools and caring teachers, but Savi's lack of professionalism, empathy, and regard for children's health and safety overshadowed the positives. I would not recommend this program to parents seeking a truly supportive environment for their child.

The general concerns and hesitation that come with having your son/daughter start school always vary, but this school and their staff do an absolutely excellent job in ensuring the best for their children, and they do their best to make sure they address that hesitation feeling. It was immediately felt through their level of communication with parents, organized curriculum, learning activities, and child ratios that they care about each and every one of their children. The Gr8t Beginning Academy are caring and definitely have qualified staff, in my opinion. They were always so friendly, professional, and warm! Again, I also admire their curriculum and learning activities, as it's very apparent on a daily basis of what I personally see in my child's development; academic and developmental appropriateness. They're excellent in focusing on creativity through arts, music, cultural exposure, play - social and development activities. There is little to no doubt that my child will excel and is ready for kindergarten. I commend the school and teachers for the work they do. The wife and I cannot thank them enough for all they have done. They were great with communication, flexibility, transparency, and overall respect. We have been happy and more importantly so has our child in having him attend Gr8t Beginning Academy. We are satisfied to say the least and would recommend them without reservation Thank you Miss Linda, Miss Claudia, and Mrs. Maria. Simply put, you made the best experience in my child's first years of school. What you do is not easy ,but you all are so great in what you do :). You are the best!

I toured Flourishing Little Leaders after hearing great things from a fellow mom. I had to reach…read moreout to the owner several times before we made contact. Even after speaking with Ashley to set up a tour date, she never followed up with the address of the facility. I ended up finding the address online somewhere and showed up to house. I think I caught her a bit off guard as she had her young son with her and had me wait for a few minutes before starting the tour. Anyways, the tour went well. I liked what I saw and heard. I was really looking to change daycares at the moment since I was days away from giving birth. I told Ashley that my son was exhibiting son challenging "terrible twos" behavior. She said that her assistant and herself were more than equipped to handle behavior issues. She also said that in all of her years she only had to terminate one contract due to challenging behaviors and that was after months of working with the child and family. She also said she really works with families if the kid is having challenging behaviors before terminating a contract. I decided to try this place out because they had a lot of age appropriate activities I felt my son would love. Days 1-5 were a bit rocky, he exhibited some poor behaviors I expected. My son is not malicious, he is just in a time of transition and is getting very frustrated so easily these days. I would check in with the assistant, Raevyn, and at the time she felt my son was just trying to transition and was optimistic about him being successful in the future. By Day 5 we started getting phone calls about his behavior basically telling us to pick him up during the morning. On Day 7 I gave birth and my husband was called to leave the hospital to go pick up my son early, the call was received around 10am. Same happened on Day 8, since my husband couldn't be in two places at once, daycare had to wait until I was discharged until we could pick my son up. I decided to pick him up since I had not seen him while I was in the hospital. Usually you are able to go inside and get your kid, today he was brought out to me. Then Ms. Raevyn told me, "Let me know if you need anything." I told her I needed a full day of childcare.... No response was received. On Day 9 I arrive to drop my son off and the assistant, Ms. Raevyn, asks me, "Do you think he will have a good day?" I told her that I cannot predict that. She called the owner and gave me the phone. The owner, Ashley, said she would not be in today and the assistant cannot handle my son on her own. I repeatedly asked for clarification so Ashley finally said they would not accept my son today but I could expect a call later in the evening with some ideas on how to support Patrick. She specifically said she spoke to a friend who is a behavior therapist and we would discuss some new tips during our evening phone call. Ashley never called me. I called her twice and texted her around 8:30pm and was unable to reach her. I afound this to be so unprofessional. If my son was being excluded, I should know ahead of time, not when I arrive to drop him off. Day 10, when I drop my son off I can already sense the irritation with Ms. Raevyn. I asked her if everything was ok and she said, "Yeah, I'm sick. I mean I have allergies." I get a text from Ashley shortly after drop off letting me know that once my child has 2 more incidents, he will be terminated immediately. Since Ashley doesn't stay onsite all day, she doesn't want my son there after she leave. She texted me I had to pick up my kid and our contract was terminated although he didn't reach the two additional incidents. I would like to thank the team for revealing their true selves so early on so that I would not have to subject my child to their negative energy anymore. (That complaint on the community care licensing probably had more merit than I originally thought). But again, Ashley and Raevyn, I thank you for teaching me a valuable lesson. I was so focused on making sure the childcare checked off the educational boxes my mama teacher heart desired, I wasn't making sure they checked off any social emotional boxes. As each day progressed, I noticed my son becoming increasingly angry. By Days 8-10, he didn't really want to get out of the car to go in to the facility. I should have paid closer attention to this behavior and have not written it off as a new issue arising from his 2 day old sibling. My 2 1/2 year old has been in daycare since he was 4 months old and I never experienced these behaviors from him. Since we stopped taking him to this daycare, he is back to being his normal, happier self.

