When I'm shopping for an appliance, this place is pretty high on my list of places to check out. While I prefer online shopping for most things these days, there's times where the item that I want doesn't necessarily make sense to buy online. Admittedly, this is something that doesn't happen as much these days. Last thing I bought here was a dryer. A really good one. I had to decide between two very highly regarded brands, and the dude who helped me shared some of his experiences with how many had been returned and that sort of thing. Not terribly long ago, I was shopping for a new vaccuum. I'd gotten my tax return back, and had a bit to spend, and I was tired of buying the cheapest, crappiest Kmart branded piece of poo every year or two, because inevitably, it'd be faced with one speck of dust too many and just stop working. I figured a good one should last me a long time, and actually pick stuff up. Well, I checked out The Good Guys at Moorabbin first. They had a pretty good range of some of the bigger names, and there weren't really many cheapies there, but that's ok, I was shopping for quality. One of the guys saw me browsing and came over to assist me in my quest. Really nice guy, very helpful, not annoying at all. I asked him if he could do better than the number on the price tag, and yes, he could do quite a bit better. Long story short, no, I didn't get my vaccuum here, but that's because I found the same thing elsewhere a little bit cheaper. But I had a good experience as a potential customer, so I can see myself buying things there in the future. read more
