I was here 5:24pm and ran out of beef tips, spaghetti and biscuits. They were not replacing it. The salad bar was not filled either. Chicken was dried out. It was totally disgusting. Some good ol' country home cooking! Thank you for letting us in. We were staying at The Great Wolf Lodge and I asked some family from Columbus if they wanted to meet for dinner. We showed up at the Fried Green Tomato after I saw great reviews on Yelp. Literally the BEST Meatloaf I've ever had. The fried green tomatoes, cabbage, rutabagas and yeast rolls were AMAZING. The mashed potatoes definitely needed more butter and salt but they probably make it like that so you can add your own. The green beans were basic, no meat seasoning which would set them apart. The black eyed peas were basic, no meat seasoning but I mix them with my mashed potatoes so still good. The corn bread was good! Yeh fried chicken was ON POINT! I had a piece of fried chicken but hubby had 4 thighs!!! lol he said it was so good. We had some salad from the salad bar which is actually why we went there to begin with. I looked up restaurant info online and it said on Sundays they close at 8pm and we arrived at 6:40-6:45pm. The lady at the register said 'Y'all will be the last ones we take because we are closing early to have our carpets cleaned.' Needless to say the people behind us weren't happy. I'm so glad we got in because the food was pretty good! Oh the candied yams with marshmallows were good as well. And the Ham! The Ham was so tasty. It was way better than we expected. I normally wouldn't get Sweet Potato pie but it's my hubby's fave and he had me try his because it's the BEST Sweet Potato pie we ever had. Highly recommend Fried Green Tomatoes! My husband and I went to Fried Tomatoes Buffet in Lagrange to have lunch. We have NEVER been treated like crap here before. The cashier totally ignored my husband while waiting to pay for our lunch. The customer before us got her to go food looked behind herself saw my husband and went to talk to everyone in there. She knew she pissed my husband off. The cashier did not say a darn word to the lady, she just smiled at my husband. That really PISSED my husband off. He called me and we left for good. The way we were treated was complete and utterly BS!!!! We will NEVER EVER go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!!!!!!! We didn't want to any stars, but had to. I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The fried tomatoes were delicious! I'd never had them so crispy and seasoned. The buffet itself had good variety, but some dishes like the pot roast became stringy and fried chicken had been on the burners for a while and weren't as tender. Let me start off this review with stating the price for the buffet, which was $8.00 per person for supper! The food was ok, the place was a bit of a mess and the service was decent. It was basically a roller-coaster ride for me. A little good - a little not so good - a little good. How can I decide on my stars? A buffet is a bit tricky really - the thought of so many hands, bodies and open mouths all over the exposed food on the buffet, the food in the buffet looking old and picked over and then the row of partially filled pitchers of drinks left out in the open for the sneezes and coughs kinda made me a bit ill feeling. But add to it the amount of food pieces on the floor and the basic lack of cleanliness and before I knew it - I was done eating. You can't beat the price and our waitress was friendly - though the only time she came over to see if we needed more drinks - we were done and ready to leave. Did I cover everything? read more

This is an outstanding place. We kind of found it by accident. The food was good in every way. A lot of eating establishments advertise home cooking but this truly is. Good country cooking. Was expecting a large buffet like chain restaurants for some dumb reason, but it was fairly small. I thought the sides were really good. I wasn't a fan of the protein choices, but that's just because I wasn't in the mood for one fried chicken and chicken livers. Not that they weren't good, just wasn't in the mood for them. The staff was nice also. We have spent last couple of days at Great Wolf Lodge so anything under $2,000,000 per person sounded good. You can't beat the price, two people for 19.00 which includes the drinks. We ate here several times while visiting LaGrange. The items on the buffet were fresh and hot, the service was quick. I was surprised how good the food was. The place is in a dead strip mall and the cashier was kinda rude. However most everything was homemade, the meatloaf and green fried tomatoes were great.
