    Village of Akron

This place could be so cute. It looks like an adorable village, but when you take a closer look,…read morenothing is opened, or occupied in buildings. A Quiet Place 2 picked a good location for a desolate town. The park is cute, and right in the center of town. I wish someone would come through here and spruce it up. It could be the next East Aurora, or Lewiston at some point.

Much bigger and busier than the minuscule Akron, OH, this bustling metropolis is actually the 3rd…read morelargest city in New York State, after Horseheads, NY and Schenectady, NY, and just ever-so-slightly ahead of Montauk, NY, and the newly-independent city of Staten Island, NY. And if you believed any of that, then you are obviously an Alaskan considering moving to NYC. In which case I will say to you, good luck, and if you run into Sarah Jessica Parker, just keep your head down and don't make eye contact. So on to the Village Of Akron in NY. I live so close to this village, that I can literally smell the wood burning illegally in the backyard of that guy with the Confederate Tattoo on his left buttock that lives over by the Candy Apple Cafe. You know the one I mean. I live about 10 mins from Akron. I go shopping here. I go and eat here (usually Yogi's). I drive through here when I go to get petrol or head for Batavia or Rochester or Medina or Albion or Syracuse or Ithaca or you name it. I know this town better than almost any other. It's a lovely little sleepy American town. It's not *that* sleepy at times, it has its own angry drivers, its own triplet of Pizzerias, its own Post Office, and its own monolithic High School on the road to the Indian Reservation, it even has a McDonalds (with limited hours) and a Dollar General (with no understanding of customer service). And cops that will pull you over for doing 6 over the limit. So in these senses, it is very quintessential Americana. The best food in town might be Yogi's Brick Oven Pizza... there are some bar options and Chinese options and 2 other Chinese options and then 2 little diners as well, but that's the only one which makes consistently yummy (yummylicious, etc) food. Service and opening hours are sketchy though. Akron gets extra points for having an amazing bike path system which people come to use from miles around, it's pretty rad, if rad is even still a thing. And also a beautiful nature park (Akron Falls Park, I think). And of course the famous actor, Dan Akron, from Ghostbusters and Blues Brothers, is from here, and still lives here, in a Winnebago parked behind the Strip Club. OK, Akron doesn't have a strip club. Sorry if I got your hopes up.
