This outlet in the Spencer Street Fashion Station practices what it preaches: quite simply quality…read moreshoes at quality prices. The shop is well organised and there are an abundance of different shoes to try on. The layout makes it easy to try on shoes categorised by size, and is a real time saver. Let me explain: a real time saver in the sense that you are able to try on and purchase boots, flats and sandals in the same area without having to move around the store. This outlet does not disappoint. You know when you go shoe shopping; you find a pair of shoe/s that you like only to find out that your size is not available? Or if your size is available, the shoes are miraculously too small for you? That is so frustrating. You (in nearly all cases) will not experience this type of frustration at this outlet. I have noted this the last few times I have brought shoes here anyway. Or another frustration with shoe shopping: you like one or more of the styles and type of shoe on sale; yet it is never in your size - bugger! Once again this is rarely a problem at this outlet. The staff are friendly and fast on their feet. This is a great place to go to if A - you want to buy shoes real quick; and B - to buy shoes without the fuss in a no frills manner.

Admittedly, this is something that doesn't happen as much these days. Last thing I bought here was a dryer. A really good one. I had to decide between two very highly regarded brands, and the dude who helped me shared some of his experiences with how many had been returned and that sort of thing. He also gave me a pretty good price. I was happy with that, so I bought it.

Not terribly long ago, I was shopping for a new vaccuum. I'd gotten my tax return back, and had a…read morebit to spend, and I was tired of buying the cheapest, crappiest Kmart branded piece of poo every year or two, because inevitably, it'd be faced with one speck of dust too many and just stop working. I figured a good one should last me a long time, and actually pick stuff up. Well, I checked out The Good Guys at Moorabbin first. They had a pretty good range of some of the bigger names, and there weren't really many cheapies there, but that's ok, I was shopping for quality. One of the guys saw me browsing and came over to assist me in my quest. Really nice guy, very helpful, not annoying at all. I asked him if he could do better than the number on the price tag, and yes, he could do quite a bit better. Long story short, no, I didn't get my vaccuum here, but that's because I found the same thing elsewhere a little bit cheaper. But I had a good experience as a potential customer, so I can see myself buying things there in the future.

Now that that SO:ME space is open, some new local designers have moved in and Rollie is one of them. Designed in Australia, Rollie makes super light and colourful shoes. Their shop owner also designs for Mollini, so you can find a range of their shoes here too. I can't say they're made locally though based on the 'Made in China' label on the sole of my new boots! The range is good and the shoes are good quality, making this a tempting stop-in when grocery shopping.

After reading the Yelp reviews for Bared Footwear promising nice shoes that were good for your feet…read moreand podiatrist recommended, I immediately made plans to get down there and check it out. I used to have orthotics and have a bit of a dodgy body so it piqued my interest. But mostly I thought their mens' shoes range could be the answer to my hospitality-worker husband's problematic feet and recent pain issues. He now has a really lovely looking pair of work shoes that won't kill his feet. Bonus for me, I found two really nice pairs of casual shoes for him that he equally loves. So while we didn't get them all there and then (shoes here cost between $200-$290 a pair) it looks like I will finally get to stop nagging him to stop wearing thongs out and get him into some decent weekend shoes soon! Wife win. The women's shoes range have flats, loafers and heels. Most have an ankle strap to hold you in and stop toe-clawing. I found them a bit bulky for what I'm used to, but they're super comfy and I think I'll probably end up with a pair of the loafer style that comes up higher on the foot and doesn't need the strap. Right now I'm holding out for their new season winter boots as I myself do a fair bit of running around on foot. The staff were really friendly and knowledgable. They assured us that if there were any problems with the shoes at all, we could bring them back and they can refit the insole to sort any issues. Apparently they get people bringing back shoes after years to readjust the sole - making the price tag not only worth the investment, but actually a pretty good bargain for what you're getting. The buckle actually broke on my husband's shoes on his first day of wear which we were pretty surprised by, but they fixed it immediately and gave him some free polish for the inconvenience. Definitely sold on these guys.

Made of actual fabric (leather…read morelined) it doesn't give you a long-wear (which I would expect from $250 shoes) and had stitches poorly done. The customer service is what makes me say that I'll never shop with Bared again. Take a week to reply, instead of helping with a refund try to sell more and generally don't seem at all keen to help. The fact that they don't do refunds was also poorly advertised on their website, so I only found out about it when it was too late. Such a waste of my time and money!

The window display shows a number of seriously intense looking leather gimp masks (some of them with horns and animal faces as part of their design). That stuff normally gives me the heebie-jeebies, but on this particular day, it seemed strangely charming (costumie in a fun way, rather than creepy), so I went inside to investigate further. Lucrezia De Sade is no tacky sex shop. I mean, it does sell lots of the stuff that you would imagine to find in a sex shop, but this stuff is next level. It's for, shall I say...'serious connoisseurs'? What really surprised me about the place was the combination of the completely mental looking sex equipment and the sweet, soft spoken store man who offered his assistance as if he were working at JB Hifi or something. The place strangely has a really casual, even upbeat atmosphere that you wouldn't expect from a store that sells butt plugs the size of your head. There's a definite S&M bent to the majority of stuff at Lucrezia (lots of leather and stainless steel), but there is also an extensive selection of instructional books and even some "art". If nothing else, it's quite an eye opener, so worth a drop in for that reason alone if you're walking past.

It has never let me down and almost every visit has seen me walking away with something new. The staff here are very friendly - as they tend to be in op shops. There's something about volunteer staff that is just nicer than paid staff. The shop has always been a bit dated, which I guess is the reason why they were renovating last time I went. The prices in here can get a little high like all salvos and anything remotely vintage is instantly slapped with a higher price tag. Your average everyday supre singlets tend to be pretty cheap however. I'm not sure how the new design is going to affect the store but if they keep the same staff and continue stocking those rare finds I shall remain quite happy with them.
