I have nothing against Bobby and his crew personally (they're all very nice people) but they do not have the skills to handle any kind of detail or finish work. And Bobby does not stay on top of his crew and he did not supervise the work sufficiently. Example #1: We asked them to install a butcher block counter top. When they finished the counter top still had filler in spaces and we had to call them back to scrape it away. And then within one week of the installation, the material they used to fill cracks where the countertop butted up against the backsplash had started to crack. Three months after the installation one piece of the backsplash came away and I had to reglue it myself. Example #2: They installed a hardwood floor in the living room and bedrooms. They didn't install a saddle between the living room and the kitchen (a transition to vinyl tile). When asked to rectify it, they cut down a piece of base molding and then didn't even bother to polyurethane or finish the piece of wood at all. Example #3: We bought four solid wood doors to replace existing hollow core doors. They had to paint them but did not paint the bottom and top surfaces of the doors (when they're installed you won't see these edges as they're butted up against the floor and ceiling respectively). As a result, moisture has penetrated the doors and they have changed size. Now I'm going to have to wait until fall to wait for the humidity to drop and the doors should shrink back (hopefully) and then I'll have to get them repainted. Example #4: The vinyl floor in the kitchen had a big bump in one spot. We asked them to remove the tile where the bump was, and re-level that spot. The did do that, but there was still a small high spot. These are just four examples of the quality of Delta Contractors's work. They may be great at doing stucco work or repaving driveways. But if you want quality interior work done, look elsewhere.

Several providers responded to my yelp inquiry, and Line & Tone was one of the first and most responsive. The owner, Anton, asked questions and requested photos to ascertain the scope of work, and then provided an estimate. We offered an opportunity for him to visit the unit to assess the project, and he did so-- on a Sunday. He followed up, confirming the estimate, and we agreed to proceed based on our sense that he understood our needs: a painter who is effective, efficient, and fair with regard to pricing. Prior to the start of work, Anton knew to ask about the building's vendor requirements and work hours, and he promptly submitted all the necessary paperwork. He purchased the paint and supplies and showed us all the receipts. Over the course the project, which lasted four days, we found Anton to be friendly and communicative. We had the walls painted white, and had some dry walls patched after some electrical work. The dry wall patching added to the cost, but we thought it was reasonable. All in all, we are very happy with the result. Anton is knowledgeable, skilled, and a hard worker. He cares about the quality of his work and the reputation of his business. We look forward to working with Anton on future projects.
