I was here 5:24pm and ran out of beef tips, spaghetti and biscuits. They were not replacing it. The salad bar was not filled either. Chicken was dried out. It was totally disgusting. Some good ol' country home cooking! Thank you for letting us in. We were staying at The Great Wolf Lodge and I asked some family from Columbus if they wanted to meet for dinner. We showed up at the Fried Green Tomato after I saw great reviews on Yelp. Literally the BEST Meatloaf I've ever had. The fried green tomatoes, cabbage, rutabagas and yeast rolls were AMAZING. The mashed potatoes definitely needed more butter and salt but they probably make it like that so you can add your own. The green beans were basic, no meat seasoning which would set them apart. The black eyed peas were basic, no meat seasoning but I mix them with my mashed potatoes so still good. The corn bread was good! Yeh fried chicken was ON POINT! I had a piece of fried chicken but hubby had 4 thighs!!! lol he said it was so good. We had some salad from the salad bar which is actually why we went there to begin with. I looked up restaurant info online and it said on Sundays they close at 8pm and we arrived at 6:40-6:45pm. The lady at the register said 'Y'all will be the last ones we take because we are closing early to have our carpets cleaned.' Needless to say the people behind us weren't happy. I'm so glad we got in because the food was pretty good! Oh the candied yams with marshmallows were good as well. And the Ham! The Ham was so tasty. It was way better than we expected. My husband and I went to Fried Tomatoes Buffet in Lagrange to have lunch. We have NEVER been treated like crap here before. The cashier totally ignored my husband while waiting to pay for our lunch. The customer before us got her to go food looked behind herself saw my husband and went to talk to everyone in there. She knew she pissed my husband off. The cashier did not say a darn word to the lady, she just smiled at my husband. That really PISSED my husband off. He called me and we left for good. The buffet itself had good variety, but some dishes like the pot roast became stringy and fried chicken had been on the burners for a while and weren't as tender. A buffet is a bit tricky really - the thought of so many hands, bodies and open mouths all over the exposed food on the buffet, the food in the buffet looking old and picked over and then the row of partially filled pitchers of drinks left out in the open for the sneezes and coughs kinda made me a bit ill feeling. I wasn't a fan of the protein choices, but that's just because I wasn't in the mood for one fried chicken and chicken livers. Not that they weren't good, just wasn't in the mood for them. The staff was nice also. We have spent last couple of days at Great Wolf Lodge so anything under $2,000,000 per person sounded good.
