There was a decent storm so I door dashed my dinner to my hotel. This may be why I wasn't wowed. There was no way to customize your order or get an extra side of sour cream. The food was just meh. Nothing special. It was also cold, but again, when you door dash that's a chance you take. I just won't go out of my way to go there in person. It wasn't bad. Just nothing special.

Food was bland. Charged for chips and salsa. Just OK. Service was ok. We won't be back.

Incredible food, some of the best I've ever had in Northern Michigan (or anywhere, for that…read morematter). My gf's halibut and risotto was a real highlight, as was the lobster bisque. The halibut was very well seasoned and perfectly cooked, and the risotto was a great accompaniment. My fried perch was, as expected, not as good as the halibut, but still quite above average. The prices were higher than a "regular" sit down, but I felt it was a good value compared to a place like Artisan at Delamar or the restaurants at Grand Traverse Resort (we paid about $85 + tip for the halibut, perch, 1 lobster bisque, and a soda) The location is certainly one of the main draws here, as the restaurant is located right on the water, with a great view of the west bay. We were very happy to get a table with a good view of the water, but it seems like the vast majority of tables also have a good view, aside from the bar seating. The decoration and furniture was tasteful and cute -- not quite fancy, white tablecloth vibes, but much more elevated than your average taxidermy-infested northern Michigan dinner spot (ahem, Nonna Lisa's in Mackinaw...) The service was one thing we encountered that I felt was less than completely perfect. Strangely, it seemed like our waiter was a bit overwhelmed or something, despite the moderate crowd, and forgot to bring our soup until about 2 or 3 minutes before the entree came out, and then did not bring the ciabatta bread until after the entree. We also did not get our Coke until after the entrees came out, which I thought was a bit weird for a place as nice as this. But, I know things like that tend to happen in food service, so I don't hold it against them. It was also nice that the manager came to chat with us about TC and our hometown. Overall, we loved this place, and my girlfriend is begging me to come back. We would love to make this place a tradition!

This was once of the best amazing places to have ever served a lobster tail as promised. I would…read morehave been satisfied at one tail, but when the two tails were brought to my table I gasped in delight. The Caribbean tail was extraordinary delightful with a savoring taste one would desire. I ordered the surf and turf modified with risotto instead of vegetables with a six once filet topped off with two nice sized tails. The Grand Travers Bay topped off the scenic view with the taste of every bite as my wife and I topped off the special occasion with an exceptional view. The manager Andrew, bartenders John and Grace, with Mattie accommodating the evening with a table next to a picturesque window view. You will definitely not be disappointed coming in with an expectation set low but walking out with a one of a kind experience

Nittolo's ended up being one of our stops during our trip up north, and I have to say, I'm so glad…read moreit was! It wasn't originally our first choice for dinner, but we had forgotten to make a reservation at our planned restaurant. Sometimes things work out for the best! We called while walking around, and the staff let us know they had some bar seating available. We quickly made our way over, not wanting to miss out on the opportunity. The place is SO cute! The staff actually remembered us from our phone call just a few minutes earlier and got us seated at the bar right away. The menu had a great variety of options, and there was plenty to choose from. I ordered a peach Italian soda, which was delicious. We also started with the crispy fried mozzarella, and man, oh man, was it good! We both ordered pasta for dinner, and neither of us was disappointed. To finish off the meal, my partner ordered a cannoli. His only complaint was that the bottom of the takeout container was filled with whipped cream, which meant the cannoli was bound to get soggy by the time we made it back to the hotel. Overall, we loved just about everything about this place! I'm so happy our original dinner plans fell through because we might have missed out on a great little restaurant. Definitely a spot I'd love to visit again!

Disappointing experience at Nittolo's. We came in for what should've been a straightforward…read moreevening, but it was clear paying customers weren't the priority that night. The restaurant was hosting what appeared to be a private party for the owner out on the patio, and the whole vibe made it feel like regular guests were an afterthought. We ended up ordering takeout instead: cacio e pepe, brussels sprouts, and a cheese pizza. The cacio e pepe was a letdown. It barely resembled the traditional dish and was drowning in garlic, which threw off the simple balance that makes that pasta great in the first place. The brussels sprouts and pizza were both bland, nothing special, and honestly forgettable. For the price point, I expected a lot more care in both the food and the way customers were treated. Won't be rushing back.

Dined there for the second time this evening. Arrived earlier tonight than the first time on…read moreFather's Day. The selections were more robust, tasty and plentiful. Buffets kill me because if they're good I just wish I could bring a spare stomach. We started with a variety of fresh sushi, seconds from the other side, egg roll, shrimp in at least 5 or 6 treatments, green beans, chicken, pepper steak, etc. Finished off with various fresh and canned fruit slices including lychees, puddings, cakes. Just the thing to top off the main courses. I give it 4.5 stars due to the lackluster decor. But the wait staff is friendly and not pushy. No silly masks either. People are smiling again. Hooray!!! I forgot to take photos I was so hungry that all I could think about was biting in. Prices are reasonable because you can eat yourself to death here. Totally worth it compared to a lot of what's out there these days.

I always try to explain my review having more stars than perhaps it would in reality, if that makes…read moresense. This is a Chinese buffet. It is an all you can eat buffet. For people who have not had actual primo, well prepared Asian cuisine, I've never seen anyone not enjoy and tell me that they absolutely loved every single dish. This is what it is. It's only $14 for lunch, and if you went to one of the commercial burger places, you would expect that amount on just a regular basket with fries, drink and a burger. Here people get to eat as much as they want. Having explained this, I hope that you understand why I give the stars that I do for this place. It's because they were clean and there was nothing wrong with any of the dishes that I saw or tried . I particularly only like a few. I might like more if the food was hotter temperature wise. I have been to Asian buffets, particularly in Cheboygan and their food was a lot hotter, even though it's in the hot water baths or however, they're heating it. I prefer to have my food served hotter for many reasons. It is more tasty, it kills bacteria and any food problems like that. I'm sure that if they have these heated too high, it also breaks down the vegetables quickly. But I feel that this is a necessary requirement with the buffet food especially. I do love the hibachi style being available. You can add whatever you want, and the hibachi chef will fry it and add whatever sauces you'd like so that's my favorite. That's the main reason I go here, but the reason my sister always insist on returning Here is because "she likes to pig out". I see that many people do. That's what these buffets are. I think in the past like in the 70s they actually used to even put smorgasbord on the sign now everyone knew what that meant. I find that the servers are nice and it's always a very friendly ambience here so that along with the cleanliness and the fact that people look extremely happy that they "got to pig out" I give this place a four.. and really why would I come and eat again and again at a place that I didn't feel was a safe safe or sufficient lunch? I would not.
