The stretch farther east, between Statesboro and Savannah, is better because it has a relatively new QuikTrip. This Love's has 12 standard pumps and doubles as a truck stop. There's a Chester's Chicken and Subway on site. The restaurants and convenience store are open 24/7. This is Love's Store #320 and it's located about halfway in between Atlanta and Savannah at I-16 Exit 49: SR 257 - Dublin, Dexter.

The entire site was an eyesore for trash, unfortunately. The trash cans at the pump were full, the trash cans at the entrance were jam packed with litter on the sidewalk, and the men's restroom was similar with full trash, paper towel debris on the floor and in the sinks. Coffee was well priced and decent! Hopefully, this was just a staffing issue and increased holiday travelers that was a rare depiction of the site's cleanliness.

We are traveling with our three grandchildren. After leaving Savannah to go toward Macon, we were traveling on I-16 where there are too many miles between gas stations and convenience stores. Our youngest traveler needed to use the restroom badly. Suddenly, Exit-71 was there with a Chevron gas station and convenience store. I followed my wife and three kids into the convenience store. We were greeted by a woman with one of the friendliest faces and beautiful smiles one could hope to meet during travels. Sandra, the employee behind the counter, smiled at our family and said, "Good morning". My first thought was that she saw our desperation, and like a flight attendant she pointed us in the right directions with "Women's room this way, Men's room this way". Then, as I waited in the store for our two boys who were in the restroom, I saw that she greeted everyone as they entered the convenience store. The convenience store seemed so clean and orderly. I checked to make sure that our boys left the restroom clean. The restroom was very clean. My wife said that the women's restroom was also very clean. I talked with Sandra for a few minutes. She told me that she treats the store as if it is her personal home, and we are her guests. If someone came to visit her at her home, the first thing that she would do is to make the guest feel welcome and tell them, "Restroom is that way and the fridge is that way". When I like someone's refreshing personality, I comment to my wife, "I would have coffee with that person". I would have coffee with Sandra. What a unique, fresh personality. I recommend 100%, a refreshing stop at the Chevron, Exit 71 on I-16 between Macon, and Savannah.

I've stopped at a many Pilot Travel Centers across this land and I must say most are dirty and…read moregrungy, it's tough out here on the road and nothing comes easy as you burn up the blacktop, whether you have eighteen wheels or two these travel centers are popular. Cars and Bikers out front jockeying to get a spot at the pumps, the diesel rigs out back, the truckers like it that way, just ask them four wheelers are a distraction, a pain in the ass and are nothing more than rookies behind the wheel. The locals use this place as a convenient store, some of their mommas work here, they step out the front door to sneak a smoke and they'll tell you "I'll be right in hun" - this place turns and burns and there ain't much time to take a break so excuse the butts on the ground, some twisted and smashed some still have a ember and the homeless pray they find it before it gets snuffed out, they hit is while digging through the trash looking for a empty aluminum can or a half eaten honey bun. My rigs hold a little over one hundred gallons so I have time to people watch and see poverty first hand. I don't feel anything but empathy for those that struggle and I never judge those that are less fortunate. I think most are doing the best they can in the situation they're in even though some are living with a history of bad decisions we rather know what landed them here. They don't scare me and I don't look down on this percentage of our population, I help them out when I can and if I'm honest when can't I help them out? - it's my choice, so judge me on my actions instead of judging them on their situation. The pump nozzle just kicked out, my break from the road comes to an end and I know I may never pass this way again. I hope I made a positive impact, my payment at the pump is an invisible contribution to a cause I may or may not knowingly support. I didn't go inside so I don't know if the restrooms are clean or dirty, I didn't interact with the staff so I can't comment on the level of service - this place did provide me a place to see a little piece of the world today and I'm thankful for that. I'm committing to paying it forward - all of us can spare some pocket change so leave some on the edge of the trash bin, on top of the pump or on the curb, we'll all be better for it. They have the average convenience store items, as well as hot pizza. They sell lottery tickets and beer or wine products. The gas prices are about the same as other exits. Bathrooms could use some updating. You must purchase something to use them and you will need a key. It's a old log cabin and picnic tables with a cute wishing well. There is a cute outhouse that's old too but not for use of course. The old post office building is there too. Just a nice little place to make you feel you've gone back in time.

This and the fact that there's always a ton of people inside (like everyone just left the Magic Kingdom and has come here before going home. ‍ ), is why I rarely stop here. There are plenty of food / snack options as well as drinks. The bathrooms are huge and clean. If you've never been here, you should visit and draw your own conclusions.
