I am American who was traveling to Stockholm for the first time. After a long afternoon at the Swedish History Museum (learning about Vikings of course), my wife and I had not made dinner plans. My wife had read about Friden's Krog and we decided to give it a go.
I was VERY happy with the service, the food and the atmosphere. It was very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and our server was a delight. She spoke excellent English and steered us to a lot of great dishes and drinks.
Friden's is a very low key and quiet (thank goodness) atmosphere, away from the noise and bustle of other more modern establishments. I feel like I am at a local family pub. You must try the shrimp appetizer (Toast Skagen) and the local snaps. The main dishes were generous and cooked to perfection. The Plankstek med Oxfilé was super!
If you want quiet, low key, comfortable and friendly with traditional Sweedish dishes and you are near the History Museum, give it a try. read more
