I went to the Akron fire hall a couple weeks ago for a Wild Game dinner that was sponsored by the local Masonic lodge. Located in downtown Akron, I had never been inside. I arrived a little early as I drove my brother and dad and we wanted to secure a good spot. There is a pretty big parking lot with ample spots. The main hall is on the 2nd floor which was a pain for dad, but no grumbling and he managed just fine. There's a nice bar and the bathrooms were clean and convenient. There are large windows that overlook the park side of the building. I was surprised how nice the room was and would consider using the space if needed. Naturally there's a kitchen. Although the review is on the space, the event was well run and a nice time. Places like firehalls have become overlooked in today's event businesses but this one is clean and attractive. read more