    Torrance Montessori School

Both my son and daughter attended Torrance Montessori School…read more My son started first, from age 3-5. Then my daughter was there from 2-3. When we moved out of the area so that my son started kindergarten, that is when we unenrolled. I really like the balance between indoor/outdoor time and also between structured/open play. There is a lot of free open play built into the day's schedule which I like because the kids get to interact with each and build friendships. At the same time, there is also structure and routine. A typical day is as follows (this is when my children were enrolled so maybe this has changed a bit, you'll have to check with the school): before 9 am is open play. Lots of Montessori style toys and activities for kids to choose from. 9-11 am is academics with children being grouped by age. Their curriculum is age appropriate for that group. 11-1 pm is lunch and open play outside. The outside has plenty of space plus a playground plus flowers/plants and other items to play with. 1-2:30 pm is nap time for those who still nap. Nap is a separate building in the back away from the kids that no longer sleep so the kids can rest undisturbed. If they no longer nap, then there is an art/craft activity, spanish class, music class and/or another learning activity for those kids. 2:30-3:30 pm is open play and a snack break. I think they also offer extended care 3:30 pm - ? but I didn't have the kids in extended care, so I am not sure about the experience. I would imagine there is more open indoor/outdoor play. The teachers there have been there for many years. They are very sweet and caring but also have rules and safety expectations. They are attentive and they tune into what they see throughout the day. They will share important information or behaviors that they pick up on from your child and they will communicate. I also would go to them for advice if I was struggling with language or behaviors at home and they often would have very helpful tips to help me work on that and it often worked. This place is a very clean!! The kids are constantly washing their hands from the first moment they walk in the door and throughout the day. This place will be an amazing environment for your children. They will make strong friendships and also will be ready for elementary school. It is run by very great teachers, and it is affordable compared to all the other Montessori type schools in the area. I know because i looked into all of them and researched and compared. I was surprised that there are not a larger or students enrolled, but i think the reason is that Torrance Montessori is not an app-based school and/or a social media school. This school functions with good old fashion phone calls/and or speaking in person. My children both had a great experience here and they still have playdates with friends that they met here. I am glad I found this school when I did.

She would cry almost every morning. Even though she'd tell me she had a great day and enjoyed herself, the tears never really stopped, even after more than a year. That's when I decided to look for a new school. As soon as we found Torrance Montessori, everything changed. The dropoff tears stopped, which felt like such a relief. It truly felt like we had found the right place for her. When my son turned two, we enrolled him as well. While the school follows a Montessori approach, it also has a strong academic focus, which I've really appreciated. They offer both Spanish and Mandarin, and there's even a music class on Fridays. My daughter felt confident and well prepared going into Kindergarten, and my son, who is now four, can already write his name and count to 100. I'll admit, I don't spend much time doing extra teaching at home, so it's been impressive to see how much they've learned at school. The environment is safe, clean, and nurturing. Many of the teachers have been there for years, and it shows in how much they genuinely care about the students. If you're considering it, I'd definitely recommend taking a tour and seeing it for yourself. One last thing I want to add is that tuition was very reasonable and the lowest compared to other preschools. The hours are from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm with extended hours after.
