Fred from FHM came out to my boat withing 24 hrs, and had my propane problem solved in under an hour. $120 per hour, well worth it.

I advised John of ROCHE HARBOR MARINE to specifically check an issue twice; once before the survey of repairs and once after. The mechanic was negligent in his survey of the repairs needed on my boat. 1) I told John about the water pump and the muffler possible melting; my friends were standing next to me and heard me advise you over the phone 2) Who ever diagnosed it did not even look at the muffler after I specifically advised John to do so 3) ALL the parts should have been ordered including the bad water pump belt; they were not. 4) John told me when the water pump came in even if it was 4:00 it would be installed right away: it arrived, he didn't call me as he should have. I called and verified it's arrival and then he said he would not send a mechanic; this is another example of poor communication as well as poor customer service. 5) I was there when the water pump was installed. Greg spent about 30 minutes installing the water pump not 1 hour as indicated, and then went to another job realizing the muffler had melted as I advised from the beginning; again part not ordered. 6) I already stayed 2 extra days to get this job done and there was no way I could wait another day for another part which should have already been ordered; so I had to accept the temporary fix of brass fitting. 7) I looked at the bill and I don't see where John claimed he took an hour labor off of the bill. I appreciate the offer of a refund of $84 when I return the brass part that I don't need; however, the labor and part should have never been apart of this job if the first mechanic did his job right. I'm asking for a fair and equitable solution for a job that was not diagnosed thoroughly and service time that was grossly exaggerated in labor time. I have to take the water pump back off and put a new belt on when it should have been replaced with the pump. I also have to take the brass pipe off and install a muffler that should have been done the first time. $743 to replace a water pump without even a new belt is not a fair and equitable bill.

Boaters beware! My worst experience in getting anything repaired in my life was at Jensen in…read moreFriday Harbor. After five months, tens-of-thousands of dollars, and sending my boat to two other repair shops to troubleshoot work that was not completed properly by Jensen, I finally have my boat back. In my opinion, they don't have enough knowhow to complete repairs that take a good skillset. When I flew up to pick up my boat, I found a loud noise in the drivetrain (they never told me about before I flew up even through they new about the noise) and they couldn't figure out what was causing it as they seemed too worried about the number of hours they had on the repair instead of focusing on getting it completed correctly. They stated that the noise would go away after it was run for a while. Well, it didn't go away and it got louder and it became obvious something in the boat was terribly wrong. It turned out to be a serious isse with the transmission they installed and how Jensen aligned the drive train. I spent almost five thousands of dollars to get it repaired correctly by other shipyards. When I asked Jensen for reimbursement they did not want to honor their work even though they stated they knew about the potential issue when they turned the boat over to me. I am now in the process of taking them to small claims court. I made the wrong choice in taking the boat there...I should have had it towed to Anacortes!!! Please save yourself five months of pure headache by just towing your boat to another boat yard off the island!!!!
